Clinical Presentation: Right breast lump at the 12 o'clock position, measuring
1.5 x 1 cm, present for 3 years. The lump is fibrous swelling, slightly mobile,
mildly painful, and non-cyclical. No family history of breast disease.
Specimen Details:
Procedure: Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC)
Site: Right breast
Slides Prepared: 6 slides (3 Pap, 3 Giemsa)
Microscopic Description:
The smears are mildly to moderately cellular.
Smears reveal the presence of few benign ductal epithelial cells.
Ductal epithelial cells are round with regular nuclei, showing benign chromatin
and scant cytoplasm, surrounded by myoepithelial cells
No atypical cells or malignancy identified.
Stromal fragments show fibroadipocytic components.
Scattered bare bipolar nuclei are present.
Inflammatory infiltrate, predominantly lymphocytes, observed in background.
No granulomas or atypical features.
Conclusion:
Cytopathological Diagnosis: Yokohama system for reporting breast
cytopathology -Category -Benign-Benign breast lesion, suggestive of
fibroadenosis or fibrocystic changes.
