• Introduction
We chose this topic to have a deep knowledge about what is actually happening within the cyber space affecting
the mental health of students. We want to study this field of bullying because nowadays many young people are
really affected by gadgets. Often in school gadgets like cellphones are used but it is unknown to others that each
are also experiencing bullying within cyberspace. This study can help with more information regarding
cyberbullying in the local branch of the country, especially in schools.
Cyberbullying has been around since the early days of the internet. It is believed to have originated in the
late 1990s, when the internet was first becoming popular. Cyberbullying is a form of bullying that takes place
online, using technology such as social media, email, and text messaging. It can involve sending hurtful messages,
spreading rumors, or posting embarrassing photos or videos of someone. Cyberbullying can be very damaging to
victims, as it can be seen by a large number of people and can be difficult to escape. Since cyberbullying has
existed since the beginning of the internet, its beginning is impossible to determine. However, the popularity of
social media and other online platforms has led to an increase in its prevalence in recent years. Sending
threatening or abusive messages. Publishing embarrassing images or videos, or creating fictitious personas to
harass someone are just a few examples of the various ways that cyberbullying manifests.
Effects of cyberbullying may limit students academic performances that commit of higher absenteeism rate, often
experience Depression, Low self - esteem that may last a life time, Shyness, Loneliness, Physical illness, and
threatened or attempted a self harm. Sometimes effects of cyberbullying is students committing of missing
school, Dislike school, and also receiving lower grades that cause of academic failures. They may experience
various negative emotions, such as sadness, anger, frustration, and humiliation. They may also feel isolated and
alone, as if they have someone to turn to. The victims may also suffer academically, as they may be too
embarrassed to go to school or participate in class. In some cases the victims may even consider suicide.
Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. And while the effects of real-world bullying behavior are not to be dismissed,
the effects of cyberbullying can actually be much worse. As parents, it is up to you to understand the true impact
of cyberbullying, to recognize a change in your child’s behavior as a result of cyberbullying, and to find a way to
help your child in a supportive manner.
The realm of cyberbullying Is fraught with unsettling facts. Numerous studies have revealed its
pervasive nature. Adolescents and teenagers are particularly vulnerable, with a significant portion reporting
having experienced some form of cyberbullying. The consequences can be devastating, leading to anxiety,
depression, and even suicidal thoughts. It’s not just a youth issue either. Cyberbullying extends its reach into the
lives of adults, where the consequences can be equally severe. Social media platforms and online communities,
while connecting us, have also become breeding grounds for harassment. Many studies have been conducted and
say that cyber bullying has a great impact on the lives or behavior of students, so a law has been made to counter
or reduce the source of cyber bullying. The Philippines acknowledges the detrimental effects of cyberbullying and
has implemented laws to address this issue. The Anti-Bullying Act of 2013 (Republic Act No. 10627) recognizes the
importance of preventing and responding to bullying, including cyberbullying, in educational institutions. Schools
are mandated to adopt policies and mechanisms to effectively handle and address bullying incidents. House of

representatives (2019). According to this law, cyber bullying has an effect on the displayed behavior of children in
their community.
The purpose of this study Is to examine the frequency and media used to perpetrate cyberbullying, as well
as the relationship that it has with the academic, social, and emotional development of undergraduate students.
While cyberbullying is nothing new to us, we wanted to know how severe the impacts are based on conducting a
study about it. We wanted others to be aware of what and how it affects a student’s performance in the
classroom and how it changes their habits. Bullying also occurred prior to the internet, but it didn’t have an
impact on kids’ lives outside of their homes, bedrooms, and living spaces. Parents, educators, and mental health
professionals in our communities are aware of the harm that cyberbullying can bring about, yet preventing it can
be challenging.
This study aims to explore the effects of cyber bullying to a student which will answer the following questions:

2. Literature Review
This chapter presents the relevant literature and studies that the researcher considered in strengthening the importance
of the present study. It also presents the synthesis of the art to fully understand the research for better comprehension of the study
about cyber bullying.
Cyberbullying is a troubling and pervasive issue in today’s digital age. It involves the use of technology, such as social media,
messaging apps, or online platforms, to harass, intimidate, or harm individuals. This form of bullying can have serious emotional and
psychological consequences for its victims, making it a critical concern in the realm of online safety and digital ethics. Some researchers
also did their study about what are the effects of cyberbullying to students academic performance and their behavior, the victims of
cyberbullying, under great emotional stress, are unable to concentrate on their studies, and thus their academic progress is adversely
affected (Faryadi, 2011) which shows how big the impact of cyberbullying is for a student to get distracted by it during studying. Also,
Since the victims are often hurt psychologically, the depressive effect of cyberbullying prevents students from excelling in their studies
(Faryadi, 2011).
That as we can observe is very evident in most of the victims, and how they act after experiencing it. In the emotional field,
students commonly question their relationships, direction in life, and self-worth (Rey et al., 2011). A balanced personality is one which
is emotionally adjusted. Emotional adjustment is essential for creating a sound personality. Physical, intellectual mental and esthetical
adjustments are possible when emotional adjustment is made (Ziapour et al., 2018). Inner disorders may result from questions about
identity and can sometimes lead to personal crises (Gerdes and Mallinckrodt, 1994). Emotional problems may be manifested as global
psychological distress, somatic distress, anxiety, low self-esteem, or depression. Impediments to success in emotional development
include depression and anxiety, stress, substance abuse, and relationship problems (Beebe, 2010). Base from their study they basically
are pertaining also to the effects of cyberbullying, mentioning things that might happen to a student once they’ve experienced it, the
feelings that they may feel after and how it’s going to affect them badly in the future and how they’d socialize with people from then.
According to Citation Willard (2004a), cyberbullying can take different forms, with the main forms ranging from flaming, to
harassment, to cyberstalking and also cyberbullying can occur at different age levels and in different geographical. Areas It is said
here that cyberbullying really affects people’s lives and there is a series of ways to make you lose or get hit, it ranges from flaming to
harassment to cyberstalking and cyberbullying does not choose age or place. According to (Besag, 1989; Ma, 2001) Some studies on
Page | 4
IJLLT 2(1):10-14
traditional bullying identified a victim–bully cycle in school it was found that students who are physically stronger are less likely to be
either victims or bullies.
According to Phillip Thomas, Slee (2020) cyberbullying is a relatively new and serious form of bullying with negative social
and emotional effects on both victims and perpetrators. The study also the effect of cyberbullying to those students that experience it.
This study examined gender and age of cyberbullying bystanders out of (2019). Bases of the study of Slee, girls were more prosocial
in helping students who were cyberbullied than boys. Some of the girls experience the cyberbullying cause suicide and psychological
distress, anxiety and mental abuse. Their results of the study suggested bystanders to cyberbullying were most likely hot to do anything
or help the person cyberbullied at the time. Cyberbullying can cause suicide and affect their behavior that can cause depression,
anxiety, low self-esteem and psychological distress. It is important to study cyberbullying because we have a broader understanding
of it and know its effect on the people who experience it. By studying cyberbullying, researchers can gather data to understand the
problem. Some of the researchers hers studying the cyberbullying to know what are the effects of cyberbullying to the academic
performance of the students.
According to Robin Kowalski (2018) Cyberbullying victims fear that parents or other authority figures will remove their
technology, the means by which victimization is occurring. To understand the importance of studying cyberbullying, it is important to
first be cognizant of the wired culture in which youth today are developing. According to N. E. Willard (2018) Cyberbullying includes
flaming, denigration, impersonation, outing and trickery, exclusion, and cyberstalking. Prevalence rates of cyberbullying are highly
variable across studies for a number of different reasons including: the general versus specific method by which cyberbullyin g
victimization is determined; the time parameter used to assess cyberbullying; and the liberal versus conservative criteria used to
determine that the behavior occurred. Most of the research examining cyberbullying prevalence rates has focused on samples of
middle and high school age youth. Similar to race, sexual orientation’s relationship to cyberbullying victimization and perpetration
has received significantly less attention than age or gender.
