When the blood sugar level is high, this means that insulin, for some reason, is not
bringing it down. Insulin regulates blood sugar by lowering it, and if there is not enough

Another great test for adrenal strength is the ability to hold your breath for a period of
time. The weaker the adrenal, the less you can hold your breath. This is why climbing
inclines adds more stress and why oxygen runs out fast. Some people with adrenal
fatigue can’t last more than 15 seconds of climbing stairs.

(1) your blood sugar level is off balance, making your insulin levels too high or usually
too low (insulin resistance). Extra insulin brings down the blood sugar into a lower range
(called hypoglycemia). Your body will then look for sugar, and you will think about it
more than usual and even dream about it.
(2) High cortisol from stress will cause your body to run on sugar. High cortisol will
make you crave sugar even if you are having a good diet. High cortisol levels result in
the conversion of muscle protein into carbohydrates in the liver. This then spikes insulin.
(3) Your liver is for some reason not storing sugar effectively (Stored sugar is called
glycogen.) because it is either fatty or damaged (cirrhosis). This would cause you to
have high sugar levels in the morning upon waking up, and it could cause you to wake
up in the middle of the night due to sugar level fluctuations.
It takes a lot of potassium to store sugar and without it, you will have lower levels of
stored sugar. The goal is to have a good sugar storage system so you can last longer
between meals and not crave foods or be hungry. To do this, you need 4700mg of
potassium daily, which equals to 7-10 cups of vegetables per day.
Diet:
There are two things that can be done to eliminate sugar from your diet. Firstly, it is to
consume 7-10 cups of vegetables each day. This will raise your potassium levels and
cause your body to store sugar (It takes potassium to store sugar.). Secondly, there
should be no more snacks between meals. Any time you eat, you raise insulin, so
reducing the frequency will lower insulin and your cravings will go away.

Explanation:
Usually, the adrenals are fatigued when a person can’t recover. The part of the nervous
system responsible for recovery is the parasympathetic (PS) system. The PS nervous
system gets shut down when the fight or flight system is in overdrive (stress mode).
Adrenal Stress can help with this one.
There is another condition called lactic acidosis, which can occur when someone is
experiencing poor recovery. When the body holds onto excess lactic acid, muscles get
tired really quick. This is most likely caused by weak adrenals. Vitamin B1 (from
Nutritional Yeast) and omega-3 fatty acids will help improve this condition.
But then, the worse the adrenals are, the poorer the sleep, and the less the person can
recover. You should adjust your exercise intensity based on your recovery ability to avoid

Explanation:
Difficulty getting out of bed in the morning could come from a poor quality of sleep,
which is most commonly due to adrenal fatigue.
If the adrenals are stressed, stress hormones (cortisol) are elevated, which prevent deep
rejuvenated sleep. Personally, I had this problem of never feeling rested for years. It
would take me until late morning to feel awake. However, now I can wake up at 5:30 am
fully awake and ready to go. So it is possible to turn things around. Normally, you should
wake up in the early morning, go all day feeling bright and energetic, and then at night,
turn off and go right ahead to sleep.
But with adrenal fatigue, you never get into deep restful sleep and never reach your peak
during the day. So everything is backwards; you can’t sleep at night and can’t wake up
during day – sucks!!!
Many adrenal body types are night owls but this is not normal. When you get your

sleep for 7-8 hours, and then wake up early in the morning.
