To avoid segregation of concrete during using pump or chute reducing 17% of Coarse aggregates.
Therefore % of coarse aggregates 64x0.83=53.12 say 53%
Calculation of Recommended mix no.1
A-03 TARGET STRENGTH FOR MIX PROPORTIONING
Characteristic Strength of Concrete = 50 N/mm2
Current Margin as per IS Code (1.65x5) = 8.25 N/mm2
Therefore, Target strength = 58.25 N/mm2
A-04 SELECTION OF WATER CEMENT RATIO
= 0.50
Maximum Water cement Ratio (As per IS456:2000)
Based on experience,Adopt water/cement ratio as = 0.32
0.32< 0.5 Hence O.K.
A-05 SELECTION OF WATER CONTENT - For 20mm Nominal size aggregate water content is -186kg/cum
for 150mm slump water content taken as 186+(12/100)x186 208.32 = Say 208 Kg/m3
By using chemical admixture and observed trial water content reduced by 30.77% at 0.7% dosage
Therefore water content taken
as (100-30.77)x208/100 = 144.00 Kgs/Cum
A-06 CALCULATION OF CEMENTITIOUS CONTENT
Adopted Water cement ratio = 0.32
Cementitious content = 144/0.32 = 450 Kgs/Cum
Minimum cement content (As per Project Requirement) = 450 Kgs/Cum
450 > 450 Hence O.K.
Therefore Cement Content = 450 Kgs/Cum
And Water Content = 144.0 Kgs/Cum

Note: - Aggregates should be used in saturated surface dry condition. If otherwise, when computing the requirement of
mixing water, allowance shall be made for the free (surface) moisture contributed by the fine and coarse aggregates. On the
other hand, if the aggregates are dry, the amount of mixing water should be increased by an amount equal to the moisture
likely to be absorbed by the aggregates. necessary adjustments are also required to be made in mass of aggregates. The
surface water and percent water absorption of aggregates shall be determined to IS: 2386.
A -10 Notes :-
1 This mix design based on 7 & 28 Days compressive strength of concrete cube test result, it is suggested to take plant mix trials & check Workability
of mix & required retention time.
2 This mix design only valid for sources of Coarse & fine Aggregates provided by customer with given cement and admixture brand.
3 This mix design is based on saturated surface dry condition of coarse and fine aggregates, water correction should be apply for site
surface moisture correction of fine and coarse aggregates to avoid extra water mixing & low quantity of material adding in mix.
4 Cement shoud be use in fresh condition as possible.
5 Workability of concrete mix should be adjust during temperature variation due to climate condition by adding or decreasing dosage
of admixture no extra water adding during mixing and at site, only some admixture adding during lossing of slump.
6 After received the report customer must be check or verify the mix by plant batch and take slump, making cube and check 7 ,28 days
strength if any type inconvenient found then please communicate to lab .