Cyberbullying, self-esteem, empathy and loneliness. According to Gayle Brewer and Jade Kerslake Cyberbullying is a unique
phenomenon, distinguished from traditional bullying by the speed at which information is distributed, permanence of material and
availability of the victims. However a paucity of research in this area, and few studies have examine the factors contributing of
cyberbullying behavior. The present study investigated the influence of selfesteem, empathy and loneliness on cyberbullying
victimization and perpetration. The standard multiple regressions revealed that together, loneliness, empathy and self-esteem
predicted levels of cyberbullying victimization and perpetration. Self-esteem was a significant individual predictor of cyberbullying
victimization and perpetration, such that those with low self-esteem were most likely to report experience of cyberbullying. Empathy
was a significant individual predictor of cyberbullying perpetration, such that as empathy decreases, likelihood of cyberbullying
perpetration increases.
According to L. Watts, J. Wagner, B Velasquez, P. Behrens (2017) cyberbullying has increased. Universities and colleges have
implemented more ways to reach students over the Internet and by other electronic means; consequently, it is important to investigate
the prevalence of cyberbullying in higher education. This literature review was created to raise awareness of this continuing trend of
cyberbullying among college students. Cyberbullying is defined as intent to consistently harass another individual to cause harm via
any electronic method, including social media, and includes defamation, public disclosure of private facts, and intentional emotional
distress. An exhaustive search of current literature was conducted using a variety of databases including Academic Search Complete.
Overall, cyber bullying is a very pervasive issue for the lives of teenagers who use or explore the internet. Cyber bullying causes
a lot of harm, especially anxiety and depression in its victims, and in the case of young people, it will affect their socializing, academic
performance and expressing their feelings, which will affect all aspects of their lives. Personal life The same goes for all the victims of
cyber bullying, not only young people because in our time it is not only young people who are prone to this issue, most adults use
social media to harm their acquaintances.

3. Methodology
This chapter presents the research design, setting and participants of the study, sample procedure, sources of data, data
collection procedure and data analysis procedure.
In line with this, researchers have chosen 14 participants to explore their unique experiences, students who experiences
cyberbullying,, changes and effects perspectives.
Researcher-made interview questions, phone camera and phone audio recording was used by the researchers in
conducting this study and also to gather needed data from the respective respondents.
The crafted questionnaire composed of research-made interview question that researchers validated from the experts
who guided the researchers to come up with the interview question.
3.6 Validation
To validate the questionnaire, Mrs. Leslie M. Maglalang Sario and Mrs. Vanessa Yuan were the experts that researchers
get to inquire for the suggestions and to conduct the process of validating the interview questions. After the validation, the
interview questions were revised based on the suggestions of the validators.
3.7 Administration
The researcher asked permission from the Office of the Principal through a letter of approval to conduct the study. The
interview questions were asked according to the number of the participants. It was administered personally by the researchers to
the Dalig National High School students to ensure the validity and reliability of the data needed. The collected data will be
confidential and will be only utilized in the purpose of the study.

IJLLT 2(1):10-14
This chapter presents and interprets the data gathered from the participants composed of students in Dalig National
High School. The data were gathered using interview questions. This study aimed to determine the effects of Cyberbullying to a
grade 10 students well-being at Dalig National High School. The results of the study are presented in tabular form with their
corresponding themes.
Participant 1
The first respondent is currently a grade 10 female student of section Topaz. An outstanding student in her class.
Based on the respondent’s statement, the reason why she developed trust issues is because she experienced being cyberbullied
back then at her previous school, wherein she stated that “Yeah, it took a lot of me I don’t even trust my parents now because of
that,” which lead her to decide to not open up to her parents, It was a good decision for her because she also gave herself a
chance to be the better version of herself,
We therefore concluded that, respondent one has developed trust issues since then, because of what happened and that made
her agree to us when we asked her for interview for others to be aware of what it feels to be cyberbullied.
Participant 2
The second respondent is currently a grade 10 female student of section Topaz. A student who’s doing well in her class.
Based on the respondent’s statement, the reason behind why she developed trust issues after being cyberbullied was because
the ones she didn’t expect it from is from where she received the hatred, she stated that “I developed trust isues on my parents,
and on some other uhh.. people that I love, because there’s actually this one time, that I tried to tell them what’s the problem I’m
dealing with but, my mom just said that I was overreacting “ that lead her to not open up to her parents again, and distant herself
from people so in that way she’ll avoid getting hurt by someone.
After all, respondent two is at the state of controlling her emotions and feelings and maintaining to be distant to others’ at this
time, specially after what she have been through way back the last school year. In addition this interview helped researchers to
realize how it affects a person who’ve experienced being cyberbullied, that not only other people could do it but also those
people that you trust and love the most.
Participant 3
Our participant 3 from grade 10 garnet, male 16 years old
Based on the interview I did with him, he said that he had experienced cyberbullying, he said that when he was bullied, he
deactivated his social media accounts, but what helped him when he was bullied was his teacher and He said that because of the
cyberbullying, he lost confidence in himself
After that, he became a participant because he could share his though about the topic and he also said that he was more careful
with his friends and also with his posts on his social media accounts and lastly he said that now he has a very bad trash issue.
Participant 4
Based on my interview with him, he experienced cyberbullying when he was bullied, she said that she cry badly and he said that
he became stronger, what helped him when he was bullied was his family and his teachers, he said that she lost Her confident in
herself but she said it also hurts because she says that she is being crushed even though he is not doing anything and that will still
haunt you and he observed to himself after experiencing cyberbullying is what made him stronger.
She said she participating to inform many people that they need to learn how to be strong for themselves and she said that she
had a bit of a trash issue.
Participant 5
The 5th respondent is currently a grade 10 male student of section Pearl student who is doing well in her class.
Page | 5
IJLLT 2(1):10-14
Based from the response statements as a student who experienced cyber bullying it is difficult because you have many things
you should want to do but you can’t do it because other people might say or judge you and he also said that he was bullied
because of his gender who is not accepted by other people and what he does to ease the burden of the bully on him is to
communicate with his family and there are friends who will tell him about his problems
We therefore concluded in the interview that even though he has experienced great things that will happen in his life, he still
continues to fight and does not agree to lose or give up on the problems that come in his life.
Participant 6
The 6th respondent is currently a grade 10 male student of section Pearl student who is doing well in her class.
Based on the respondent statements, he said he has never experienced cyber bullying, but he knows what it feels like when a
person experiences cyber bullying because it has a big impact on the life of someone who has been bullied and their studies are
neglected because they are afraid to do the things they want to do and the one who leans on or makes it worse to take the
burden off the cyber bullying is his family because when you have a deep relationship with your family you will quickly take the
burden off because of their advice
We therefore concluded in the interview that even though he has never experienced being bullied, he knows what it feels like to
be bullied, which is why he prepares himself for the unexpected that will happen in his life.
Participant 7
The 7th respondent is a female student with an age of 16 currently a grade 10 student at DALIG NATIONAL HIGHSCHOOL
Based on the statement of the respondent. She experienced being Cyberbullied back then in elementary days. According to
her it affect her confidence which lead from anxiety, depression, trust issue, and anger issues. The people who help her to cope
up with Cyberbullying is her mother and teachers who always given an advice & motivation. In this way she able to lift up herself
and be strong enough to fight those bullies.
