3. Key Components of Successful Leadership Communication: (Nhi)

Being a Role Model:

- Living by behaviors and actions with a growth mindset: Believing in unlimited

growth potential and continuous learning, assessing and trusting each other's
focus on progress, and believing in the power of repetition to produce better
results. Successful leaders are open to feedback, listen sincerely, self-reflect,
and act upon it. Embrace debate without becoming defensive.
- Building a trustworthy and safe environment: Creating a work environment
where imperfection is accepted. Encouraging smart risks and supporting
individuals if they fail. Helping them learn and make things better next time.
- Seeking the right outcomes, not just comfort: Be courageous. Making tough
decisions necessary for long-term and sustainable growth. Speaking up and
helping the business make informed choices. Don't let bottlenecks, politics, or
failure hinder you. Help people make effective decisions without delay.

Setting Resolutions:

- Dreaming big and building a vision: Setting a bold vision and high
expectations. Leaders think both forward and backward, providing clarity and
shared understanding. Actively communicate the vision and expectations and
take responsibility for providing feedback, both positive and negative. Actively
correct when things don't work.
- Bringing the outside in: Borrowing ideas from the surrounding environment
and actively sharing profound insights, solutions, and results to reduce rework
and learn from each other.
- Disagree and commit: Courageously express your opinion and encourage
others to do the same. Ensure all viewpoints and events are presented to
make better decisions. Once decided, leaders commit to executing a
consistent action plan and help the team move forward quickly.

Empowering People to Be Their Best:

individuals in their development. Hiring people who complement strengths as
well as weaknesses. Successful leaders actively work to understand what is
needed for growth. Focus energy on helping others succeed and empower
them to unleash their potential.

questions to enhance awareness and responsibility for explanation, helping
those struggling to succeed. Help people leverage their strengths. Act as a
coach and collaborator in the workplace, connect with people, and share
information.
- Making passion irresistible: Creating a positive environment, encouraging
learning from experience. Manage your energy and time. Generate positive
energy and encourage others to do the same. Give credit to others: celebrate
progress and victories. Recognize that failure brings disappointment, and the
role of successful leaders is to help people learn, rise, and start over.

These key components of successful leadership communication at Coca-Cola

emphasize the importance of being a role model, setting resolutions, and
empowering people to achieve their best potential.

IV. Company Overview: Coca Cola (Nhi)

1. Brief History and Evolution:

Coca-Cola is a multinational company that began its business operations in

May 1886 in Atlanta as a beverage industry (fancy drinks). Dr. John Styth Pemberton
created a syrup he named "coke" on May 8, 1886. It was priced at 5 cents a glass
and was available at Atlanta's largest drugstore known as Jacob's Pharmacy. It was
later acquired by a prominent businessman, Asa Griggs Candler, who introduced it
as a "carbonated soft drink" to the market and employed marketing tactics that
propelled Coca-Cola to dominate the soft drink market throughout the 20th century.

In 1895, the company began selling bottled Coca-Cola products, which was
their strategy to gain recognition in the international market. Their strategy
succeeded, and bottled Coca-Cola became successfully recognized worldwide by
early 1896. Today, Coca-Cola is a well-known brand and the most consumed
beverage globally.

2. Organizational Structure:

Coca-Cola is considered "tall" in terms of organizational complexity. Coca-Cola

is controlled through a hierarchical system, with decision-making authority resting
with the upper management of the company. Daily and routine decisions are made
by mid-level managers.

Coca-Cola has over 700,000 employees in its system, including its bottling
partners. The company's operations span over 200 countries worldwide, with six
geographic operating segments. The company's headquarters is responsible for
providing overall direction and supporting regional structures. The company's board
of directors makes crucial strategic decisions. The Chairman of the Board plays a
leading role in the company and chairs board meetings. He also serves as the CEO
and is the ultimate decision-maker.

Each department of the company has marketing directors, public relations

directors, finance directors, etc. When any of these departments plan something,
such as an advertising campaign, they must communicate with higher-ups for
approval. Due to the company's high hierarchical system, communication often loops
back to the company's headquarters in the United States, where the Board of
Directors has final decision-making authority over proposed activities.

3. Leadership Team and Style:

Coca-Cola achieves effective leadership by building a clear and compelling

vision, aligning their system to fit that vision, executing, and continuously
communicating intentions.

A vision without execution is just a dream. And execution without vision is like
running in the dark – you're moving, but you may not be heading in the right
direction. Coca-Cola understands that seizing new opportunities will require both
vision and execution across the entire company as well as its excellent bottling
partner system. That's when the company's vision, called Vision 2020, comes into
play. It's the view of where the company and its bottling partners need to be heading
in the future. The vision focuses on seizing unprecedented opportunities emerging in
the global non-alcoholic beverage industry.

The company's vision is about tapping into new wealth, new beverage
demands, and innovations to drive growth and create the world's most respected
consumer-centric beverage system. Coca-Cola's leaders have crafted a clear and
compelling vision for their organization while striving to inspire others to achieve that
vision. Equally important is aligning bottling partner leadership and company
employees with that vision.

For The Coca-Cola Company, running involves focusing on three core

capabilities:

- Consumer marketing – creating emotional bonds and connections with

consumers.
- Commercial leadership – encompassing all strategic actions taken with over
20 million retail customers selling Coca-Cola branded products worldwide
every day.
- And franchise leadership – working with 300 bottling partners worldwide to
create a larger system connection.
To lead effectively, nothing can replace strategic thinking and tireless execution.
There's no substitute for attracting and retaining the best talent to lead and creating a
dynamic environment for them. And no job is more critical than effectively
communicating with customers and all your key stakeholders.
