I wanted a tabletop printing press I could take with me to events for live
printing and be big enough for me to actually print postcard sized prints.
The gearbox gives a powerful 5:1 gear reduction while also remaining
compact and beautiful. I make linocuts with big black areas so I needed a
press that could deliver a lot of power. The gearbox can be mounted to the
top or bottom roller for your own preference. The best part is you can
make your own pressbed out of wood or metal, as long as it is 6 inches
wide it could be as long as you want... you could have an 8ft press bed if
you wished.

The parts for the press should not exceed 210mm in any direction so it
should be printable on most standard 3d printers.
I spent months modeling, printing, breaking, and improving this design so
it would be foolproof to put together and use. I would appreciate it if you
printed the nameplate and attached it to the base of your press so I can
get a little bit of credit. Also do consider sending me a picture of your
press once it is finished and send me a picture of what you print with it on
instagram! You can find me @someprintdude on instagram.

You will also need:

Two 5/16 x 3inch threaded rods and two 5/16 lock nuts. For my metric
friends two 8mm-1.25 x 100mm threaded rods and two 8mm-1.25 lock
nuts.

Super Glue

lubricating oil (3in1 oil, silicone, or grease)

If you don't print a base or press bed:

Base: 8.25" x 8.25" piece of wood wood. (210mm x 210mm) And get
yourself some screws.

Press bed: 6" x 11" x 1⁄4" piece of wood (155mm x 300mm) (I like using
whiteboard because it is dense and easy to clean)