We therefore conclude that 7th participant experience Cyberbullying which greatly affect her as an individual however it doesn’t
stop her to achieve her dream because she is surrounded by genuine people who cares for her.
Participant 8
The 8th respondent is a 16 years old Female student at DALIG NATIONAL HIGHSCHOOL grade 10 diamond and she is an achiever
in her class.
Base on the statement of the respondent, she experienced being Cyberbullied many times. This bad experienced affect her
confidence and trust issue with the people who surrounds her. She was able to face those bullies with her own strength and
capabilities. She show that no matter what those bullies do to her, she will ignore them and never back down
We therefore conclude that the 8th participant is strong enough to fight her own battle. It only indicates that she is a strong
independent woman who believes in her own strength.
Participant 9
Participant 9 is currently in Grade 10 Topaz in Dalig National High School, male and he’s 16 years old.
Based on the respondent statement, he said that he experience cyberbullying. He said that the cyberbullying caused him
depression, even though he experience cyberbullied God always help him to pass this problem and he also added that It’s better
to just let them go and ignore them.
Therefore, we concluded in the interview that even though you have a problem, just let it go and just think that God is there to
always help you so that you will be okay.
Participant 10
Page | 8
IJLLT 2(1):10-14
Participant 10 is currently in Grade 10 Topaz in Dalig National High School, female and he’s 16 years old.
Based on the respondent statement, she experience cyberbullying, She said that cyberbullying is not easy for him, and she said
that it is not easy to accept because that issue has spread throughout the school. Even though he experiences cyberbullying her
teacher helps him to overcome this problem.
Therefore, we concluded in the interview that even though you experience cyberbullying, be strong because there are people you
can approach like teachers, and also don’t be afraid to face problems.
Participant 11
The 11th participant is currently a grade 10 student, female from section diamond.
She doesn’t expirienced cyberbullying, she is doing good as a student, but on the other hands she says that “ If ever.. I will
encounter a cyberbullying experience [ uhmm..] I guess, I’ll just ignore it.” Her way to contradict the bullies was to just ignore
them, and also she added “ for peace, because if I don’t ignore it, it might get worse ” as she stated. Also, if she expirienced
cyberbullying she says that she says that it might ruin her trust and her way of communicating to peoples.
After all, she stated that cyberbullying has a big impact in students well-being, her as a student without a phone rarely experience
cyberbullying but she is exposed to a lot of teenager who experience it that’s why she responded to our questions as if she knows
the feeling of being cyberbullied.
Participant 12
The 12th participant is currently grade 10 student, female from section diamond. She passed the researchers criteria which is
stated above.
This student expirienced cyberbullying for a long time, she said “ in terms of sending random nudes on Instagram usually, that’s
the typical cyberbullying [na.. na..] that I’ve experienced ” she’s stating here that she expirienced cyberbullying by people sending
some random nudes and etchetera. On the other hand, she also expirienced being cyberbullied by people telling her that she is
over-weight. That’s why she developed eating disorder as she stated. Also, it affects her well-being and health cause she refuse to
eat more often because people on social media keep posting a meme and humors about her.
To summarize, she expirienced a lot of kind of cyberbullying, it targets her sexually, academics and self-esteem.
Participant 13
THE 13th RESPONDENT IS CURRENTLY A GRADE 10 SAPPHIRE FEMALE. AN OUTSTANDING STUDENT IN HER CLASS.
Based on my interview, he said that he has not experienced cyber bullying. His parents are the ones who can understand him
“probably my parents if ever” is the one that will help him the most because he will understand him well
What was able to convince him to do an interview based on his statement is that he is willing to spread it as if he is willing to give
awareness or his statement to people who will experience cyber bullying since he has no experience he just based on the feeling
he feels experienced ones.
Participant 14
THE 14th RESPONDENT IS CURRENTLY A GRADE 10 SAPPHIRE FEMALE. AN OUTSTANDING STUDENT IN HER CLASS.
Based on the interview I did with our 14 participants, he experienced cyber bullying and those who bullied him were his friends
and he said it was a joke, but he was also hurt. What he did to overcome this experience was to let it go. Than his mental health
will be affected even more that when he is affected it will be more difficult for him so he lets it go, What helped him was his
family, his friends and also God and he also helped himself to get out of this experience , his answer to what is the effect of cyber-

bullying on him is similar to the answer of Participant 13, which is his mental health, even though he says it’s okay, it still affects
his mental health, he changes his thinking and has difficulty socializing with others. person
After everything was over, he was able to manage his feelings, he thought carefully about how to get out of that situation, but he
said there was a rift in his trust and he always thought what if it happened to him again, he agreed to do another people.
Table 1
Table one shows some of the experiences of students in cyberbullying. It is divided into 5 column. Categorized and arrange
according to its theme which is ; gender discrimination, face shaming, body shaming, sexual bullying and defamation.
Based on the result, it shows that participant 5 experiences gender discrimination which he stated that a lot of people can’t
accept. On the other hand, participant 11 experience body shaming, she stated that people used to call her fat back then.
Moreover, participant 1 experience face shaming, she stated that people used to make fun of her because she looks like a sloth.
Also, participant 11 experience sexually cyberbullying, people she didn’t even know sending her a random nude pictures, also her
unsolicited pictures that she did not even asking for. While 1 and 1 experience defamation in social media, people posting stuffs
to hurt their feeling and state nonsense towards them. On the other hand, other students didn’t provide a specific statement.
Overall, the results shows that every student suffer from different kind of cyberbullying.

Summary of Findings
Based on the analyses and interpretation of the data gathered, the findings were hereby summarized.
5. Conclusion
In the light of the findings, the following conclusions were drawn:
1. The effects of cyberbullying to students well-being is that their experience limits their social interactions, affects their academic
performances, having trust issue, doing something that can harm their physical being also developing fears, anxiety and depression.
2. The findings of this research are relevant to the wider study of the psychological effects of being cyberbullied of a student causing
them to stay away from people and develop trauma through internet.
3. Most of the participants stated that they are now afraid to socialize from people specially to those who hurt them, also most of
them develop fears, anxiety, and depression. In addition, students tend to hurt themselves and also forced to change.
4. Given the population of students who experience cyberbullying really hoping that someday people will acknowledge and
see the wrong with themselves than pointing out some ones imperfection, they are also hoping that as soon as possibles
people around them will learn to approach someone that is suffering.
5. However the results shows that not every student surrender and give up because of some people keep pulling them
down , they use their experience to became a better version of them selves and prove those people that they are more
than what they saw.
6. The all over result explains that at some point, experiencing cyberbullied can cause a harmful effect, mentally, physically,
emotionally and can almost kill someone. But, at the same time, when people practice not to hurt them selves and use their

positivity to fight what ever cyberbullying had caused them the can eradicate the negativity and use it to became much stronger
and became a better version.

For students. If you’ve experienced being cyberbullied too never think that it’s the end, Instead make it a stepping stone to prove
them that they’re wrong about what they’ve told about you. Be wise enough and mature enough when encountering these
problems in social media. In that way you’ll avoid chaos and use every platform without being the cause or victim of cyberbullying.
For parents. Parents should consult their child to know if they are experiencing something that’s making them uncomfortable, be
their guide instead of judging and blaming them to quickly without hearing their side first. As a parent know how can you comfort
your child whenever they’re feeling down.
For teachers. Teachers could also help by talking to their students or by being there for them if they want someone to talk to that
they aren’t comfortable telling their family yet.
