This one has been around forever but I
never tried it. Recently however, there
was a great sale on a tester and I
scooped a bottle up figuring I could sell it
if I didn’t care for it. And wow it is so
good, different from other fragrances I
have and typically like. It’s very soft with
florals and not something I would
normally think of as “me” but I really like
this one. There is something addictive
about the contrast of the soft floral and
salty woodiness. I’m stoked because
based on how people talk about it, I
really didn’t think I’d love it. That’s part of
what took so long for me to try it, it’s
generally described as dated, over done,
etc. So, if you haven’t put your nose on
this one you should if you have a chance.

Maybe my favorite scent profile of all
time, due to combo of mint and lavender
with the vanilla.
My hesitation in buying this is it's not
'beastly' as some say it was back in the
day (1995-mid 2000s) due to
reformulations. As such, I've held off on
buying it

People complain about this fragrance
that it smells like their ex boyfriend or
their dad, but for what it's worth I
wouldn't listen to that. It's a lovely winter
fall fragrance, probably can get away in
Spring. Love the smell of Vanilla with the
dry down, but in the opening the
lavender is there but not for long. Its a
good night or day fragrance in my
opinion, and I wear this when I want to
feel smart. I know there are the other
JPG's but for wanting a nice smelling,
cheaper, masculine JPG get this one.

It might be just my skin chemistry, but I
tried it multiple times on different
occasions to make sure I can judge it
properly and sadly I always got a soapy
synthetic smell that definitely narrates
the Gaultier initial attitude but will, in my
opinion, properly suit only a few people.
Since I'm not the targeted audience I
won't say it's the least captivating
essence of the Gaultier collection, but in
comparison to Le Beau and others I find
it too connected to the 90's (as it should
be since it's the first one). It's definitely
still a great signature fragrance if you
know how to style it and if it suits your
character. On the other hand I can't not
highlight the amazing longevity it has, it
stayed on my skin for around 12 hours
even after showering, which could be a
pro for people who like it.

Go for Jacomo de Jacomo Rouge

It is quite good, sweeter kind of pour
homme but not one that I would really
like to wear. Maybe so because I also
happen to have Amouage Reflection Man
which is similar but so much better and
deeper in its sweetness. Who wants a
much less sweet version of this then I
just tried and compared hand by hand
that Ellena's Cartier Declaration is good
for that and is also more wearable
outside because it is more modest.

I’m surprised with what people say about
the longevity. For me, it lasts maybe an
hour on skin before I can only get the
occasional whiff. Maybe I’m just prone to
becoming nose blind to it, but I’m not
sure. Scent wise, I like it. For some
reason it reminds me of cola. Old school
fragrance, yet timeless.

As Jeremy cleverly put it, it's a very
philosophical fragrance. It's timeless, yet
old school. It has been worn by many
fathers, but it is not as popular as the
flankers of the line, so it can be worn
again. It smells great at the beginning,
but even the old formulation cannot
perform as well as other fragrances. Also
after a few hours for some reason it turns
into a strange grassy smell. Big
disclaimer, it disappears within an hour
when subjected to hot weather. Overall, i
think even today it's a nice choice if you
already have a few fragrances already.

Personally love the smell but it just
doesn’t last. I have tried 8+ sprays,
different weather conditions but it
disappears almost completely after an
hour. Almost zero silage for me as well.

Amazing fresh aromatic vanilla fragrance
that is NOT outdated. Sprayed it on at
7:30 am and it is now 11 pm and I can
still smell it even though its a skin scent
now of course. Highly recommend if you
like vanilla, lavender, and mint.

it smells pretty good before it dries
down. after that happens i find it hard to
smell really at all. the mint sticks out the
most to me, its a very fresh scent in the
sense that you've just walked outside
and its raining and you can really smell
all the plants, not like soap fresh. i dont
like it that much, nothing special.
