ABOUT INSTITUTE
The National Institutes of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR) Kolkata, formally
known as TTTI (ER), was established on 11th January 1965 by the Ministry of Education, Government
of India. Recently, Government of India has declared NITTTR, Kolkata as Deemed to be University
under De Novo category. At present, the Institute has 5 departments viz. (1) Civil Engineering (CE),
(2) Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), (3) Electrical Engineering (EE), (4) Mechanical
Engineering (ME) and (5) Education and Management (E & M). The Institute conducts short term
technical teachers’ training programme throughout the year on Educational Pedagogy, Science,
Technology and Management and other relevant fields and also offer Ph.D and M.Tech degrees

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1 Candidates should read carefully the requisite minimum essential qualifications, age and
eligibility, experience criteria etc. laid down in the advertisement before applying for these posts.
Since all applications will be screened on the basis of data submitted by the candidate in the online
application form, the candidates must satisfy themselves of the eligibility for the position to which
they are applying for. If at any stage during the recruitment and selection process, it is found that
candidates have furnished false or wrong information, their candidature will be rejected.
2 Application once submitted cannot be altered / resubmitted, under any circumstances. Further, no
request with respect to making changes in any data / particular entered by the candidate in the
Online Application will be entertained, once the application is submitted successfully. Therefore,
please keep all data / details ready before you start filling up the Online Application.
3 Reservation and age relaxation will be followed as per Government of India norms on submission
of Caste Certificates/PH certificates in the format as prescribed by the Government of India.
Failure of submission of information/documents etc. may lead to cancellation of candidature at
any stage of the recruitment.
4 Candidates belonging to OBC (Non Creamy Layer) category should submit proper caste certificate
as per the proforma of Government of India (which should be valid as on the last date of submission
of application.
5 Candidates belonging to EWS category should submit proper EWS certificate as per the proforma
of Government of India which should be valid as on the last date of submission of application.
Further, they should invariably attach a valid EWS certificate issued for the financial year prior to
the year of application on their eligibility as per the Department of Personnel & Training in the
Government of India OM No. 36039/112019-Estt (Res) dated 31/01/2019 in the prescribed
proforma for consideration of the candidature under EWS category.
6 Application Fee: Application Fee for faculty posts, ₹1,000/- (Rupees One thousand only) in

of the Institute may be deposited. The application is considered as a submitted application only
after the payment of fees. The fee once paid will not be refunded or re-adjusted under any
circumstances. No fee is required for SC/ST, PwD category & Women candidates.
7 Fulfilment of qualifications and experience is an essential requirement. The candidate will be
called for certain evaluation process while progressing ahead in the stage(s) of recruitment /
selection, following the standards in general. In case, applications, received are in excess of the
number of posts advertised, the Screening/Shortlisting Committee may adopt additional / higher
criteria for shortlisting, based on academic performance and/or years of experience of the
applicants or it may so decide, and the shortlisted applicants will be called for certain evaluation
process and subsequent stage(s) as applicable on qualifying the same as per decision of the Institute
or Institute may call all the applicants received against each post without verifying credentials. In
that case, verification of credentials may be done from the shortlisted candidates, as decided by
the Institute based on the situation.
8 The candidates are advised to include their entire experience and academic performance at the time
of filling the Online Application Form. The candidate’s eligibility will be assessed based on the
information provided in the online application form.
9 If a Class/Division is not awarded, minimum of 60% marks in aggregate shall be considered as
equivalent to First Class/ Division. If a Grade Point System is adopted, the CGPA will be converted
into its equivalent percentage of marks as per the UGC’s latest notification.

10 TA Reimbursement: No travelling allowance (TA) shall be paid to the outstation candidates
called for certain evaluation process.
11 The Institute is governed by the rules and regulations of the NITTTR, Kolkata Society in force /
amended from time to time and is fully financed by the Ministry of Education, Government of
India.
12 Appointment to the posts will be governed by the Institute rules and regulations. Pay and other
allowance will be admissible as per rule 7th CPC. The new appointee shall ordinarily be borne
under New Pension Scheme (NPS) unless otherwise specified.
13 House Rent Allowance: NITTTR, Kolkata Authority has the discretion regarding allotment of
accommodation. No house rent allowance will be paid to the selected/appointed candidate(s), if
they are provided quarter in the campus.
14 All posts are tenable in NITTTR, Kolkata and its Extension Centers.
15 All posts are temporary but likely to be permanent subject to successful completion of probation
period of two years for Teaching Posts and one year for Non-Teaching Posts. The probation period
may be extended or he/she may be terminated from the service at the discretions of Appointing
Authority, if it is found that during the probation period his / her performance was unsatisfactory.
16 Character and antecedents will be verified by the State Police Department. If there is any adverse
report forwarded by the State Police Department, the candidature of the selected/appointed
candidate shall liable for cancellation.
17 The appointment of the selected candidates is subject to being found medically fit and physically
sound as per the requirement of the Institute. Selected candidate shall have to appear before
designated hospital / state hospital for evaluating his/her medical fitness. No appointment will be
considered if the candidate found medically unfit.
18 How to apply:
Application Process: The aspiring applicants satisfying the eligibility criteria in all respect can

for filling and the link for submission of online applications will be activated from 15-11-2024.

through Speed Post / Registered post / Courier (or in person in working days/hours only) on or
before 31-12-2024. NITTTR, Kolkata will not be responsible for any postal loss or delay. The
applications received after the last date will not be considered for recruitment process and no

19 Persons serving in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSU/Autonomous Organization, should forward the printout

such persons shall be required to produce NOC at the time of selection process, provided they
must have sent an Advance Copy to the above stated address.
20 Candidates are advised to mention their correct and active email address in the application,

21 No correspondence or query will be entertained from the candidate regarding the eligibility, status
of application, postal delays, conduct and result of tests, selection process etc.
22 Candidates desirous of applying for more than one position (post) should submit a separate

23 Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of
the Courts situated at Kolkata, West Bengal only.
24 The list of Shortlisted and Not-Shortlisted candidates will be displayed on Institute Website (www.
nitttrkol.ac.in) after the shortlisting of the candidate process is completed. The applicants must

25 The Institute reserves the right to:
a) not to fill any of the advertised position(s), if no suitable candidate is found.
b) fill consequential vacancies including additional posts arising at the time of selection

c) trade test will be conducted against each non-teaching post among the qualified
candidates based on written test results.
