The Ministry of Technology and Science was created through
Gazette No. 1123 of 2021 to formulate and implement
policies on Technology, Science, Communications and Skills
Development for enhanced impact on socio-economic
development as well as enforcement of standards; regulations,
licensing and supervision of Technology, Science,
Communications and Skills Development.
The Strategic Objective of the Ministry of Technology and
Science is to increase access to efficient, equitable, quality, and
relevant technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial skills and to
enhance research and development, commercialization,
transfer, and diffusion of technology and innovation. The
Ministry is also responsible for policy formulation, coordination
and promotion of Technical Education, Vocational and
Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) through the provision of
guidelines to all TEVET Providers. In view of this, the Ministry is
inviting suitably qualified and experienced Zambians to fill the
vacant positions under Lundazi Trades Training Institute,
Mporokoso Trades Training Institute and Nsumbu Trades
Training Institute.
1. Job Title : PRINCIPAL (3)

(a) JOB PURPOSE
To oversee the management of the Institution in
order to provide quality skills training in TEVET.
(b) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be reporting to the
Institutional Board and Ministry of Technology and
Science under the Department of Vocational
Education and Training and shall be responsible for:
i) Policy -Ensure timely formulation, review and
implementation of institutional policies in order to
provide institutional guidance;
ii) Student Affairs - Coordinate effectively the
Management of student affairs in order to ensure a
conducive learning environment;
iii) Curriculum - Initiates regular review, design and
development of institutional curriculum in order to
facilitate relevant and focused training;
iv) Quality Assurance - Coordinate the design and
development of tailor made programmes in order
to meet the demands of the clients.
v) Research & Consultancy - Oversees timely
conduct of appropriate research and consultancy
in order to generate information and provide
quality service to clientele;
vi) Performance Management - Oversees
effectively the development of departmental and
individual work plans in order to facilitate the
monitoring and evaluation of performance;
vii) Monitoring & Evaluation - Oversees regularly
monitoring and evaluation of institutional
programmes and activities in order to facilitate
implementation of appropriate interventions;
viii) Commercial Venture - Oversees the
development of
production units in order to facilitate practical
training and generate revenue;
ix) Information Management System-Ensure
regularly the maintenance of an up to date
information management system in order to
facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of
information; and
x) Management-Manages effectively financial,
human
and material resources and assets in order to
achieve the Institutional set objectives.
(c) QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must possess the following qualifications:
a. Full Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent with a
minimum of five (5) credits including English language;
b. Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education or its equivalent;
and
c. A master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added
advantage.
d) REQUIREMENTS
i) Five (5) years of experience at senior management
level in the relevant field;
ii) Must be at least thirty-five (35) years;
iii) Ability to write technical and analytical reports and
ability to communicate effectively in English; and
iv) Accreditation with Technical Education, Vocational
and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) is
mandatory or any other professional body.
2. Job Title : LECTURER - POWER ELECTRICAL (

(a) JOB PURPOSE
To undertake effective delivery of training in accordance
with the curricula in order to impart knowledge and skills
to the learners.
(b) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Principal
and shall be responsible for:
i) Undertaking effective delivery of learner’s assessment,
research supervision, industrial attachments
assessments and maintenance of performance records
in order to determine effectiveness of the level of
learning;
ii) Undertaking the development and review of appropriate
syllabi in order to ensure efficient delivery of training;
iii) Preparing schemes of work and lesson plans in order to
ensure effectiveness of training;
iv) Undertaking effective research and consultancy in the
Engineering field in order to contribute to the body of
knowledge and promote best practice;
v) Ensuring that all Continuous Assessments (CAs) are
submitted in good time to the Examinations Officer so
that they are submitted to the appropriate Examination
Bodies;
vi) Coordinating and undertaking regular monitoring and
evaluation of training programmes on full, part-time
and ODL progammes; and
vii) Undertaking any other reasonable duties as may be
required from time to time by the Principal (CEO), the
Vice Principal or the Head of Section.
(c) QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must meet the following requirements:
i) Full Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of
five (5) credits including English language or its
equivalent;
ii) Diploma in Power Electrical or its equivalent; and
iii) Teaching Methodology Certificate will be an added
advantage.
d) REQUIREMENTS
i) Three (3) years of relevant work experience;
ii) Ability to write technical and analytical reports and
ability to communicate effectively in English;
iii) Accreditation with Technical Education, Vocational
and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) is
mandatory.
3. Job Title : LECTURER -AUTOMOTIVE
MECHANICS (2)

ii) Diploma in Automotive Mechanics/Engineering or its
equivalent; and
iii) Teaching Methodology Certificate will be an added
advantage;

7. Job Title : ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (3)

(a) JOB PURPOSE
To undertake the provision of accounting and financial
reporting services in the Institutions in order to
facilitate implementation of programmes and ensure
accountability
(b) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be reporting to the
Principal and shall be responsible for:
i) Books of Accounts -Undertakes effectively, the
maintenance of books of accounts in order to
facilitate preparation of financial reports;
ii) Financial Reporting -Undertakes timely and
accurately, the compilation of financial records in
order to facilitate preparation financial reports and
financial statements;
iii) Audit Responses -Undertakes timely, the
preparation of audit responses whenever required;
iv) Payment Processing -Undertakes timely, the
preparation of payment vouchers and capturing of
payments in order to facilitate payments;
v) Revenue Returns -Undertakes timely preparation of
the capturing of Revenue data in order to facilitate
the preparation of revenue returns;
vi) Cost Accounting-Undertakes timely, costing of
programmes in order to facilitate preparation of
annual budget estimates, mobilization and
disbursement of financial resources;
vii) Asset Accounting -Undertakes effectively, the
capturing of asset financial data in order to facilitate
the accounting of assets; and
viii) Risk Management -Undertakes effectively the
management of risks in order to mitigate losses.
(c) QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must possess the following qualifications:
i) Full Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent with
a minimum of five (5) credits including English

ii) Degree/Diploma in Accounts or its equivalent;

8. Job. Title : ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (3)

development of the procurement plan;
