1. Introduction
1.1 Purpose
The Purpose of this method statement is to make an appropriate way for
pipe installation which will be cored on concrete or brick walls in the project.
1.2 Scope
This method statement is used for pipe work through reinforced concrete structural
wall and floor in the project.
Slab coring works shall be carried out following the approved shop drawing and it
combined with builders working drawing.

Note: The location of the coring work will be submitted later according to the shop
drawing submission and site marking

All points of slab coring work need to be approved so that we will use the correct and
equipment.
Tools:
- Coring machine
- Gutter protection
- Drilling machine
Shop drawings:
- Location of coring slab
2.4 Safety and briefing
We absolutely need some PPE equipment to do our work in the site. Those equipment
is shown in pictures as the following:
1- Safety helmets 2- Fire extinguisher

3. Actual work of method statement
Step1: marking the location of the slab that need to boring. (Note: the location of the slab
that needs to be cored requiring the inspection and confirmation from structural of ACT).
Step2: Ensure that there are no services in front and behind the location to be cored
Step3: Move away or protect thing that is directly underneath the area to be cored
Step4: Mounted coring machine stand
Step5: Fix the core bit to the machine
Step6: Adjust and center the core bit the marked position
Step7: Setup water protection system at the front and behind if required
Step8: Turn on water supply and start coring
Step9: once cored through, stop the motor and water
Step10: Remove drill motor and diamond bit.
Step 11: Remove cored concrete
Step12: Clean up the area and move to next location
Note: this coring slab needs to ensure that all protection at floor below need to done before
starting coring
