TOPIC: GOD AND HIS CREATION

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

1. Who God is for the Christians

2. The attributes of God /names of God in different Nigerian languages.

3. State a sequential account of the biblical narrative on the creation of the World.

ATTRIBUTES OF GOD /NAMES OF GOD IN DIFFERENT NIGERIAN LANGUAGE.

Every religion has its own attribute of God. God is seen as a supreme deity, all powerful, the creator and the King and judge of all. In

Nigeria, God is called by different names, the Yorubas call Him OLODUMARE (the supreme deity) the Hausas call UBAGI (the great

Lord of all), the Efiks call Him CHI OKIKE (God of creation).

BIBLICAL ACCOUNT OF THE CREATION.

TASK:

USING AN ILLUSTRATION , STATE WHO GOD IS AND THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD

1. The first Day of creation, God made the Light and separated it from the darkness. The Light He called day and the darkness He

called night. Gen. 1:1-4.

2. The second day, God created the sky and separated it from the water, the sky He called

Heaven (Gen 1:6-8)

3. The third day God made the Land, sea, trees (Genesis 1:8-13)

4. God created the sun, moon and stars. Thus, the seasons began and God saw that it was good.
(Gen 1:.14 - 19)

TASK:

DISCUSS GOD'S CREATION AND IT'S SIGNIFICANCE.

5. On the fifth day of creation, God made the birds and the sea animals. (Gen. 1:20-23)

6. On the sixth day, God created the sea animal and man.

TASK:

USING A TABLE FORM, LIST OUT FIVE (5) DIFFERENT NAMES OF GOD IN OUR COUNTRY , NIGERIA AND THEIR MEANING.

7. On the seventh day, God looked at all He had created and saw that it was good, He rested.

He is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscience. All wise, the creator of the universe.

ATTRIBUTES OF GOD:

1. God is love.

2. God is patient.

3. God is wise.

4. God is a supreme.

5. God is merciful.

DIFFERENT NAMES OF GOD IN NIGERIA ARE:

In Nigeria, God is called by different names:

1. The Yorubas call Him OLODUMARE (the supreme deity).

2. The Hausas call Him UBAGIJI (the great Lord of all).

3. The Efiks call Him ABASI. (The supreme God).

4. The lgbo's call Him CHI OKIKE (God of creation).
