Activities Activity: SPELLING WITH A TWIST
Drill Direction: The students will be grouped into 7 groups. The teacher will
enunciate the following words and their meaning. The students in every
group will spell the word, one letter at a time. The group who will be able
to spell the word correctly will be given additional 2 points for 1 written
work.
1. Hazard- are elements of physical environment, harmful to man and
caused by forces extraneous to him.
2. Lithosphere- is the solid, outer part of Earth.
3. Earthquake- the sudden release of strain energy in the Earth's crust,
resulting in waves of shaking that radiate outwards from the earthquake
source.
4. sinkhole- a cavity in the ground, especially in limestone bedrock,
caused by water erosion and providing a route for surface water to
disappear underground.
5. Volcanoes- mountains or hilsl, typically conical, having a crater or
vent through which lava, rock fragments, hot vapor, and gas are being or
have been erupted from the earth's crust.
6. Typhoon- a tropical storm in the region of the Indian or western Pacific
oceans.
After the activity, the teacher will announce the winner.
