About JIMSEMTC
JIMS Engineering Management Technical Campus (JIMSEMTC) is a top GGSIPU affiliated
college in Delhi/ NCR and one of the best law and engineering colleges in Greater Noida,
situated at Knowledge Park III. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education
(AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). JIMSEMTC is affiliated to
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi established since 1998, is
running under the aegis of the Jagan Nath Gupta Memorial Educational Society. The Institute
has been established to cater to the growing needs of higher education in the country. In order
to face the challenges of globalization and liberalization in the field of engineering, the Institute
has endowed its faculty and students with modern technologies, skills and attitudes. The
Institute has an excellent infrastructure in support of high-quality teaching, learning and
research activities. The Wi-Fi enabled campus has the state-of-art infrastructure comprising of
an environment friendly Administrative Block, Academic Blocks, spacious class rooms with

Welcome to the Sports Society of JIMSEMTC, a vibrant and growing community of athletes,
sports enthusiasts, and fitness advocates. Founded in 2021 by our distinguished alumnus,
Advocate Shivanshu Pathak, the society is now in its third year of success and progress,
continually striving to push boundaries and elevate our standards. Our mission is to foster a
culture that values health and active lifestyles, that come from participation in sports.
At the heart of our society lies a commitment to inclusivity and passion for physical well -being.
Whether you're an experienced athlete, a fitness enthusiast, or just someone looking to have

About TRIUMPHMANIA
Triumphmania is the flagship sport event organized by
the Sports Society of JIMSEMTC, held annually as a
thrilling multi-day competition. Triumphmania, is back
and bigger than ever! Now in its highly anticipated
second edition, Triumphmania promises to deliver a
multi-day extravaganza of thrilling competition, intense
rivalries, and incredible athleticism. Expanding beyond
its original scope, this year’s event is set to attract participation from colleges across the NCR
region, making it a premier showcase of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
For 2024, we’re proud to introduce Cricket, Basketball, Kho-Kho, and Chess as the featured
sports of Triumphmania, catering to a wide range of interests and skills. These sports are set to
bring a dynamic and diverse edge to the competition, ensuring there’s something for
everyone—whether you're a seasoned player or a passionate spectator. The event will be
structured over four days of high-stakes action, starting with Basketball, Kho-Kho, and Chess
on the first two days. These opening competitions will set the tone, with teams from various
institutions battling it out on the courts and boards, striving for glory. The unique blend of
strategic and fast-paced sports will keep everyone on the edge of their seats. The final two days
will culminate with the highlight of the event—an exhilarating Cricket tournament. This star
attraction is set to be the ultimate test of endurance, strategy, and team cohesion, drawing the
biggest crowds and the fiercest competition. Cricket, with its universal appeal, promises to
close the event on an electrifying note, leaving lasting memories for participants and fans alike.

Rules & Regulations
To ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants, we have
established the following rules and regulations for Triumphmania. All
athletes and teams are expected to adhere to these guidelines
throughout the tournament:
1. Eligibility: Only registered participants are allowed to compete.
Ensure you have completed registration and submitted the
necessary forms prior to the event.
2. Sportsmanship: Respect, fairness, and good sportsmanship are
expected at all times. Any misconduct, unsportsmanlike behavior,
or disputes will be addressed by the tournament officials.
3. Game Rules: Each sport will follow its respective official rules
and guidelines, with any modifications specific to the event
communicated beforehand.
4. Timeliness: Teams must arrive at their designated venues on
time; at least 1 hour before their respective designated timeslot.
Failure to report on time will result in disqualification or
forfeiture.
5. Attire & Equipment: Proper sports attire and personal
equipment are mandatory for participation. Safety gear, where
required, must be worn.
6. Decisions: All decisions made by referees, umpires, and
tournament officials are final and binding. Any appeals must be
submitted formally through the designated channels.
7. Health & Safety: Players are responsible for their own health and
well-being. Any injuries should be reported immediately to event
staff, and participants are advised to stay hydrated and take
necessary precautions.
By participating, you agree to abide by these rules and regulations to
maintain the integrity and spirit of the tournament.

General Guidelines
1. Team Composition:

❖ Each team consists of 5 players on the court at a time (typically


2 guards, 2 forwards, and 1 center).

❖ Substitutions can be made during stoppages.

2. Game Duration:

❖ The game is typically divided into four quarters of 05 minutes


each.

❖ Halftime occurs between the second and third quarters.

3. Scoring:

❖ A field goal is worth 2 points when scored from within the


three-point line.

❖ A shot made beyond the three-point line is worth 3 points.

❖ Free throws are worth 1 point each.

4. Starting Play:

❖ The game begins with a jump ball at center court between two
opposing players.

5. Shot Clock:

❖ Teams have a limited time to take a shot after gaining


possession. Failure to do so results in a turnover.

6. Ball Movement:

❖ The ball can be advanced by dribbling or passing.

❖ Players must dribble the ball while moving; if a player stops


dribbling, they must pass or shoot.

7. Traveling & Double Dribble:

❖ Traveling occurs when a player moves with the ball without


dribbling.

❖ Double dribble is called when a player dribbles, stops, and then


starts dribbling again.

8. Fouls:

❖ Physical contact that impedes an opponent is considered a foul


(personal fouls include blocking, charging, and reaching).

❖ If a player is fouled during a shot attempt, they are awarded
free throws.

❖ Players are disqualified after accumulating 5 or 6 fouls.

9. Out of Bounds:

❖ The ball is considered out of bounds when it touches the floor


or any object outside the court boundaries.

❖ Possession is awarded to the opposing team when the ball goes


out of bounds.

10. Overtime:

❖ If the game is tied at the end of regulation, overtime periods


(05 minutes each) are played until a winner is determined.

