HOUSE AND HOME

Transcripts

3. Listening

Speaker one: I love my home. We live on the 6th floor and the view of our city is spectacular. My
best friend lives on the 4th floor so we often play sports together in the gardens. It’s
a modern building and a typical home in the city.

Speaker two: My family built this home because of the space. We wanted a big garden and lots
of rooms. We don’t have any neighbours near us. There are different floors, and my
bedroom is on the 1st floor. There are different varieties of this type of home but
ours is very modern. You can see it in the city, countryside or at the beach like us.

Speaker three: People think my home is only for holidays, but they are wrong. I’ve been living here
for five years. It doesn’t matter that there isn’t a lot of space because I’m a tidy
person. I like living in the city, because I can move to a different location every week.
It’s easy moving around the city because there aren’t any traffic jams on canals!

9. Practice

Speaker: Above my bed there are some pictures and my bike. Can you see the two stands? They are
between my bed and shelves. There’s a small black lamp on one and a plant on the other.
Next to my bed there’s a small grey puff. I love this puff. I like sitting on it to read or to play
games. Sometimes I put it in front of my desk. Now look at the floor. In front of my bed,
you can see a black and white rug.
