RULES & REGULATIONS
1. Only registered players of the TTFI for the year 2024 can participate in the Championships;
2. All the matches will be played by the rules and regulations for the Regional Championship as adopted
by TTFI;
3. The Youth Boys & Girls (U-19) events are open only to those players who are born on or after
1.1.2006;
4. The Youth Boys & Girls (U-17 Junior) events are open only to those players who are born on or after
1.1.2008;
5. The Youth Boys & Girls (U-15 Sub-Junior) events are open only to those players who are born on or
after 1.1.2010;
6. The Youth Boys & Girls (U-13 Cadet) events are open only to those players who are born on or after
1.1.2012;
7. The Youth Boys & Girls (U-11) events are open only to those players who are born on or after
1.1.2014;
8. For evidence of age, players should bring their Original Date of Birth Certificate issued by the
Municipal Corporation/School so that it can be verified if and when required;
9. All players will have to make their arrangements for Boarding/Lodging;
10. The decision of the Tournament Committee shall be final in all matters concerned with the
Championships;
11. The Tentative Schedule will be as follows:
Day 1 5th Dec U 11 B/G, U 13 B/G Qualifications
Day 2 6th Dec U 11 up to Finals, U `13 Main Draw R/64, U 15 Qualifications
Day 3 7th Dec U 13 up to Finals, U 15 Main Draw, U 17 Qualification
Day 4 8th Dec U 15 Main Draw up to R/16, U 17/19 Qualifications
Day 5 9th Dec U 15 up to Final, U 17 Main Draw up to R/64, MS/U 19 Qualifications
Day 6 10th Dec U17 Up to Finals, U 19 Main Draw R/64, MS Qlfn. and R/128, WS Qlfn.
Day 7 11th Dec U 19 up to QF, MS/WS Main Draw up to R/16
Day 8 12th Dec U 19, MS, WS up to Finals
(Please note that this is only a tentative schedule and CM has the final authority to change the
schedule based on the final entries in consultation with TTFI/ OC)
12. Entries close at Noon on 21st November for Institutions and at Noon on 23rd November for the State
Associations. However, the Secretary General of TTFI has the discretion to accept any entry under
special circumstances, after the deadline of entries.
13. DRAW FOR FIRST STAGE OF U 11 & U 13 AT 15:00 Hrs. on 4th December 2024 at Venue.
14. FIRST STAGE DRAW FOR THE REMAINING EVENTS ON 5th December onwards 2024 at Venue.
15. Normal and Extra Entries:
Men/Women – 5 Entries with normal entry fee and additional with extra entry fees;
For Institutions – 2 Entries with normal entry fee and additional with extra entry fees;
Other events- 4 Entries with normal entry fee and additional with extra entry fees;
TTFI can field wild card entries (Max 32) in each event and they will be treated as extra entries with
the fees applicable for the events.
16. Equipment: STAG Tables, flooring, and Net will be used for the Championships. Stag balls will be
used for all events except for U 19 events, Men’s and Women’s Singles. The DHS DJ 40 + balls will be
used for U 19 Events, MS and WS.
17. All official Communication/The Draw shall be displayed at the venue on 4th December and that alone
shall be the official communication in all respects. This Championship will be treated as a Ranking
Tournament and Points shall be awarded according to TTFI guidelines.
18. On-Line Entries: Entries are to be submitted online on our website ttfi.org on the event page.
Each State Association/Institution has already been provided with a Username and Password, which
may be used to log in to the Online Entry System. No entries will be accepted through mail or any
other communication. No entries can be permitted after the deadline.
19. About any clarification regarding online entries, States/Institutions may kindly contact the
Federation office at: [email protected]
20. All the players should have registered with the TTFI. Entries of unregistered players will not be
accepted. Players already registered with TTFI, should pay a registration fee of Rs 500/- for 2024.
This may be paid with the entry fees in the first tournament they play in the calendar year. All Youth
category (U 19/ U 17/ U 15/ U 13/ U 11) players should submit their Date of Birth Certificates and
keep the originals in possession for verification, if and when required.
21. Transfer of players from one state to another is allowed only before the start of the season. Once
registered with a particular State, the players will not be given any transfer during the Season.
