This two-day course covers all aspects of the revised 20th Edition of API Specification 6A. The latest edition of API 6A has several differences from earlier versions and from the corresponding ISO standard, ISO 10423. Important changes have been made to material and quality control requirements, and the recent new Annexes to API 6A have been adopted into this latest edition. The seminar also covers the rules of NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 as they apply to wellhead and Christmas tree equipment. In this two-day course you will receive: A history of API 6A and related Specifications. Understanding of the organization of Specification 6A. A detailed scope of the Specification. Design requirements and documentation. Materials and welding requirements. Knowledge of Quality Control issues. Specific product requirements. Annexes to Specification 6A. Relationship to other API Specifications 16A, 16C and 17D. New Requirements of NACE as they relate to wellhead equipment and valves.
About The Instructor John H. Fowler, P.E. Is the owner of On-Line Resources, a Houston engineering consulting firm. John is a graduate of Rice University and was previously employed by Rockwell International and McEvoy Oilfield Equipment Company, where he was Vice-President of Engineering. He has been a member of API Subcommittee 6 since 1980 and twice received the API Citation for Service Award. He has also been a member of the Association of Well Head Equipment Manufacturers (AWHEM), where he served as President in 1983. Mr. Fowler teaches several seminars on API Specifications, including the seminar, Designing to API 6A/16A/17D Requirements which has been attended by over 500 engineers. 1.2 CEU (12 PDH) will be awarded for successful completion of the course and requires attendance for all hours of instruction and completion of the course evaluation.
