3.4 Description of the service software Service Manual CEREC SpeedFire

3.4 Description of the service software

3.4.1 General information
Using the service software The service software is automatically installed along with the CEREC
SW software. The CEREC SW software must also be installed on the
other notebook if the furnace needs to be operated with the service
software on a separate notebook. The CEREC SW software need not
be started for operating the machine with the service software.
Test requirements Requirement for all tests:
● PC and device are switched on and ready for operation.
● PC and unit are interconnected (network cable).
Service software log file The Service software generates a log file for all tests performed. When
delivered, this log file is saved in the folder “C:\Programs\Sirona Dental
Systems\CADCAM\inLabCAM\Service\Protocols” and is called
Testdatei_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.html. The xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
here denotes the serial no. of the machine.
Each time the service software is started, a confirmation query appears
asking whether this file (if it already exists) should be deleted. If
"No" (do not delete) is selected, the tests subsequently performed will
be appended to the ones previously saved. Each test is labeled with a
starting and ending date. The test file can be viewed with the editor at
any time. If the user quits a test without saving it, he will be asked if he
wants to quit without saving. If "Yes" (Quit without saving) is then
selected, the data just measured will be lost.
Assessment scores There are two different scores which can be assigned to test results:
● Passed ("Passed", green label)
● Not passed ("Not passed", red label)
The area "Passed" which passed may be irrelevant for a specific test. In
that case, n/a (not applicable) will be written to the log file for this area.

NOTE
Assessment scores
Passed: If test results are scored "Passed", flawless operation of the
system is possible.
Not passed: If the test results are scored "Not passed", you must find
and eliminate the cause.

NOTE
Do not share your password formula!
The Service functions may be used only by authorized service
engineers who have been trained by Dentsply Sirona.

Password The service software test dialogs are protected by a password to

prevent manipulations by unauthorized users.
The password has four digits. It changes daily and is generated from
the system date of the computer according to the following scheme:

Password number Generated from

1 2. number of the current month
2 1. number of the current month
3 2. number of the current day
4 1. number of the current day

Example: 02/28/2007 becomes 2082

NOTE
Do not disclose the password scheme
Do not disclose the password creation scheme to others.
Before entering the password, always determine the date as
inconspicuously as possible.
Since the password is always valid for one single day only, it can be
passed on to the user in exceptional cases, e.g. to provide immediate
telephone support.

NOTE
Password input errors
If the commands are not enabled after you enter the password, check
the following:
- correct entry of the password,
- the system date set on the computer.

4.6 Error in the cooling circuit – FS! –

B(0X00000010), B(0X00020000)
4.6.1 General description
Due to the system, coolant loss in the system may occur after lengthy
periods of use without leaks being visible here. In such instances,
coolant must be refilled. In order to avoid repeat refilling, there is also
the option of replacing the hoses of the coolant circuit with new ones.
We have compiled an appropriate hose set for this purpose (see "Spare
Parts List / Combi-Stick: REF 6321868“, to replace the hoses see the
section "Replacing the hoses [→ 85]").

7 Calibration and temperature test

7.1 General description

The internal thermocouple is compared with an external one when
calibrating the furnace. The calibration values ascertained with the
external thermocouple (calibration tool) are automatically adopted for
the furnace.
The calibration data is saved on the base plate. When exchanging the
base plate the data can be adopted onto the new plate.

IMPORTANT
A calibration is required:
➢ after replacing the base plate, unless the calibration data was
capable of being adopted,
➢ after replacing the thermocouple,
➢ in order to reexamine suspected errors or potential drift,
➢ if restorations show signs of fusion,
➢ if there are problems with fit,
➢ if restorations are too opaque, whitening.

IMPORTANT
The unit must be cold for calibration purposes.

Handling the calibration tool

NOTE
Sensitive measuring equipment
The thin protective tube on the calibration tool may break if not
handled correctly.

1. Remove the calibration tool carefully out of its transport case.

2. Only tighten the calibration tool lightly using two fingers when
inserting.
3. Slide the door insulators carefully over the protective tube.
4. Also handle the calibration tool carefully upon removal and

different points using calipers or an outside micrometer.
2. Determine the average value for the external diameter from the 5
measured values.
3. Compare the results with the temperature chart enclosed with the
packaging for the sintering rings.

NOTE
The temperature chart is batch-dependent and may only be used
together with the sinter rings supplied for this.
The batch number is imprinted on the ring.

4. Determine the difference between the chart temperature value and

the target temperature
- Target temperature 1510° C ± 30°C
- Target temperature 800°C +20°C.
Ä The furnace is in working order if the difference determined is
less than 20°C.
Tip: The indication on the display differs from the measured value with
the ring. This is correct.