For Netizens. Know that once you’re in a cyberspace you’re just interacting with a human too. Be careful with your words as it
may lead to misinterpretation and could cause an issue specially because you’re in cyberspace you would attract more people to
interfere with what’s already complicated.
For future researchers. Future researchers may use this research as their support or basis in their future research if they want to
learn more about the effects of cyberbullying to students well-being.

RESPONSE 01
SUBJECT: GRADE 10 STUDENTS

IJLLT 2(1):10-14
SECTION: TOPAZ
SEX: FEMALE
RESEARCHER: GLORIBEE
RESEARCHER: We’re students or researcher's [po] from grade 11 HUMSS B, and we're conducting a research about effects of
cyberbullying to students well-being.
(1.) RESEARCHER: So now I’m going to ask you questions po both and to get.. get you're insights about this topic, so first
question [po] is "how are you as a student"?.
PARTICIPANT 1: [Uhm..] I think as student I’m really doing well and I’m also in my top.. top of my class, and I think that I’m quite
good at academics so I don't really have any problems.
PARTICIPANT 2: [Uhm..] for me [uhm.. tsk] actually I’ve experienced a lot this [uhh..] past few days in school, [uhm..] there has
been.. [uh..] some things that they're saying about me, I heard, and [uhh..] I’m also doing well in my class and [tsk] I think for us
student since [uhh..] we're graduating, I think [uhh..] we're doing pretty good.
(2.) RESEARCHER: So next question is, do you ever experience being cyberbullied?
PARTICIPANT 1: Yeah, I think I have, there's someone in my classmates back then that would bully me on Facebook, they would
sometimes po. post things about me, saying things that I look like some kind of animal or other types of they call sloth whore or
something.
PARTICIPANT 2: [uhm..] for me I have experience uhh cyberbully, it's [uhh..] this [uhh...] generation it's pretty much uhh.. getting
normalized, uhh cyberbullying is getting normalized by people thinking that [uhh..] it's normal to bully people uhh online,
specially those [uhh..] people who wants to put their anger out on Facebook, like they're posting stuffs and [uhh.. tsk] it's [ano...]
it's very [uhh..] I don't really approve that cyberbullying is getting normalized and because for me that also experienced it, I think
uhh there are really people out there that you cannot really [uhh..] control their emotions.
(3.) RESEARCHER: So next question is "how did you overcome being cyberbullied?".
PARTICIPANT1: Well (chuckles) [uhh..] it took a lot of me, [actual..] specially in my mental health I started self-harm because of
that [and..] I but I stopped it because I realized that's not actually my problem and I’m not the problem, they're the problem. And
I realized that it's not in my control for them to think of me like that, so I don't really care anymore.
PARTICIPANT 2: Uhh same as her answer, my experience with cyberbullying I overcame it by, [Uhh..] I just ignore them, I don't
really.. I don't really care about what they say about me, because if I’m doing well in my class and [uhh..] doing well for my
parents I think they really don't have the rights to say anything about me, so I don't really care anymore.
(4.) RESEARCHER: Next question is, "who or what helps you to overcome cyberbullying
PARTICIPANT 1: I don't really reach out to people, the one thing that helps me is probably my reading.. my reading habits so I..
every time I‘m sad or every time I’m feeling overwhelmed I just read some books or thru internet I read some mangas or
sometimes watch movies, that's how I help myself to overcome.
PARTICIPANT 2: For me to overcome [tsk uhmm..] I [uhh..] talk to my friends, my real friends about some things that I hear about
or things I see [uhm..] and I also talk to god, I think god is my [uhh..] like he's the only one who's in my side when it comes to
these things like [uhm..] I just pray every night that everything will be okay, and I’ll have a good day for tomorrow, and so all of
them everyone.
(5.) RESEARCHER: Next question is "in what way does cyberbullying affects your well-being?"
PARTICIPANT 1: It affects me a lot since [I re..] I tried self-harming and other things to harm myself, and it affects me a lot [sin..]
because due to being bullied I started getting distracted from school, started to doing bad things and I even started yelling at
my parents, blaming them for everything, so I think it's affects me a lot.
PARTICIPANT 2: same as her answer [uhm..] it also happened to me, I also did self-harming, and also started to blame my
parents to [uhh..] those people that isn't even their fault, [uhmm..] and it also affect my school last year I didn't do very well at
my school, because I started to [uhh..] distance myself specially to those people that hurt me in our classroom.
so I just started [uh..] to stop going to school because, I don't think I can‘t handle them anymore and it's just the best way to
avoid them.
(6.) REASERCHER: Next is, "What urged you to accept being interviewed?
PARTICIPANT 1: When I heard that the topic was about cyberbullying I just want everyone to be aware of what it can actually do
to people and I want everyone to know the reality of being cyberbullied that' all.
PARTICIPANT 2: Uhm for me [I... uhh.. hmm..] for me the urge that made me to do this interview, was I want to inform those
people that had.. had experience with cyberbullying that [uhh..] don't listen to what they say, and [uhmm..] specially to those
people that [uhh..] does self harming, and [uhh..] does bad things just to overcome the feeling of being cyberbullied, don't let
them affect you, because they're just there for [uhh.. tsk] for.. making things hard, when its supposed to be easy, and I think
[uhh..] we have different types of.. we have different types of feelings and different types of sensitivity, so sometimes [uhh..]
Page | 5
IJLLT 2(1):10-14
other people when they get [uhh..] cyberbullied for them it's really a big deal and they start to. to do really bad things or it can
even lead to [uhmm..] suicide, so I think just don't let them affect you, even though it really hurt you or if someone very close to
you has done something to you that you didn't like, specially the cyberbullying [uhmm..] ano there's more. there's more to you
than it is to them, so just don't bother.
(7.) RESEARCHER: Next one is "What changes have you observed after being cyberbullied?
PARTICIPANT 1: [uhm I..] changes I saw in myself is probably I have trust issues now, back then I used to be friendly and I
specially I trust a lot of people every time I when someone talks to me talk to them back but then right now, on my state every
time someone talks to me it's either I get anxious or got panic attacks because I don't really like talking too much people now
cause what I think of them now is like they will do something bad to me, and they will do something that would hurt me.
PARTICIPANT 2: [Uhh..] for me, [uhh..] because the changes I saw [uhh..] before and now it is a really big change specially back
then, I was [uhh..] immature and didn't have any knowledge about how to control myself to stop thinking about it, or how to
ignore them, but now [uhh..] I’ve learned to be able to control my feelings and [uhmm..] I’ve also learned that they're just doing
it because you're better, they're just doing it because [they..] they want something that you don't have so [they start.. they start
to bully you so..] they start to bully you, so you look down on yourself and they get what they want, they get the top and then
you go to your lowest so it is a really big change because cyberbullying is [very..] a very serious thing and it can really affect
[uhh..] some peoples lives, so [uhmm..] I think I did a very good job and [uhh..] taking [and..] time and learning from what
happened specially last year, so now I feel better because [uhmm..] my classmates are very nice this year, unlike last year and just
like her, [also] I also became to have [uhh..] trust issues with people and back then I was really friendly with people too, like I talk
to them and [uhmm..] they're nice but you don't really know them that much, like you can know them as a very nice person but,
deep down you'll just find something to hurt yourself and you'll know that wow they actually talk like that about me, like you
don't even realize (chuckles) so.. [uhmm..] yeah now [I ju..] I every time you see me uhh like in the seven eleven, or like
somewhere I’m just alone by myself cause I prefer peace than uhmm being with people that actually [uhh..] don't how do I say
this.. that don't appreciate you.
(8.) RESEARCHER: So last question is, "do you develop trust issues after being cyberbullied?"
