Admission Procedure
r) Applicants have to access the Postgratluate (PG) atlmission website (ogadmission.mist.ac.btl)
and siglr up using their phone number and enter their personal information, previous academic
qualifications, emplolrment status and department and program selection.
z) After that, applicants will be able to generate a completed application form, which they have to
print out and submit to the MIST registrar office.
3) An application fee of BDT r,ooo.oo (one thousand only) must be paid during submission of the
application form (waived for international applicants).
4) Eligible applicants will be able to download and print admit card from the PG admission website,
which they must bring during the written examination and interview.

 Qualifications to Apply
For odrnission to the progranns leading to M.Sc.Engg. / M.Engg.
d.egree:
r) A candidate must have a minimum GPA of 4.oo out of 5.oo or a first division or equivalent in
S.S.C. and H.S.C. or in equivalent examinations.
z) A candidate must have at least 55% marks or a minimum GPA of 2.75 out of 4.oo or its equivalent
in B.Sc.Engg.
3) For admission to the programs Ieading to the degree of M.Sc.Engg. / M.Engg. in CE, CSE, EECE,
ME, AE, NAME in any discipline an applicant must have a B.Sc.Engg. Degree in the relevant
discipline or an equivalent degree from any UGC recognized institution.
4) For admission to the programs leading to the degree of M.Sc.Engg. / M.Engg. in NSE, an
applicant must have a B.Sc.Engg. Degree in Nuclear Science and Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science
Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material and Metallurgical Engineering, physics,
Chemistry, Applied Physics and other fields related to Nuclear Science and Engineering or an
equivalent degree from any UGC recognized instifution.
5) For admission to t}re programs leading to the degree of M.Sc.Engg. / M.Engg. in BME, an
applicant must have a B.Sc.Engg. in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics and Biomedical
Engineering, MBBS, Biotechnologr and Genetic Engineering, Computer Science and
Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics and Communication
Engineering, Nuclear Science Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, and Chemical Engineering or an equivalent degree from any UGC recognized
institution.
For admission to the progranns leoding to M.phil. degree:
r) A candidate must have a minimum GPA of 4.oo out of 5.oo or a first division or equivalent in
S.S.C and H.S.C or in equivalent examinations.
z) A candidate must have at least 55% marks or a minimum GPA of z.7S out of 4.oo or its equivalent
in B.Sc.Engg. 7 tbur-year B.Sc. <iegree / M.Sc. degree in the relevant branch.
3) For admission to the course leading to the award of M.Phil. in Mathematics, an applicant must
have obtained a four-year B.Sc. or M.Sc. Degree with Honors in Mathematics or Applied
Mathematics. Applicants with M.Sc. Degree in Physics or B.Sc. Engineering degree are also
eligible provided they complete some prerequisite courses ia Mathematics as determined by a
selection Committee. An applicant with M.Sc. but not having a Bachelor (Honors) degree in
matlematics or applied mathematics should have a first class (or equivalent) in the M.Sc. degree.
4) For admission to the course leading to the award of M.Phil. in Physics, an applicant must have a
four-year B.Sc' degree (or equivalent) witl Honors or M.Sc. Degree in Physics or Applied physics
or B.Sc. Engineering in Electrical and Electronic /
Materials and Metallurgical Engineering /
Applied Mathematics. An applicant with M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) but not having a Bachelor

 (Honors) degree in Physics or applied Physics should have a first class (or equivalent) in the
M.Sc. degree.
5) For admission to the course leading to the award of M.Phil. in Chemistry, an applicant must have
obtained a four-year B.Sc. degree (or equivalent) or M.Sc. Degree with Honors in Chemistry
(Organic, Physical, Inorganic) or Applied Chemistry or B.Sc. Engineering degree in Chemical /
Mechanical / Electrical and Electronic / Materials and Metallurgical Engineering. An applicant
with M.Sc. degree but not having a Bachelor (Honors) degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry
should have a fust dass (or equivalent) in the M.Sc. degree.
For cdmissiorl to the progr:anrs leading to Ph.D. d.egree:
r) A candidate must have a minimum GPA of 4.oo out of5.oo or a first division or equivalent in of
S.S.C. and H.S.C. or in equivalent examinations.
z) Must have at least 6o% marks or a minimum GPA of 3.oo out of 4.oo or its equivalent in
B.Sc.Engg. or equivalent degree in the relevant fieid from a recognized University7institute. The
duration of B.Sc.Engg. or equivalent degree program should be of minimum four (o4) years.
3) Should have at least 6o% marks or a minimum GPA of 3.oo out of 4.oo in M.Sc.Engg. or
equivalent degree in the relevant field from a recognized University / Institute. The duration of
M.Sc.Engg. or equivalent degree program should be of minimum one and a half (r.5) years.

In Case of different g"o:dirrg system..

For M.Sc.Engg. / M.Engg. / M.PhiI. / Ph.D. in any discipline mentioned above, in case of different
grading system, the GPA of a]l the above examinations should be evaluated by the MIST Equivalence
Committee. For the case of non-relevant degree of a department, the candidate may be required to
undertake prerequisite courses as determined by the BPGS of that department.

Scholarships for Potential Full-Time Students

Potential full-time M.sc.Engg. / M.Engg. candidates may be given BDT z5,ooo per month for rg
montis and potential firll-time Ph.D. candidates maybe given BDT so,ooo per month for 36 months
as scholarship.

1) Attesteal copy of all mark sheets, certificates of s.s.c., H.s.c., B.Sc.Engg. or equivalent (for
M.Sc.Engg. / M.Engg.) and M.Sc.Engg. / M.Engg. or equivalent (for M.phil. ph.D.) program.
