Chapter# 7
Questions:
1. Write a unique character trait for Roberta.
2. What does "loving- kindness" mean?

2. "Loving-kindness" means trying to help people.
3. Muslin is supposed to be washed with great care. It should not be rubbed. Put the boiled soap in
the hot water and make it all frothy and lathery. Then, shake the muslin and squeeze it gently so
that all the dirt comes out. It must not be twisted. It should just be rinsed.
The children were pretending to be out-of-the-door washer women when they were washing
clothes.
4. Each of the three children received a beautiful gold watch and chain with their names engraved
inside the watches.

the mantelpiece and on the window ledges.

9. When the old gentleman was leaving, Mother made a strange comment: "I am so sorry that I
can't ask you to come and see us again."
I think she said it because she felt very uneasy, as she didn't want the old gentleman to know of
the reasons behind her husband's absence at home. She also didn't want to accept any more of
his help.