PARTICIPANT 1: Yeah, it took a lot of me I don't even trust my parents now because of that, I thought that if I told them what
was happening they would eventually just be on side with them.. and tell me bad things so I really developed a lot of trust issues,
even to my other families, [to my..] I only trust some of my friends now, there's only one person that actually knows me and to
my best friend who's been with me since grade 9, so she knows a lot about me, so yeah I think I developed trust issues.
PARTICIPANT 2: For me, I did develop trust issues [uhmm..] and [uhm..] I developed trust issues on my parents, and on some
other [uhh..] people that I love, because that’s actually this one time, that I tried to tell them what's the problem I’m dealing with
but, my mom just said that I was overreacting and after that I just really stopped [uhmm..] trying to [uhh..] tell them about what
I’m going through with my life, because [uhmm..] being called overreacting is actually such a big deal for me, because I was just
trying to open my feelings and then they say that I’m overreacting [uhmm..] the only person that I trust right now is someone
very special to me, and I’m happy that I actually have a one person that I could tell my problems to and they're not going to
judge me, and they're just. they're just there for me. and listen to me so yeah.
RESEARCHER: So, Thank you for taking this interview with us [po], and [uhh..] good luck to graduating journey n‘yo.

RESEARCHER: WARREN
RESEARCHER: Good morning student we are the grade 11 HUMSS B researcher we‘re going to conduct a research we‘re going to
ask a simple question about cyber bullying.
(1.) RESEARCHER: The first question is how are you as a student?
PARTICIPANT 5: [ahmm..] being a student syempre na ngayung grade 10 bilang student nakaka kaba kasi maraming mas
maraming obstacle course na pagdadaanan. ( [ahmm..] being a student of course now in grade 10 as a student it’s scary because
there are many more obstacle courses to go through )
PARTICIPANT 6: [ahmm..] same with *** as astudent but some times will be hard because the obstacles like he said too.
(2.) RESEARCHER: Ok, the next question is who or what help you to over past the cyber bully?
PARTICIPANT 5: [ahmm..] yes, sometimes naranasan ko na mabully dahil na rin lalong lalo na sa aking kasarian na hindi pa
tanggap ng ibang tao. ( [ahmm..] yes, sometimes he experienced being bullied by us, especially because of my gender which is not
accepted by other people )
PARTICIPANT 6: [ahmm..] no, I don’t experience yet, but I know the feeling of being cyber bullied.
(3.) RESEARCHER : Ok, the next question is how did you overcome being cyber bullied?
PARTICIPANT 6: [ahmm..] over come cyber bullying something hard because of being connected with people some it spread like
a disease but it can [ahmm..] over coming it will be a great factor for being new person and [ahmm..] expecting new challenges.
( I can’t say anything, because when you’re in cyber it’s like
you’re afraid to mix with other people, try what you like because once you try again, others will judge you. )
(4.) RESEARCHER: Ok, the next question is who or what helps you to overcome cyber bullying?
PARTICIPANT 6 : [ahmm..] first is of course your family you are with your family and you have a great relationship on your family
you can stablish ‘yung ( the ) experience because of their advices and good moral and of course friends, friends can also
comforts you.
Page | 5
IJLLT 2(1):10-14
( [ahmm..] like *** we must have a good
relationship with our family and we must have trusted friends ahm and above all we must also have confidence in ourselves and
don’t pay attention to people who bully us and what other hurtful words to you or them. )
(5.) RESEARCHER: The next question is in what those cyber bullying effects your well being?
PARTICIPANT 5: [ahmm..] epekto ng cyber bullying pwedeng maapektohan ang confident mo at maaring maapektohan ‘yung
sarili mo ‘yung komunidad mo at lalo na talaga yung pag aaral mo lalo na talaga ‘yung pag aaral malaking epekto ang pag
bubully dahit may tendency na mapabayaan mo s‘ya kailangan sarili muna ang pag aaral at ‘yung magiging future mo. (
[ahmm..] the effect of cyber bullying can affect your confidence and it can affect yourself, your community and especially your
studies especially your studies. Bullying has a big impact even though there is a tendency to be neglected. You need to study
yourself first and that will be your future.)
PARTICIPANT 6: [ahmm..] same with *** din po [ahmm..] cyber bullying can affect your life style of course will be stressful
sometimes pero ganon po talaga cyber bullying na po ‘yun e. ( [ahmm..] same with *** also [ahmm..] cyber bullying can affect
your life style of course will be stressful sometimes but that’s what cyber bullying really is.)
(6.) RESEARCHER: Ok, the next question is what urges you to accept being interviewed?
PARTICIPANT 6: [ahmm..] being interviewed can always [ah..] sometimes help you because [ahmm.. ah..] you can realize what the
others person will be said and you can used that to courage yourself and that you are not the only one who experience cyber
bullying.
( [ah..] mine is like an interview, like what exactly is cyber bullying, ok, so that we can get an idea and above
all, you can get an idea and what exactly should be done when you get bullied like that. )
(7.) RESEARCHER: Ok, the next question is what changed have you observed after being cyber bullied?
PARTICIPANT 6: [ah..] cyber bullying can really affect like ah what *** said earlier it can be changed your life style, but if you are
[ahmm..] pag nalagpasan mo ‘yun [ah..] it will really affect your life style like [ano, ahm..] mapapatibay ‘yung pagiging ikaw tapos
pag talagang nalagpasan mo rin ‘yun marami kang matutunan sa buhay mo. ( [ah..] cyber bullying can really affect like ah what
*** said earlier it can be changed your life style, but if you are [ahmm..] when you overcome that [ah..] it will really affect your life
style like [what, ahm..] being you will be strengthened and then when you really overcome that, you will learn a lot in your life.)
PARTICIPANT 5: [uhmm..] ano nga ulit ‘yung tanong? ( What’s the question again?)
RESEARCHER: What changed have you observed after being cyber bullied?
( [ahmm..] more when you are bullied instead of decreasing your confidence if you
don’t have confidence in yourself it increases more and more, especially your confidence because you know in yourself that you can,
you can do something, you can show it and you can make them feel that what you are and who you are doesn’t matter, as if their
opinion doesn’t matter to you anymore, as long as you do what you want and what is appropriate.)
(8.) RESEARCHER: Ok, the last question is do you develop trust issues after being cyber bullied?
PARTICIPANT 5: [ahm..] yes I develop trust issue dahil sa panahon mahirap na mag tiwala kahit katiwa-tiwala ang isang tao. (
[ahm..] yes I develop trust issue because nowadays it’s hard to trust even if someone is trustworthy. )
PARTICIPANT 6: [ahm..] yes, you will develop trust issue because of bullying, because bullying is really hard and sometimes even
you friends backstab you [ahmm..] will be used with some your information your privacy and will leak that [ano] person is
backstabbing you, hindi naman nating masasabi na backstabber sila pero ganon po talaga meron po tayong nagawa sa kanila
[ahmm..] because trust issue will be hard because some circumstances you will develop your skills kung kailan mo talaga sila pag
kakatiwalaan talaga lalo na sa privacy mo .( [ahm..] yes, you will develop trust issue because of bullying, because bullying is really
hard and sometimes even your friends backstab you [ahmm..] will be used with some of your information your privacy and will leak
that [ what] person is backstabbing you, we can’t say that they are backstabbers but that’s really what we did to them [ahmm..]
because trust issue will be hard because some circumstances you will develop your skills when you really trust them especially for
your privacy.)

RESEARCHER: We’re student or researcher’s from grade 11-Humss B , and we are conducting a reseaech about effect of
cyberbullying to students well-being,
(1.) RESEARCHER: so now i’m gonna ask you a questions po to get insights about this topic, first question po is “How are
you as a student?
