2 Introduction
This document mainly introduces how to do disk repair, how to do data recovery when the
data is deleted or formatted by mistake.

4 Tool installation
1.Exascend Data Recovery Tool is an executable file, just need copy and extract the file
locally to run.
2.Run the tool as Administrator.

3.The software is launched and displayed as follows.
DISK REPAIR: Click this button when the disk needs to be repaired.
MIS DELETE: Click this button if data is deleted or formatted by mistake.

5 Steps
5.1 DISK REPAIR
1.Please put the upgrade files(*.fwb) under the 'fwb' folder.
Notes: Please remove any unnecessary upgrade files in ‘fwb’ folder first, then copy the
upgrade file(*.fwb) to ‘fwb’ folder. (Please contact Exascend to get matched fwb file for
your disk)

2. Run the tool as Administrator, click ' MIS REPAIR ' button to repair the disk.
Note: Please make sure that the disk can be recognized by the operating system,
otherwise the software will not be able to repair the disk.

3. Click ' Repair ' button, the progress bar goes up to 100% that indicates Repair process
is done. The software will prompt “Disk repair succeeded! Please remove the disk” which
means disk is repaired successfully.

4. If the disk does not need disk repair, software will prompt "The current disk is normal
disk and does not need to be repaired".

5.2 MIS DELETE
1. Run the tool as Administrator, click ' MIS DELETE ' tab if data is deleted or formatted
by mistake.

2.After entering the disk and partition selection page, click the top drop-down button to
select the disk that needs to be restored, and all partitions of the disk will be listed below.

3.Select the Disk to be restored. ('D' stands for whole disk. 'P' stands for partition.)

4. Check ' Recover file structure '.
Notes: If you want to recover the file structure, check "Recover file structure", otherwise
the file structure will not be recovered.

5. Click the ' Browse ' button to select a path to save the recovered data.
Notes:
1) To avoid overwriting data, please do not select any path under current recovering disk.
Please choose a disk which has bigger capacity than restored one to save the recovered
data.
2) The file system type and Free/Whole are related to the partition and disk file system
selected. It is strongly recommended to keep the default value to avoid incomplete data
recovery.

6. Click ' Scan ' button to start scanning and recovering data.

7. The software will enter the data recovery progress page and please wait for data
recovery to complete.
As shown above, the progress bar goes up to 100% that indicates the data recovery is
done and lost data has been restored. You could check the restored data under the path
you specified in above step.