The participants must make a team of 12 players; 7 main & 5 additional
players.

General Guidelines

Total Number of Teams in the Tournament: 16 Teams


Duration of Each Match: 35 Mins (15 mins + 5 mins + 15 mins)
1. Teams:

❖ Each team consists of 7 players on the field, with 5 substitutes


allowed.

❖ Only 7 players from each team play at a time.

2. Duration:

❖ The game is played in two halves of 15 minutes each, with a 5-


minute break in between each half.

❖ The team with the most points at the end of the match wins.

3. Raiding:

❖ One player, known as the raider, enters the opponent's half to tag
defenders and must chant “Kabaddi” repeatedly without taking a
breath.

❖ The raider earns points by tagging as many defenders as possible


before returning to their half without being tackled.

4. Defending:

❖ Defenders must attempt to stop the raider by holding them and


preventing them from returning to their side.

❖ If the raider is successfully tackled and held down, the defending


team earns a point.

5. Out & Revival:

❖ If a raider is tackled or a defender is tagged, the player is


considered out and must leave the field.

❖ A team can revive an out player by earning points (one player


revived for each point scored).

6. Bonus Line:

❖ Raiders can score an additional bonus point if they cross the


bonus line with one foot while keeping the other foot in the
air.

7. Super Tackle:

❖ If the defending team tackles the raider with 3 or fewer


defenders, they earn an extra point (known as a super tackle).

8. Super Raid:

❖ A raider tagging 3 or more defenders in a single raid earns


extra points, called a super raid.

9. Scoring:

❖ 1 point is awarded for each defender tagged or tackled.

❖ Bonus points are awarded for crossing the bonus line.

❖ Super tackle points are awarded for tackles made with fewer
defenders.

10. Winning:

❖ The team with the most points at the end of the match wins.

❖ In case of a tie, extra time or a tie-breaker, such as golden raid or


sudden death, may be used.

General Guidelines
Duration of Each Match (Except Semi-finals & Finals): 5 mins

Duration of Semi-finals & Finals: 10 mins

1. Objective: The aim of the game is to checkmate your opponent's


king, meaning the king is in a position to be captured ("in check")
and cannot escape.

2. Board Setup: The game is played on an 8x8 grid of 64 squares,


alternating in light and dark colors. Each player starts with 16 pieces:
1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Rooks, 2 Bishops, 2 Knights, and 8 Pawns.

3. Piece Movement:

❖ King: Moves one square in any direction.

❖ Queen: Moves any number of squares in any direction.

❖ Rook: Moves any number of squares horizontally or vertically.

❖ Bishop: Moves any number of squares diagonally.

❖ Knight: Moves in an "L" shape (two squares in one direction and


then one perpendicular square).

❖ Pawn: Moves forward one square (two squares on its first move)
and captures diagonally. Pawns can be promoted if they reach the
opposite side of the board.

4. Castling: A special move that allows the king and rook to move
simultaneously. The king moves two squares towards the rook, and
the rook moves to the square next to the king. Castling can only

happen if neither piece has moved before, there are no pieces
between them, and the king is not in, moving through, or moving
into check.

5. En Passant: A special pawn capture that can occur when a pawn


moves two squares forward from its starting position and an
opposing pawn could have captured it had it moved only one square.

6. Check & Checkmate:

❖ Check: When a king is under attack, it is said to be "in check."


The player must move to remove the check.

❖ Checkmate: If the king cannot escape check, the game ends in


checkmate, and the attacking player wins.

7. Draws: The game can end in a draw under certain conditions,


including:

❖ Stalemate: When a player has no legal moves but their king is


not in check.

❖ Threefold Repetition: The same position occurs three times with


the same player to move.

❖ 50-Move Rule: If 50 consecutive moves are made without a pawn


move or a capture.

❖ Mutual Agreement: Both players agree to a draw.

8. Touch-Move Rule: If a player touches one of their pieces, they must


move that piece if a legal move is possible. Similarly, if a player
touches an opponent's piece, they must capture it if a legal capture
is possible.

General Guidelines
Overs of Prelims & Quarter-finals: 8 Overs

Overs of Semi-finals & Finals: 10 Overs

Type of ball: White Leather


1. Teams: Each team consists of 13 players, including 11 on field and
2 extras. The game is played between two teams, with one team
batting and the other team fielding/bowling.
2. Objective: The batting team aims to score as many runs as possible,
while the fielding team tries to restrict the runs and dismiss the
batters.
3. The Pitch: The game is played on a 20 meter pitch and 70 meter
field with wickets at each end..
4. Overs: A standard over consists 8 overs (for prelims and quarter-
finals); 10 overs (for semi-finals and finals).
5. Scoring Runs: Runs are scored when the batters run between the
wickets after hitting the ball, or if the ball reaches the boundary:
❖ 4 Runs: When the ball crosses the boundary on the ground.
❖ 6 Runs: When the ball crosses the boundary without touching the
ground.
6. Dismissals: A batter can be dismissed in various ways, including:
❖ Bowled: The ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails.
❖ Caught: The batter hits the ball and it is caught by a fielder
without bouncing.

❖ LBW (Leg Before Wicket): The batter is out if the ball hits their
leg and would have hit the stumps.
❖ Run Out: The fielding team dislodges the stumps while the batter
is outside the crease attempting a run.
7. Innings: Each team has one innings to bat. The team with the most
runs at the end of the innings wins.
8. Extras: Additional runs awarded to the batting team, such as wides,
no-balls, and byes.
9. Match Result: The team with the most runs at the end of their
innings wins. If both teams score the same number of runs, the match
may result in a tie or be decided by a super over, depending on the
format.

The participants can also avail In-campus food facilities provided. The
participants will be given priority over In-campus food facilities and
food stalls in their designated lunch breaks.