PARTICIPANT 7: Okay naman. (I‘m okay.)
PARTICIPANT 8: [Uhm] well I can’t say that I’m doing good but not that much. ([Uhm] well I can’t say that I’m doing good but not
that much.)
(2.) RESEARCHER: Next question is “ Do you ever experienced being Cyberbullied?”
PARTICIPANT 7: Yes, I experience Cyberbullying [uhm] at Grade 5 to Grade 6.
PARTICIPANT 8: Yes...many times.
(3.) RESEARCHER: So next question is “How did you overcome being Cyberbullied?”
PARTICIPANT 7: [Uhm] ini-ignore ko lang po sila para diko pinapansin ganon... But its still affect my mental health. ([Uhm] I just
ignore them so I don’t pay attention to that... But still it affect my mental health.)
PARTICIPANT 8: I just look at them and let them realize na yung kahihiyan nila na ginagawa sa akin and sa ibang tao, uhm hindi
ako nakikipag-usap or hindi ako... hindi ako nag ta-talkback sa kanila ano lang ginagawa ko yon lang tinititigan ko lang sila para
ma-realize nila na mali yung ginagawa nila at mahiya sila sa sarili nila. (I just look them and let them realize that the shame they
are doing to me and other victims of cyberbullying, [uhm], I don’t talk or I don’t... I don’t talk back to them, that’s all I do I just stare
at them so that they realize that what they are doing is wrong and they are ashamed of themselves.)
(4.) RESEACHER: Who or what helps you to overcome Cyberbullying?
PARTICIPANT 7: My mother... And my teacher’s because... They said uhmm baka inggit lang lahat ng yon so bakit nila nagagawa
yon... yung Cyberbullying. (My mother... And my teacher’s because... They said [uhm] maybe it’s all just envy so why do they do
that... Cyberbullying.)
PARTICIPANT 8: Can I say na walang tumulong saakin sarili ko lang. (Can I say that no one helped me but myself.)
(5.) RESEARCHER: In what way does Cyberbullying affect your well-being?
PARTICIPANT 7: [Uhm] nawalan ako ng confidence, I lost my confidence and [Uhm] nagkaroonako ng anxiety. ([Uhm] I lost my
confidence and [Uhm] I developed anxiety.)
PARTICIPANT 8: Tumaas yung Anxiety and depression ko trust issues and ma-sasabi kong tumaas din yung anger issues ko dahil
dun. (My anxiety, depression, and trust issues have increase I can say that my anger issues gotten worse because of Cyberbullying.)
(6.) RESEARCHER: What urged you to accept being interview?
PARTICIPANTS 7: Ano po ulit yung tanong.. [Ahh] ano [uhm] because na experience ko po yung Cyberbullying that’s why uhm
relate ako dun sa interview nyo. (What is the question again.. [Ahh] what [uhm] because I have experience with Cyberbullying
that’s why [uhm] I relate to that in your interview.)
PARTICIPANTS 8: I just wanna share my experience from Cyberbullying and to spread awareness nadin para sa mga kabataan
ngayon na nakakaranas ng cyberbullying. (I just wanna share my experience from Cyberbullying and to spread awareness for
today’s youth who experience cyberbullying.)
(7.) RESEARCHER: What changes have you observed after being Cyberbullied?
PARTICIPANTS 7: [Uhm] na observed?... kasi ngayon hindi na ako nakaka-experienced ng cyberbullying kase I can fight for my
self so... yon kaya ko na ipag-laban yung sarili ko. ([Uhm] observed?... because now I don’t experience cyberbullying because I can
fight for my self so... that’s what I can fight for myself.)
PARTICIPANTS 8: Ayon nga katulad nung sinabi ko sa previous question kanina tumaas yung trust issues ko and... ano po and
feeling ko lahat ng taong nakapaligid sakin is kinakausap ako or nilalapitan ako to take my advantage. (According to what I said
in the previous question earlier, my trust issues have increased and... I feel that all the people around me are talking to me or
approaching me to take advantage of me.)
(8.) RESEARCHER: Last question is “ Do you develop trust issues after being Cyberbullied?”
PARTICIPANT 7: Yes... I have trust issues lalo na sa mga nakapaligid ko because I didn’t sure na baka ganun din sila parang may
mga other issues padin sila sakin kaya yon that’s why I have trust issues. (Yes... I have trust issues especially with those people
around me because I wasn’t sure that they might be the same, it seems like they have other issues with me, so that’s why I have
trust issues.)
Page | 5
IJLLT 2(1):10-14
(Yes, of course
because my experience taught me that not everyone around me is my friend or good to me. The others are let’s say (can i say other
words?) like snakes like that, because they are taking me for granted for their own development and convinient so I’m not the type
to trust people or just get along with them.)
RESEARCHER: We’re researchers from Grade 11 HUMSS B, and we’re conducting a research about effects of cyberbullying to
students well-being.
(1.) RESEARCHER: So first question is “How are you as a student”?
PARTICIPANT 9: Okay lang naman. ( fine as well )
PARTICIPANT 10: I‘m fine.
(2.) RESEARCHER: Second question is, “Do you ever experience being cyberbullied”?
PARTICIPANT 9: Yes.
PARTICIPANT 10: Slight.
(3.) RESEARCHER: Next question is “How did you overcome being cyberbullied?”
PARTICIPANT 9: Hinayaan ko lang sya hanggang sa maging okay lahat. ( I just let it up until everything is okay. )
PARTICIPANT 10: Sakin nag relapse po. ( for me, I did relapse Po )
(4.) RESEARCHER: Next question is ”Who or what helps you to overcome Cyberbullying”?
PARTICIPANT 9: Mismong adviser ko. ( my own adviser )
PARTICIPANT 10: Saakin si God. ( For me, God. )
(5.) RESEARCHER: Next question is ”In what way does cyberbullying affects your well-being?”
PARTICIPANT 9: Sobrang apekto kasi, kumalat yung issue na nangyari saakin dito. ( Cause so much trouble because my issue has
spreads.)
PARTICIPANT 10: Saakin na depressed. ( Me, I developed depression. )
(6.) RESEARCHER: Next question is,”What urged you to accept being interviewed?”
PARTICIPANT 9: [ano..] hindi sya madaling tanggapin, kasi yung issue na yun kumalat buong school e kilala ako dito sa school
kaya mahirap syang tanggapin para sakin. ( [ ano.. ] It’s not easy to accept it, because that issue has spread throughout the school
and I’m known here at school, so it’s hard for me to accept it. )
PARTICIPANT 10: Saakin hinayaan ko lang. ( Mine, I just let it )
(7.) RESEARCHER: Next question is ”What changes have you observed after being cyberbullied?”
PARTICIPANT 9: [ano..] nagbago na,nanahimik ako yun pinagbago ko,di nalang ako nakiki ano sa mga salamuha sa mga taong
gumawa sa akin nun. ( [ ano.. ] I’ve changed, I kept quiet, that’s what I changed, I just stay away and make no interactions with the
people who did that to me. )
PARTICIPANT 10: Cancel sila sakin, exis na. ( They‘re not my friends anymore. )
(8.) RESEARCHER: Last question is,” Do you develop trust issue after being cyberbullied?”
PARTICIPANT 9: Yes.
PARTICIPANT 10: Yes.
