Study Plan
My name is Salekha Akter, a dedicated student from Bangladesh, driven by a passion for the hospitality
industry and a clear vision for my future. My journey toward becoming a global hospitality professional
began during my secondary education, where I developed a keen interest in service management, cultural
studies, and international tourism. With a solid academic background, reflected in my GPA of 4.75 in my
HSC and an IELTS score of 6, I am fully prepared to embark on an academic journey at Dong-EUI
University, renowned for its innovative approach to hospitality education and commitment to producing
industry leaders. South Korea’s rich culture, vibrant tourism industry, and the dynamic learning environment
at Dong-EUI University are perfectly suited to my ambitions, making it the ideal place to realize my goals.
Since the beginning of my academic career, I have consistently strived for excellence and have built a strong
foundation in analytical thinking, communication, and intercultural awareness. My education at Nawabganj
Pilot Girls High School, where I graduated with a GPA of 3.94, laid the groundwork for my understanding
of diverse perspectives and enhanced my problem-solving skills. During my time at Begum Badrunnessa
Govt. Girls’ College, I achieved a GPA of 4.75 in my Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and further
developed my interest in hospitality through studies in business and service-related fields.
In addition to excelling academically, I invested time in learning English, which has proven essential for
global communication. My IELTS score of 6 is a testament to my commitment to self-improvement and
adapting to an international learning environment. These achievements, along with my unwavering
determination, have prepared me to thrive in the Global Hospitality Management program at Dong-EUI
University.
Dong-EUI University stands out to me for several reasons. First, the university’s reputation for providing
hands-on training in hospitality management resonates with my learning style, which prioritizes practical
experience alongside theoretical knowledge. I am particularly impressed by the program’s approach to
immersing students in real-world challenges, preparing them for immediate entry into the industry after
graduation.
Additionally, the university’s strong ties to industry professionals and emphasis on networking will allow
me to build valuable connections, further enhancing my learning experience. The location in Busan, a major
tourist hub in South Korea, offers an ideal setting for students like me to observe and participate in one of
Asia’s most active tourism and hospitality markets. Busan’s mix of traditional and modern cultural
attractions provides the perfect environment for understanding diverse customer preferences and cultural
nuances—both essential skills for a successful career in hospitality.
My primary objective in pursuing the Global Hospitality Management program at Dong-EUI University is to
gain a deep understanding of core principles in hospitality, including service excellence, cultural sensitivity,
and guest relations. I aim to specialize in areas that address the evolving needs of the industry, such as
sustainable tourism practices, event planning, and digital innovation in hospitality. I am particularly
interested in the university’s courses on sustainable hospitality management, as I believe this is crucial for
the future of the industry.
Beyond the classroom, I intend to make full use of Dong-EUI University’s resources by actively
participating in workshops, internships, and any industry-led seminars. This hands-on experience will
provide me with practical insights that go beyond theory and prepare me for the fast-paced nature of
hospitality management. I am also keen to learn about the latest trends in customer service management and
digital transformation, which I see as vital for meeting the demands of a rapidly changing global tourism
market.
After completing my degree, I am eager to contribute to the growth and transformation of Bangladesh’s
hospitality sector, which has significant untapped potential. With a vision to elevate service standards, I
hope to work initially with international hotel chains to gain a global perspective, eventually applying my
expertise to benefit my home country. By implementing modern management practices, customer-focused
strategies, and sustainable operations, I aim to help shape Bangladesh’s tourism sector into a more
competitive player in the global market.
My long-term ambition is to establish my own hospitality venture, focusing on showcasing the rich cultural
heritage of Bangladesh while meeting international standards of service and sustainability. Furthermore, I
hope to foster stronger connections between South Korea and Bangladesh by promoting cultural exchange
programs and partnerships in the hospitality industry. I am confident that the skills, knowledge, and
experiences I will gain at Dong-EUI University will be instrumental in helping me achieve these goals and
create meaningful impacts in both countries.
An integral part of my plan is to fully immerse myself in Korean culture and language. I believe that
understanding the culture of the guests and communities we serve is essential for creating memorable
experiences in the hospitality sector. Learning Korean and embracing the local customs will enable me to
connect more deeply with my peers, professors, and eventually with clients in the industry. Additionally, my
exposure to the Korean language and Busan’s local dialect will further enhance my ability to operate
effectively in multicultural environments—a crucial skill in the hospitality field.
I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to join Dong-EUI University and am confident that the program in
Global Hospitality Management will be transformative for my personal and professional development. With
my dedication to academic and cultural growth, passion for hospitality, and clear vision for the future, I am
excited to contribute to and benefit from the vibrant academic community at Dong-EUI University. This
journey will not only equip me with the skills necessary for a successful career but will also empower me to
make a meaningful difference in the global hospitality industry
