• Standard Paper Repository: A copy of the submitted document will

be stored only in Standard Repository for future comparison.
• Do not store the submitted papers: Submitted documents will not be
stored to any repository. The paper will only be processed to perform
the initial similarity check.

If allowed, students will be able to submit to the assignment after the

due date, providing they have not previously made a submission. If not,
students will not be able to submit after the due date of the assignment.
 Configure TurnItIn Settings for the Assignment - Method 1
When enabled student submissions receive detailed grammar
feedback in GradeMark automatically through the e-rater technology. If you would like to use a rubric to
grade the papers submitted to the
assignment, you may use the rubric
list drop down menu to select a
previously created or imported rubric.

You can launch the rubric manager

by clicking on the Launch Rubric
Manager link and create a new rubric
to attach to the assignment.

Please note:
To use e-rater technology for an
assignment it must be enabled
before any submissions have
been made to the assignment.

Similarity Reports for the initial submission, and the

next three resubmissions, will generate immediately.

After three attempts, a 24-hour wait is enforced to

generate reports for all subsequent resubmissions.

Reason 4:
File type limitation
Turnitin can accept documents：
less than 100MB；at least 20 words；no more than 800 pages；if text only，must less than 2MB

Turnitin cannot accept the following documents to generate a report：

￮ Password protected files
￮ Microsoft® Works (.wps) files
￮ Microsoft Word 2007 macros-enabled .docm files
￮ OpenOffice Text (.odt) files created and downloaded from Google Docs online
￮ Document (.doc) files created using OpenOffice
￮ Spreadsheets created outside of Microsoft Excel (i.e. .ods)
￮ Apple Pages
￮ Text with visual effects (i.e. shadows, 3D, 3rd party theme 'Slate')

Please note:
The integration will only work properly if Turnitin is
enabled before the due date of the task.

If needed, feel free to edit the due date of the Task or ✔

Deadline in ManageBac and enable Turnitin at the
same time.
Common Issue 2 - solution to creating a Turnitin Assignment

Click 'Submit Coursework to Turnitin' in the Task or

Deadline dropbox to resubmit files already submitted
to Turnitin servers and generate a Similarity Index.
Common Issue 3 - High score for similarity report

For drafts：Select 'Do not store the submitted papers'

If choose to compare against student papers, then may gain a high similarity index.
Common Issue 4 - Delete student paper in Standard Repository
If a student paper is stored in Standard Paper Repository and is about to be
deleted, please contact your institution administrator to raise a support ticket.

1. Using Admin Account Email to contact: [email protected]

2. Email Title: Paper Deletion
3. Email Content: including the Submission ID, Assignment name and Class ID of
any paper to be permanently removed from the Turnitin database

Please note: Once the deletion process is completed, any deleted submission
will be completely removed from Turnitin and can never be recovered by
anyone for any reason.

Note:
For draft paper assignments or any paper considered to be published in the
future, instrutors should select 'No Repository' during creating assignments.
