Be sure to silence any cell phones or other electronic devices that might make noise.
TURN OFF WIFI connections or place in airplane mode so as not to interfere with our
microphones.
Remember that the performers can hear you just as well as you can hear them.
Stay seated unless you are ill or need to attend to a crying child.
Hold your applause for soloists until the end of the song and refrain from shouting out
students’ names. Musical performances are different from athletic events in this way.
Above all, enjoy the music and the performances. The most important thing is to
create and sustain an environment where everyone in the auditorium can totally
immerse himself or herself in the beauty and magic of the live performance.
Thank you!
These talented students have devoted many after-school hours of practice and rehearsal
to present this show for you tonight. Congratulations to the cast and crew for a job well
done in preparing this show for your school and community. You should be proud of
your accomplishment!
Many thanks to Lucretia Fenwick, Director, for her dedicated work with our students on
this production.
We truly appreciate the support of our community and thank you for joining us. I hope

Director’s Notes
Welcome to our production of The Lightning Thief, a musical adapted from the popular
“Percy Jackson” book series. The students really pulled for this show and we are THRILLED to
present it to you today!
I love this show for its incredible message to everyone, especially young people. In life, we
all face moments that seem like we are” Lost”, or “D.O.A”, just having “Another Terrible
Day” where the world tries to “Put You In Your Place”. Even so, everyone has the power
within to be “Strong”, look for “Their Sign”, fulfill their “(My) Grand Plan”, and complete
their “Killer Quest!”!
“Drive” with us, from “The Day I Got Expelled”, to “The Last Day of Summer”, where we will
face monsters, “Oracle(s)”, have “The Weirdest Dream(s)”, enjoy each other at “The
Campfire (song)”, and finally find our worth and our place in the real world!
The incredible “Good Kid(s)”, parents, and crew have once again impressed me with their
hard work and dedication. Many new performers and the elevated passion from returning
performers have made this show “a cut above the rest”. Your students and the community Their Sign . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Chiron, Percy,