PARTICIPANT 11 & 12
SUBJECT: GRADE 10 STUDENTS
SECTION: DIAMOND
SEX: FEMALE
RESEARCHER: ALMERA
RESEARCHER: So good morning [ah..] we are from [ah..] grade 11 HUMSS B [ah..] magc-conduct kami ng research about [ ah..]
cyber bullying, so mag- [ uhmm..] we are going to ask you some questions lang [ uhmm..] we‘re going to.. [ ahmm..] take your
insights about this topic.
(1.) RESEARCHER: So [ uhmm..] our first question is, how are you as a student?
Page | 20
IJLLT 2(1):10-14
PARTICIPANT 11: As a student we are doing good, pero meron ding something na.. nap-pressure. ( As a student we are doing
good, but there is also something... we are under pressure. )
PARTICIPANT 12: As a student, I feel like under pressure ako, like typical student lang, under pressure, pero as far as I could I..
[umm..] having this ano naman academic success, I‘m not satisfied but, you know, It‘s okay. As a student, I feel like under pressure
I, like typical student lang, under pressure, but as far as I could I.. [umm..] having this academic success so far, I’m not satisfied but,
you know, It’s okay. )
(2.) RESEARCHER: So, [ uhh.. ] do you ever experienced being cyberbullied?
PARTICIPANT 12: [hmm we..] kung [ uhh..] in terms of, ‘yung sending of.. [ random noise] in terms of sending of random nudes
from [ uhh.. ano..] other people, I received some kinds of ganun, sa ano [uhh..] sa Instagram usually, ganun ‘yung typical
cyberbullying [ na.. na..] na naranasan ko, ‘yung unsolicited na pictures na hindi ko naman hinihingi pero sinisend saakin [hmm..]
before. ( [ hmm.. we..] if [ uhh..] in terms of, ‘yung sending of.. [random noise] in terms of sending Of random nudes from [ uhH..
ano...] other people, I received some kinds of that, on [uhH..] on Instagram usually, that is the typical cyberbullying [ that.. that..]
that experience I, ‘those unsolicited pictures that I don’t really want but sending it to me anyways [hmm..] before. )
PARTICIPANT 11: For me, [ uh.. ] since wala akong cellphone, hindi [*chuckles] opo, hindi po. ( For me, [ uh.. ] since I have no
cellphone, no [*chuckles] yes, no po. )
(3.) RESEARCHER: How did you overcome being cyberbullied?
PARTICIPANT 12: I overcome being cyberbullied by ano.. [ uhmm..] by not caring tsaka, you know just typically [ ano ] blocking
people [nala..] nalang, eventually nastop naman s‘ya, so.. Kasi, may ano rin sa settings nung Instagram [diba?] ‘yung off ng
message request, ‘yun, ginawa ko ‘yun [sa.. ano, ‘yun ginawa ko ‘yun] tapos, kapag may nakikita akong, like parinig sa Facebook
about me sa mga taong iba, [ na.. ] opinion nila saakin, na alam Kong directly saakin pinatama, I just [ ano] ignore them kasi, at
the end of the day, ignoring them [ i.. i.. ] is what‘s best for you. ( I overcome being cyberbullied by [ ano... uhmm..] by not caring
besides, you know just typically [ ano ] blocking people [ nala..] but eventually it stopped, so.. Because, there is also something in the
Instagram settings [right?] the message request is off, that’s it, I did that [ yeah, I did that] then, when I see something, like on
Facebook about me to those other people, [ na.. ] their opinion about me, which I know is directly pointing on me, I just [ ano]
ignore them because, at the end of the day, ignoring them [ i.. i.. ] is what’s best for you. )
PARTICIPANT 11: Ano po ‘yung tanong? (What is the question?)
RESEARCHER: How did you overcome being cyberbullied?
PARTICIPANT 11: [ uh..] If ever na.. magkaroon ako ng cyberbullying experience [ uhmm..] I guess, hindi ko nalang din papansinin
kasi, [ hindi ko nalang din papansinin] for peace, kasi kapag pinansin ko, baka lalong lumala pa and magkaroon [ ma.. ma.. ]
‘yung small problem na ‘yun, baka magkaroon ng much bigger problem pa kapag nireplyan ko or pinansin ko pa. ( If ever.. I have
a cyberbullying experience [ uhmm..] I guess, I’ll just ignore it because, [ I‘ll just ignore it ] for peace, because if I ignore it, it might
get worse and have [ ma.. ma.. ] that small problem, there might be a much bigger problem if I reply or didn’t ignore it. )
(4.) RESEARCHER: [Uhmm..] next, [ uhh..] who or what helps you to overcome cyberbullying?
PARTICIPANT 12: When it comes to “who” my [ uhh..] my friends and my family helps me to overcome cyberbullying, kasi they
are their to asure me and kahit you know hindi sila nag aadvice they are there to listen to me kaya hindi ko nahahanap ‘yung
parang way na [ mag.. ] maging war freak tapos [uhh..] parang pansinin ‘yun, hindi ko nahahanap ‘yun kasi andyan yung family
and friends ko to asure me na [na.. ano..] what’s best is to ignore those people. ( When it comes to “who” my [ uhh..] my friends
and my family help me to overcome cyberbullying, because they are their to assure me and even though you know they don’t give
advice they are there to listen to me, that’s why I don’t find a way to [mag..] become a war freak and then [uhh..] it’s like paying
attention to that, I can’t find that because my family and friends are there to assure me that [that.. what..] what’s best is to ignore
those people. )
PARTICIPANT 11; [uhh..] for me, [uhh..] I guess my self, kasi [dun] sa sarili mo mo lang naman.. kung may kontrol ka sa sarili mo
kaya mo naman yung i-overcome pero.. kapag hindi mo kaya, you can [uhh..] you can share it with your friends and your family,
kasi mas mahalagang alam nila kung ano yung sitwasyon mo. ( [uhh..] for me, [uhh..] I guess my self, because [there] it’s only you..
if you have control over yourself you can overcome it but.. if you don’t so, you can [uhh..] you can share it with your friends and
your family, because it’s more important for them to know what your situation is.
(5.) RESEARCHER; In what way does cyberbullying affects your well-being
PARTICIPANT 12; It affects me [ ano ] mentally and [uhh..] even physically, like its damaging sa health mo, kunwari, just for
example lang, I was getting called out sa body ko dati like, [ ano ] ‘’ ang chubby mo ‘’, ‘’ ang taba mo ‘’ it affects me, kaya ang
nangyari I had this eating disorder na nangyari saakin, you know this type of eating disorder na hindi ka talaga kakain buong
araw tapos biglang mag bibinge eating ka nalang, it is very very hard talaga to overcome.
taba mo, ayun it affects me mentally saka physically sa health ko. ( It affects me [ano] mentally and [uhh..] even physically, like its
Page | 5
IJLLT 2(1):10-14
damaging your health, supposedly, just for example, I was getting called out about my body before like, [ano] ‘’you‘re chubby’’ ‘, ‘’
you‘re fat ‘’ it affects me, that’s why, what happened, I had this eating disorder that happened to me, you know this type of eating
disorder where you don’t really eat all day and then suddenly you just do binge eating, it is very very hard to overcome. Especially
when I lost weight, they said, “you’re thin” now, the situation is reversed, I used to be fat, now I’m thin. Now they force me to eat
food to gain weight and then when you gain weight they say “why are you fat?”, well it affects me mentally as well as physically on
my health. )
PARTICIPANT 11: as so [uhh.. ] as what *** said, [ hindi..] hindi ko pa kasi naeexpirience yung cyberbullying so, I guess kapag
( as
so [uhh.. ] as what *** said, [ no..] because I have not yet experienced cyberbullying so, I guess when I experience it, it will have a big
impact on my mental health, because [uhmm. .] maybe [uhh..] they see that you are okay but what they did to you [ uhmm.. ihh..]
