1.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this guideline is to identify documents required by Process Department

for review during detailed engineering ensuring that there are no gaps in understanding
the design requirements of Process by other engineering departments within EIL. A
specific list of such documents identified based on this guideline will be enclosed with
each process package released by Process Department.

2.0 SCOPE

The Divisional Work Procedure of Process Department, Standard 5-0241-2000, defines

interactions required between Process and engineering disciplines, listed under Inter
Departmental Checks (IDC), during both package preparation stage as well as during
engineering stage while performing different activities of Process Department.

This guideline lists , as a minimum, the documents originated by other engineering

departments which require review from process point of view during detailed
engineering. The scope of this list is limited to review of documents for process
packages, which are engineered within EIL. This guideline is not applicable to those
packages, which are intended to be engineered by turnkey contractors after international
bidding.

3.0 DEFINITIONS

4.0 PROCEDURE

Engineering documents needing process review will be identified by Lead engineer

specific for each process package released by process department. The list of these
documents will be enclosed with the process package without exception. These
documents are covered department wise in this guide to assist the engineer to identify
those specific to the process package released.

Guidelines for review of some of the documents listed below are covered in Section -3 of
Process Department manual for Guidelines for Detailed Engineering follow up

The review of these documents does not relieve the concerned engineering discipline of

their responsibilities for design in conformance with process requirements. Process

department will furnish comments on these documents to respective engineering
discipline. Any further review of subsequent revisions will be limited to those items
previously noted.

- Lines requiring long radius elbows (more than 1.5D bends)
- Lines requiring additional break flanges, crosses for cleaning
- Circuits other than those mentioned above, as identified by Lead
Engineer.

Isometrics of lines in the thermosyphon reboiler loop, thermosyphon steam generators,

thermosyphon refrigerant exchangers and ejector barometric legs will be reviewed by
HMTD to ensure their requirement of design. The isometrics of lines in thermosyphon
circuits requiring review, will however, be identified by Process Department.
