Assessment overview (Y6 1st Term Mathematics Assessment 2024 – 2025)


The Year 6 Mathematics assessment will be in the following format:

For both papers, general instructions are as follows:
- Show all steps to gain full marks (random calculation work will not count as
proper steps)
- Use pencil only for drawings
- Erasable pens, correction tapes or fluids are not permitted
- Keep a good presentation of the workings (Rough work can be done at the
side of the page or the blank pages at the back of the assessment paper)
- Students will need a ruler and a protractor

Assessment preparation
We do not suggest students to over-practice for the assessment, as the main
purpose of the assessment is to assess how much students have learnt during
the lessons.

Here are a few things students can do to prepare for the assessment:

- Review all the booklets, homework and unit challenges that have been set in
the first term
- Complete the 1st term Mathematics revision booklet
- Use the mock assessment papers as a self-check assessment
- Create revision posters to summarize the key points of each unit
- Email or speak to their Mathematics teacher if there are any questions!!