in.. your insides [ uhmm. ] it has a big impact for you. )
(6.) RESEARCHER; What urged you to accept being interviewed
PARTICIPANT 12; [uhh..] what urged you to accept being interviewed.. kasi I expirience it kahit siguro hindi yung pinaka definite
type ng cyber bullying pero naranasan ko nang mabully before because of my body and even sa [uhh..] performance ko sa
academics, my own family bullied me, gan’on kaya ito yung urged na nagtulak saakin mainterview kasi naexpirience ko sya and I
hope na yung research nyo magiging tulong sya sa iba. ( [uhh..] what urged you to accept being interviewed.. because I experience
it even though it may not be the most definite type of cyber bullying but I have experienced being bullied before because of my
body and even in [uhh..] my performance in academics , my own family bullied me, that’s why I was urged to interview because I
experienced it and I hope that your research will be of help to others. )
PARTICIPANT 11; me [uhh.. nag ur.. uhh..] nagurged saakin [ano nga ulit yung tanong? [*giggles] ( me [uhh.. nag ur.. uhh..] urged
me [what is the question again [*giggles] )
RESEARCHER; okay, ulit. ( Okay, again. ) What urged you to accept being inteviewed
PARTICIPANT 11; [uhh..] I accept this interview kasi para mag.. para siguro mag share ng mga kaalaman namin about
cyberbullying and para rin [ uhh... ] para rin mainform yung iba kung ano yung pinagdaanan, ano yung impact nito sayo, and
lahat ng effect nito, effect ng cyberbullying for me. [uhh..] I accept this interview because I want to... maybe share our knowledge
about cyberbullying and also [uhh...] to inform others about what they went through, what is the impact of it on you, and all its
effects, effects of cyberbullying for me. )
(7.) RESEARCHER; What changes have you observed after being being cyber bullied
PARTICIPANT 12; When it terms sa changes I [ano] I ate more na hindi yung a sobra sobra kagaya ng sinabi nila, pero as much
As I can nag papataba rin ako kasi, someone is pushing me na, na [ano] labanan yung [ano] disorder na nangyari saakin, sinasabi
nya na.. okay lang yan, ganun, basta may someone na nagppush saakin to be the best version of my self. ( When it terms to
changes I [ano] I ate more, not as much as they said, but as much As I can, I’m also gaining weight because someone is pushing me,
to [ano] fight the [ano] disorder that happened to me, he says.. that’s okay, that’s it, as long as someone is pushing me to be the
best version of my self. )
(8.) RESEARCHER; Do you develope trust issues after being cyberbullied.
PARTICIPANT 12; yes, lalo na yung sa mga unsolicited na pictures ng nude [ano] hindi talaga ako trust sa mga boys, specially sa
mga boys hindi talaga ako nagsobra close sa kanila, like I only have a small circle na may boys din kahit papaano kasi sobrang
naapektuhan ako noon, iniisip ko lahat ng mga lalaki ganun yung tingin sayo. ( yes, especially the unsolicited nude pictures [ano] I
don’t really trust boys, especially boys, I don’t really get too close to them, like I only have a small circle with boys too somehow
because it’s too much I was affected then, I thought that all men thought of you that way. )
sayo or something na ganun. ( cyberbullying yes because [ano... umm..] you don’t know if... for example, like *** exampe earlier on
Instagram, you don’t know if there are people who follow you that you don’t know, so will you test if they are nice or not? It’s aimed
at you or something like that. )
RESEARCHER; alright, thank you po.

IJLLT 2(1):10-14
RESEARCHER: Hi, good morning we are the researcher from grade 11 HUMSS B we are conducting a research about effects of
cyberbullying.
(1.) RESEARCHER: So, the first question po is how are you as a student?
PARTICIPANT 13: How are we as a student?.. Are you talking about how we are feeling right no, (uhm) nervous but it’s okay
PARTICIPANT 14: [uhm..] as a student [ahh..] we okay but [ahhh.. uhm..] good, pero okay lang ( [uhm..] as a student [ahh..] we
okay but [ahhh.. uhm..] good, but it’s okay)
(2.) RESEARCHER: The second question po is do you ever experience cyberbullied?
PARTICIPANT 13: [ahm..] no I have not experienced cyberbullying.
Participant 2: [uhm...] Hindi ko alam kung ma-consider siya a cyberbullied but [sa] I think sa ano sa mga kaibigan ko normal lang
na ano na nagbibiruan. ([uhm...] I don’t know if he can be considered a cyberbullied but [in] I think it’s normal for some of my
friends to joke around.)
(3.) RESEARCHER: The third question po is how did you overcome being cyberbullied?
PARTICIPANT 13 : [uhm...] Personally i don’t have any cyberbullied so i don’t give you a definite answer.
PARTICIPANT 14: well, [uhm...] For me i just let it pass i don’t really care about that since [it..] it doesn’t affect it doesn’t really
affect my health.
(4.) RESEARCHER: So next question po is who or what helps you to overcome cyberbullying?
PARTICIPANT 13: [uhmm..] probably my parent if ever they [have..] have been my host of support and yeah i think the will be the
support.
PARTICIPANT 14: [ahmm..] family friends then sarili ko tsaka yung diyos sabay yung mga taong naging sandigan ko. ([ahmm..]
family friends then myself and God is also the people who have been my support).
(5.) RESEARCHER: the next, question po is what way does cyberbullying affects your well-being?
PARTICIPANT 13: i think [uhmm..] the our mental health (ahmm).. cyberbullying it doesn’t physically doesn’t exhaust as but it
doesn’t affect us so yeah mental health
PARTICIPANT 14: [uhmm..] same sa akin din is mental health since if ito yung pinaka kahit na sabihin at natin na wala lang sa atin
iyon okay lang yan sa atin but still nakaka-effect pa din siya sa mental health natin ([uhmm..] the same with me is mental health
since if this is the most even if we say that it’s just not in us that’s okay with us but it still has an effect on our mental health).
(6.) RESEARCHER: okay [uhmm..] the next question po is what urge you to accept this interview
PARTICIPANT 13 : [hmmm???]
RESEARCHER: what urged you to accept this interview
PARTICIPANT 13: [ahmm..] responsibility and probably willing us to spread.
PARTICIPANT 14: [ahh.. sa..] gusto ko na mag-share hindi ng experience ko ayun lang wala lang ([ahh.. sa..] I want to share not
my experience, it’s just nothing).
(7.) RESEARCHER: [ahmm..] so the next question po is what changes have you observed for being cyberbullied?
PARTICIPANT 13: well i like i said we’re affected our mental health so i think naging mas [ahmm..] yung mga taong nabubully,
cyberbullying mas nagiging tahimik sila mas magiging quiet they refuse to interact to anyone because of the fear that might
experience it again. (well i like i said we’re affected our mental health so i think it has become more [ahmm..] the people who are
bullied, cyberbullying they become quieter they become quieter they refuse to interact to anyone because of the fear that might
experience it again).
PARTICIPANT 14: [ahmm..] yung nagbabago yung thinking nila yung how comfortable sila na makipag-socialize ([ahmm..] what
changes is their thinking and how comfortable they are to socialize).
(8.) RESEARCHER: question po is do you develop trust issue after cyberbullied
PARTICIPANT 13: well i think so after all refuse hard to overcome that issues so that natural for someone to develop trust issues
(yes, because it seems like there is a gap in your trust in others once you have experienced it, as long as it enters your thinking that
there are what ifs that can happen (ahmm)..you expect it based on what you have experienced. You).
RESEARCHER: so, i just want to say thank you po for being part of our research and interview, thank you po.