22. The entry fee will be as follows.
First five entries in Men, Women: : Rs. 1000/- each
First four entries in U-19, U 17 : Rs. 900/- each
First four entries in U-15, U-13 : Rs. 800/- each
First four entries in U-11 ; Rs. 700/- each
23. State Associations/Institutions can send extra entries as per Clause 15 above.
The entry fee for extra entries will be as follows: -
Seniors/U19/U17 Rs. 3700/- each
U 15/U13 Rs 2700/- each
U 11 Rs 1700/- each
24. Payment of Entry Fees: The entry fee remittance will be made online. The system will generate an
invoice and the State Associations/Institutions should pay the same. Unless the entry fees are paid, the
entries will not reflect in the system of entries for the respective events. Therefore, all state associations
remit the entry fees before the entry closure deadline. Otherwise, their entries will not be entered for the
Championships. TTFI office will accept NO entry fee physically or in any other mode than the online payment
method. No entry fee will be accepted at the venue. The entry fees have to be paid on or before 5 th October,
through the online system, otherwise, entries will not be accepted.
25. SPORT CANCELLATION/CHANGE IN NOMINATIONS
Cancellation of participation is possible till Noon of 24th November. After this deadline, the penalty
policy will apply and no changes will be accepted on players’ entries and such players will be deducted
20 points from the ranking. In case cancellation is not possible through the online system, due to some
reasons, the same may be intimated to the Competition Manager before the deadline. However, the
entry fees for all entries as of the date of closure of entries (23 rd November) have to be paid to the
organizers, using the online system.

27. INFORMATION FOR PLAYERS
By entering the event, players agree to abide by all TTFI rules and regulations of the Organizing Committee.
All entered associations and individual players agree to be under the auspices of the TTFI and its agents in
all matters concerning television coverage, video, internet, webcasting, motion picture coverage, and
photographic coverage. Participants release all rights or rights held by their agents or sponsors, in all
matters relating to television and webcasting coverage, video and motion picture coverage, and
photographic coverage of any kind. A participant’s refusal may attract suspension or dismissal from the
competition.
28. THE PLAYING SYSTEM & SEEDING RULES FOR NATIONAL RANKING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024:
Seeding Rules:
MEN & WOMEN: Players who are ranked within the top 50 of the ITTF Singles World Ranking list as
of the date of the first draw will be seeded first and the rest of the seeding will be as per the latest
National Ranking as of the date of the first draw will be followed . (This is as per the decision of the
AGM dated 19th July 2024)
Other Events: The latest National Ranking will be followed.
Nominated Players from the same Association/Institution will be separated only in the first stage
Groups and not in further knock out rounds.
The entry ranked 1 shall be placed at the top of the first half of the draw and the entry ranked 2 at
the bottom of the second half, but all other seeded entries shall be drawn among specified places in
the draw, as follows:
The entries ranked 3 and 4 shall be drawn between the bottom of the first half of the draw
and the top of the second half;
The entries ranked 5-8 shall be drawn among the bottom places of the odd-numbered
quarters of the draw and the top places of the even-numbered quarters;
The entries ranked 9-16 shall be drawn among the bottom places of the odd-numbered
eighths of the draw and the top places of the even-numbered eighths;
The entries ranked 17-32 shall be drawn among the bottom places of the odd-numbered
sixteenths of the draw and the top places of the even-numbered sixteenths.
The rest of the entries will be drawn at random among the vacant positions in the Draw.
Direct to the Main Draw:
Men’s Singles/Women’s Singles: Top 16 Ranked Players
All other events (except YS Under-11): Top 8 Ranked players
The rest of the players will be divided into groups of 3 or 4. In all the events one player qualifies from each
Group to the Main Draw. The draw will be done by the Referee under the supervision of the Competition
Manager/Technical Committee.
All matches will be played best of 5 games of 11 points each except the Semi-Finals and Finals of the Men’s
and Women’s Singles and finals of U 19 Boys and Girls Singles, which will be played best of 7 games.
29. PLAYERS’ CLOTHING
By entering the Championships, all Players undertake to abide by the ITTF’s player clothing rules already in
force (ITTF regulation 3.2.2 of the ITTF Statutes).
Opposing players shall wear shirts of sufficiently different colours to enable them to be easily
distinguished by spectators.
Where the opposing players have a similar shirt and don’t agree on which of them will change, the
decision shall be made by the umpire by lot.
30. PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES
Athletes are expected to attend the following promotional activities:
- Opening Ceremony
- Media interviews
- Award Ceremonies (in full tracksuit and sports shoes)
Failure to participate in promotional activities may result in loss of prize money and medals or
both.
