Cable inlet
Cables can be routed into the A63E-22 cabinet from the top or bottom.
● In top cabling mode, cables are routed into the cabinet through cable inlets in
the top, as shown in Figure 1-1.
● In bottom cabling mode, cables are routed into the cabinet through cable
inlets in the bottom, as shown in Figure 1-2.
Air filter
An air filter is installed on the inner side of the front door of the A63E-22 cabinet.
The air filter at the inner side of the front door prevents dust from entering the
cabinet.
During ventilation, cool air enters the cabinet through the air intake vent at the
cabinet bottom. The air filter at the cabinet bottom prevents dust from entering
the cabinet.
Figure 1-3 shows the size of the air filter at the inner side of the front door, and

Cable Manager
A cable manager is installed under a service subrack. It consists of the upper and
lower parts. Functions of the two parts are as follows:
● The main function of the upper part of the cable manager is to clearly
separate cables of each slot from each other so that cables can be routed in
order and cables in one slot do not affect the insertion or removal of the
board in the neighboring slot.
● The main function of the lower part of the cable manager is to support (bear)
optical fibers.
Grounding
NOTICE
The ground cable must be connected properly to protect the A63E-22 cabinet
against lightning and interference.
The power input end of the A63E-22 cabinet has a noise filter whose center
ground is directly connected to the cabinet, called the chassis ground, that is, the
protection ground. The chassis must be grounded properly. This ensures that the
induced current and leakage current flow to the ground safely and the anti-
electromagnetic interference capability of the device is improved.
The ground point of the chassis is located on the top of the cabinet. Use a ground
cable to connect the ground point of the chassis to the ground bar of the
equipment room or the ground. It is recommended that the ground resistance of
the equipment room be less than 10 ohms. In addition, comply with the related
national or local standards.

NOTE
In Figure 1-10 or Figure 1-11, the holes marked with numbers on the left and right
mounting bars indicate the positions for installing floating nuts that secure subracks.
The heat dissipation principle of the A63E-22 cabinet is as follows: Cool air enters
the cabinet through the cabling space at the bottom of the subracks. After passing
through the subracks, the air is drawn upwards by fans. Finally, the air is
exhausted from the top of the cabinet, as shown in Figure 1-12.
NOTE
The picture of the DPD63-8-8 DC PDU is for reference only. The actual product prevails.
Functions
The features of the DPD63-8-8 DC PDU are as follows:
● Protection against short circuit and overloading
● No overvoltage protection, surge protection, or filtering
NOTE
Figure 5 Power supply principle of the DPD63-8-8 DC PDU uses 4+4 DC power inputs
(mutual backup as an example).
The input terminals of the DPD63-8-8 DC PDU are divided into group A and group
B. Each group receives four or two –48 V/–60 V DC power inputs for mutual
backup.
The DPD63-8-8 DC PDU provides eight –48 V/–60 V DC outputs. Table 1-4, Table
1-5, and Table 1-6 describe the mapping between the output terminals, control
switches, and service subracks for the DC PDU.

ESD Jack
The ESD jack of the MA5800T-X17 service subrack is located on the left side of the
fan tray. It is used to connect to an electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap to
prevent the device from being damaged by ESD.
Grounding
NOTICE
The ground cable must be connected properly to protect the MA5800T-X17 service
subrack against lightning and interference. When a Huawei cabinet is installed,
the service subrack is grounded through mounting ears and therefore no separate
ground cables are required. When a third-party cabinet is installed, a separate
ground cable is required to connect the ground points of the service subrack and
cabinet.
There are two ground points on the MA5800T-X17 service subrack, one on the side
and the other under the mounting ear on the right.
The power input end of the MA5800T-X17 service subrack is connected to a noise
filter whose center ground is directly connected to the service subrack, called the
chassis ground, that is, the protection ground. The chassis must be grounded
properly. This ensures that the induced current and leakage current flow to the
ground safely and the anti-electromagnetic interference capability of the device is
improved.
Use a ground cable to connect the ground point of the service subrack to the
ground bar of the equipment room or the ground. It is recommended that the
ground resistance of the equipment room be less than 10 ohms. In addition,
comply with the related national or local standards.

Power Consumption
NOTE
The power consumption of a service subrack is tested based on the following conditions:
● Operating voltage: –53.5 V DC.
● Operating temperature: 25°C.
● Static power consumption: power consumption of the board when all ports are idle, and
no optical module is installed on optical ports.
● Maximum power consumption: All ports carry 100% load.
● Typical power consumption: half of the sum of static power consumption and maximum
power consumption.
● For access devices, power consumption (unit: W) is generally converted into heat
consumption (unit: BTU/h). The conversion formula is 1 W = 3.412 BTU/h.
Configuration
The MA5800T-X17 service subrack supports the high-speed backplane HA01BPLA
and low-speed backplane HA01BLLA.
