Context of the group


This group is a big group of students. They are very young, they are very intelligent and creative,
they like to work in class and participate, but there are some students that don’t know a lot of
topics or to do the activities in class, they need a lot of help.
Expected Learning Topic

Animals Creatures Everywhere!


Prepositions of place
Numbers 1 to 10
Natural World

Purpose
Students will be able to identify features of the natural world. Identify prepositions of place, follow instructions
to place objects. To identify objects by length, talk about the length of the objects. To listen to a story attentively
for ten minutes, answer questions about a story and count up to 10.

DATE LEARNING ACTIVITIES


In-Person
October 21th, 2024 - Game: Listen and Do. Attach the natural items Cutouts to the board. Divide the class into
two teams. Invite a member from Team 1 to the front and give him or her a command
October 22th, 2024 for putting one of the creatures Cutouts in a specific location.
- Game: Guess the Picture. Divide the board into three sections. In the first section, start
drawing grass at the bottom. Encourage students to guess what it is. Continue the same
manner, drawing a leaf in the second section and a flower in the third section.
- Song: Bugs All Around. Divide the board into two parts. Display the natural items Cutouts
on the left and the creatures Cutout on the right. Play Track 11.
- Attach the leaf, plant, log and flower Cutouts in the board. Display the worms and
caterpillars Cutouts. Show the come to the front CLC and invite individual students to
come to the front. Give him or her instructions for attaching the Cutouts to the board
with sticky tack.
- Song: Warms. Play Track 12. Have students sing along and wiggle or crawl accordingly.
Have them scrunch to mime being a short worm and stretch out to mime being a long
worm. Have class act out the song three times.

- Game: What’s Missing? Place the long and short worms and caterpillars Cutouts on the
board. Point to them and have students identify them. Then tell students to close their
eyes while you remove one of the Cutouts. Ask students to open their eyes and identify
the missing Cutout.
- Song: Worms. Play Track 12. Have students sing along and wiggle or crawl accordingly.
Have them scrunch to mime being short worm and stretch out to mime being a long
worm.
- Review. Long and short. Have students sit in a circle. Put the worms and caterpillar
Cutouts in a box. Choose a student to pick a Cutout from the box, identify it and hold it
up. Ask to that student to pass the box to another student, Have the second student
choose another Cutout. Repeat the procedure until all students have had a turn to
participate.
- Game: Pass the Cutouts. Have students sit in a circle. Play lively music and have them
pass around the worms and caterpillar Cutouts. Stop the music and have students
holding the Cutouts describe them. Repeat the procedure several times, until all the
students have participated.
- Student’s Book: Look and color. Hand out the Student’s Book opened to page 15.
October 23th, 2024 Describe the pictures and have students point to the creatures on the page. Distribute
crayons. Give instructions to students for coloring the long creatures green and the short
October 24th, 2024 creatures yellow.
- More Practice. Close Your Eyes. Cut plastic straws into various lengths and distribute
them to students (two per student). Ask students to close their eyes and put a piece of
straw in each of their hands. Ask them to identify by touch which section is longer and
which is shorter. Then have them open their hands and put the straws together to
compare and check their answers.
- Activity: Modeling Clay Snakes. Tell students they are going to make a short snake and a
long snake. Distribute modeling clay at students work areas. Begin by having students
roll two pieces of modeling clay between the palms of both hands until they are smooth
balls.
- Encourage students to experiment and find ways of making their snakes longer and
shorter. Walk around and observe whether students can discriminate between long and
short.

- Review. Numbers 1 to 10. Write the numbers 1 to 10 on the board. Point to and name
each one in order. Have students repeat after you. Point to different numbers at random
and have students identify them.
- Next erase a number. Call on a student to identify the missing one. IF he or she is correct,
let that student erase the next number.
- Presentation: Actions. Place the creatures Cutouts on the board. Show one Cutout at a
time and have students name the creature. Elicit different actions each creature can do.
Display Story Cards 1 to 6. Show them one at time and present the new actions
vocabulary: fly, jump, buzz, crawl and weave.
- Then mime an action and have students guess which creature moves in that way,
- Chant: Move like a Creature. Have students stand in a circle. Introduce other actions that
creatures can do. Play Track 13, encourage students to act out the chant.
- Story: Over in the Meadow. Tell students that this is a different part of the class called
Story Time. Show scene 1 of the Unit 2 Story Cards and read the tittle aloud. Have
students repeat it. Present the word “meadow”. Display the rest of the Story Cards 1 to
6. Guide students in talking about the creatures and the natural items on the pictures.
- Listen to the Story. Display Story Cards scenes 1 to 6. Play Track 14. Point to the
corresponding pictures as students listen to the story.
- Listen, Point and Do. Display the Story Cards. Invite a student to use the Teacher Stick
Puppet to point to the creatures on the pictures. Ask the rest of the class what action
each group of creatures do in the story.
