Chehl Kaaf Kay Muaqqil Shaikh Salahuddin sai mulaqaat aur Huzoor Ghaus Pak RA ki
ziyaret
Presented by Dr Abdul Wajid Shazli
Question: Could you please speak about Chehl Kaaf. What is special in it?
Answer: Actually Chehl Kaaf has an affinity with some people and it's anti some; like a sword.
There are so many examples of people who read it successfully and for some it goes against
them.
Question: How can we compare Chehl Kaaf and Saify Shareef?
Answer: Both are very powerful but recitation of Saify Shareef is an exhalted practice. I have
taken permission of Chehl Kaaf from a few elders and they have granted me full permission. We
have given permission to a lot of disciples. I have recited Chehl Kaaf with and without
muaqqilaan and it has one leader from the spirituality attached to it. His name is Shaikh
Salahuddin. I was very keen to read it ; I have read it for 18hours in a day for months and one
roti a day and only 2 glasses of water; one in the morning and one in the evening. So I recited it
with passion for about a year and a half.
Then I took permission from Mian Saab. He said you've already recited it in abundance but I
insisted that I want to undertake a 'chillah'. For that Mian Saab prescribed to sit alone for the
chillah. After the permission, I sat in a room which was approximately 6 ft by 4 ft. I had
man appeared with a rope and a sword that he was sharpening vigorously 🗡
completed 40 days, then one day I saw as if I was sitting in a large, open desolate space. A
that would swing
right near my face. It was difficult to concentrate on my reading as it all seemed so real.
Whether I would open or close my eyes, this man would still be visible and there were sparks
shooting out of the sword. Then another massive built man appeared and this gigantic man
came and sat on a very small sized chair. This man asked the other man who was sharpening
the sword as to why did he have a rope and what was he going to do. The first man pointed at
me and said we've been ordered to decapitate him. I was astonished at what was happening. I
was petrified and sweating and forgot that I was reading. I felt I should ask them why would they
kill me? Then I realized I was reading Chehl Kaaf. They discussed between themselves how
they would first burn me as well before chopping me and that someone would soon be bringing
in some wood too. When this vision finished I was in my room.
The next day again I found myself in that large open place. I saw a man and woman who was
staring at me. The man asked the woman why she was looking at me? The woman replied I am
trying to identify that is this the man we have to kill? She took my father's name, mother's name
and the entire family's name which were all correct. Then I saw the executioner charging
towards me. He sat next to me and asked which body part of mine should be chopped off first?
The woman ordered him to take out one eye at a time, then the nose, the ears..The horrifying
looking executioner walked near me and I suddenly exclaimed what was going on!Then I
suddenly realized I had made a mistake and that I was just reciting Chehl Kaaf. I sought tobah
and continued.
On the 39th day, I witnessed another peculiar sight. I saw a bulky man riding a little cat. I was
shocked at what I was seeing. Slowly the man got off the cat and started stroking the cat which
transformed into a lion. That lion was roaring hungrily at me. This man was restraining the lion
by his ear. Then suddenly another man appeared and questioned why don't you let the lion just
eat up this man. The lion started creating chaos and in no time plunged onto me and I tightly
closed my eyes with panting fear. I thought I was gone and then suddenly there was nothing.
Absolute silence. It was all gone.
Then out of nowhere a huge eagle came swerving in and started talking. It advised me to
escape. I replied that I had been asked by my elders to sit here and recite so I will not leave till I
have completed my practice. The eagle warned me that the people who were now on their way
were very dangerous and no one would be able to help me so I should run for my life. Then
suddenly the eagle disappeared and I saw a large army of people riding foxes marching in.
They came near me but didn't say anything. Then another army came this time on horses that
resembled lions. The men riding these horses were bald and stood near me. As I witnessed this
I felt that how are all these people fitting into my small room. Then I saw a large group of
elephants running towards me. I was sure they would crush me and perhaps I should run for my
life. However, just as I raised myself slightly, I felt a consoling hand on my back. I stopped. I
realized there was no danger in what I was seeing.
Then I saw one particular white elephant; it was as tall as the sky with a buzurg riding it. He had
fire sprouting from his eyes and a long flowing beard and a massive sword in his hand. There
were two or three tasbeehs left of my reading. Only God knows how I completed those. As I
finished them I offered salaam and stood. He said Mahmood Hashmi, Usman Ali Shah and then
asked me what was the matter. I humbly replied that I just wanted to see him. Then he told me
something and left. I thought now no one will come. The entire 40th day I read and then I felt
very drowsy and felt as if I fell asleep. Shortly, I saw a man on a horse jumped into the window.
I was surprised as I saw him ride in and out through the door. Subsequently a large number of
riders passed by. Then a white horse came in and the rider asked me if I were Tariq and if I
were reciting Chehl Kaaf. I nodded in the affirmative. He said keep reading and asked me stand
up. I inquired why and then he pointed look who is coming? There was a mist of more riders
coming in. He insisted me to stand and rode off. Then I noticed a red horse came in and the
buzurg riding it was holding a flag which somehow gave the impression as if it was lakhs of
flags. Then he asked me to stand. I stood up. Subsequently, a horse came in that seemed to be
made of light and the rider had covered his face. The rider seemed illuminated and it was hard
to keep the eye fixated at him and he congratulated me and then the rider on the red horse with
the flag gave me the flag and said here they are yours.
No one told me who each person was. The vision thereafter disappeared. I had nothing in hand
and thought whether I was awake or asleep. I was running very high temperature and was down
for three days. The third day my Pir Bhai came and asked me to come as Mian Saab (Usman
Mian) had asked for me. When I reached there I narrated the entire incident to him. Mian Saab
asked me do you know who you met? One buzurg introduced himself to you but the other
buzurg did not. The last buzurg was Sarkar Ghaus Pak. Now you can give permission to anyone
to recite Chehl Kaaf and there would be no issue. If ever anyone came to Usman Mian to recite
Chehl Kaaf, he would send the person to me to give permission. I would get shy to grant
permission while Mian Saab was there but he insisted to everyone that for Chehl Kaaf I should
be the one to grant permission. He sent many to me.
Khwaja Manzoor Hussain read Saify Shareef for 30 years. He said he undertook the chillah for
27 years with a 3 year practice. Both Chehl Kaaf and Saify Shareef are brilliant but I read Surah
Muzammil a lot. I did chillahs for a lot of surahs ( to name a few); Surah Yaseen, Surah Ikhlaas,
Dua e Hadiri, quite a few isma but Surah Muzammil was my favourite. Then Mian Saab asked
me to do a chillah for Surah Tariq. I had to read 40,000 for 1000 times each day. I did it once
and then Mian Saab asked me to do it again. Then again. Then he asked me to do a chillah for
an ayat from Surah Tariq. He asked me a lot of questions and then said I had to re-read on the
13th, 14th and 15th of the month. He would very easily prescribe large numbers. Then he asked
me again to read it on the 27th, 28th and 29th date of the month. I would smile and read again.
He would make us work very hard but his focus was brilliant and he would always come to the
rescue. I also noticed that whatever I recited, he used to generously grant a full permission.
