Q1 How to create a new file in Libre office in writer? Write the steps to save a
filewith password.

Ans. Create a new text document by using file menu.


File Menu ---> NEW --- > TEXT DOCUMENT

OR
Ctrl + N

OR
1 From the Standard toolbar

2 To save a document using password


3 Select file --> Save
4 Select the location of the disk to save the file Type a suitable name for the document.
5 Click on the save button
6 To save the document with password, put a tick of the check box save with a
password.
7 Type the password to open the file in set password dialog box.
8 Type the same password in the second box and click ok button.

Q2. How to Select Vertical Block of Text in Libre-Office Writer?

Ans Edit Menu --> Selection Mode --> Block Area

Q3. How to Insert an Image from the Gallery?
Ans:

1. Select Insert --> Media --> Gallery from the menu. The Gallery display the available
themes with images.

2. Select the theme and scroll to find a suitable image.

3. Click on the image and Drag it onto the Workspace.


4. Release the mouse button and the image will be placed into your slide.

1. Select the cell

2. Copy the contents of the selected cell (Ctrl + C).


3. Select the cell to which the Formula is to be pasted.

4. Paste the contents in the selected cell (Ctrl + V).

Q5 Use of fill handle for copying formulae

1. Select the cell which contains the formula.

2. Click the small Black square in the bottom-right corner of the selected cell.

3. Drag the Fill Handle up to the required cell.

1. Select the Range of data (A1:F7)
2. Insert --> Chart
3. Select the type of Chart

Q7. What are the different types of Workspace Views?

Ans:

1. Normal view – It is the Main view for working with individual slides. This view is
used to format and design and to add text, graphics and animation effects.

2. Outline view – It contain all the slide of presentation in a sequence. It shows each slide
in the outline format. Only the text contain in each slide is displayed inside the
workspace

3. Notes view – It is used to add notes to a slide for the infomation of presenter. It is not
seen by the audience while showing the presentation.

4. Slide sorter view : view contains all of the slide thumbnails. It is suitable for rearranging
the slide order .

Q8 How to rename a slide?
Ans. Steps to rename a slide
1 Select the slide by marking them in the slide pane .

2. Right click the mouse button on the selected slide.


3. Select the Rename slide option in the context menu.
4. A Rename Slide dialog box will appear where we can assign the new name to the
slide.

Q9 How to Find and Replace Text in Libre-Office writer?
Ans. This feature is used to search for a Text and Replace it with other Text.

1. Select Edit -->> Find and Replace the dialog box will open or press Ctrl + H

2. Type the text to find in the Find box.

3. To change the text with different text, Enter the new text in the Replace box.

Q10 How to Format a Document?Ans

1. To setup a page select and click on the Format --> Page setup and the page option

2. The page style dialog box will be open

3. It allows to select paper size and format. User can adjust 'Orientation' as portrait or
landscape. The user can set the Margines (Left, Right, Top, Down)

Q11 Create the worksheet with student and Marks. How to calculate the Total and
Average?
Ans.
1. Type the formula in cell F2 as =sum(B2:G2). We will get the total marks of Amit. Now
drag the formula using fill handle in cell F2 to F6 to get the total of all marks.

Type the formula in cell G2 as =AVERAGE(C2:F2) we will get the average marks of Amit.
Now drag the formula using fill handle in cell G2 to G6 to get the total of all marks

After that we will get the result.
