makes the only 32″ 4K TVs on
the market today – the Q50R
Series and Q60A Series. The
next smallest 4K TV starts at
40 inches, a full 8 inches larger
than Samsung!

I’ve lumped my overall review of
these small 4K TVs together because
they are the same in just about every
way.
The two main differences are:
The Q50R came out in 2019
whereas the Q60A came out in
PREVIOUS ARTICLE
NEXT ARTICLE
2021.
The Q50R works with Bixby and
SmartThings and the Q60A works
with Amazon Alexa, Google
Assistant and SmartThings.
The prices on both tend to fluctuate
a bit, but knowing that these
TVs are more or less identical,
I would go with the older
model (Q50R) if it was
significantly cheaper.
If the prices are about equal and
both TVs are in stock, I would
instead buy the newer, Q60A series.
Overall, these little 4K TVs
pack a serious punch, and for
the price they are extremely
reasonable.
For your image you can expect rich
blacks and bright, vivid colors that
explode off the screen and come to
life with true-to-life flesh tones. This
is thanks to Samsung’s HDR (High
Dynamic Range).
Simply put, it significantly
enhances brightness, contrast
and color levels.
Keep in mind however, that all TV’s
are setup at the factory and they are
usually set to neutral across the
board. You need to adjust each
individual picture setting to
optimize the overall quality! These
settings can be found under
Settings > Picture> Expert
Settings, on the TV’s menu.
Don’t be afraid to play around with
these until you get your picture just
the way you like it. Worst case, if
things get out of hand, you can just
factory reset your TV back to its
original settings.
As for the sound, I wasn’t
particularly impressed, but then
again what TVs’ speakers sound
good?
Don’t get me wrong, the speakers
aren’t unbearable – I’d just prefer to
connect a pair of Bluetooth
headphones or speakers to improve
the experience.
If you’re into video games, the
Samsung Q50R and Q60A are
the best, smallest 4K TVs for
gaming available.
The low input lag makes gaming feel
extremely responsive. But do keep in
mind that the refresh rate is limited
to 60Hz and these TVs do not
support variable refresh rate
technology.
I’ve also found that the
amazing contrast ratio makes
these TVs well-suited for
gaming in the dark, which just so
happens to be when I do most of
gaming!
Maybe one of the biggest downsides
to these TVs however, are their
narrow viewing angles. If you’re
looking for a TV that you and all the
neighbors can circle around to watch
the game on Sundays, I would pass
on these.
But then again, who is putting a 32”
inch TV in their living room
anyways? These TVs are perfect
for bedrooms, kitchens, RV
campers and any other small
space.
In those types of environments, you
shouldn’t have to worry about
viewing angles at all.
Overall, I don’t think you can go
wrong with either of these small 4K
TVs. If you’re having doubts just

HDR on the other hand stands for
High Dynamic Range.
HDR offers a much wider color
gamut than the standard sRGB
panels in most TVs today. In
fact, HDR has 2x the color
range!
With modern gaming consoles
starting to support HDR, you’re able
to get deeper blacks and more
realistic images and scenery when
gaming.
And streaming services like Netflix
and Amazon Prime are rolling out
new HDR content every day.
