TEST 5TH WEEK
INSTRUCTOR: MR FARUQ
Transport/logistics mobile app
Design a mobile app for a transport/logistics company that offers an intuitive and
seamless user experience for customers to book, track, and manage their deliveries
or rides. The app should cater to both individual users looking for rides and
businesses needing logistics and delivery services. The goal is to create a user-
centric app that simplifies complex logistics and offers real-time updates, easy
booking, and user-friendly navigation.
Scope:
You are tasked with designing the core user flows and interface for a
transport/logistics mobile app. The solution should address the needs of different
users: individual customers, business clients, and transport operators. Consider
aspects like booking, tracking, notifications, payments, and customer support.
Task Guidelines:
1. User Research (Optional but Recommended)
Identify the primary users of the app: individual riders, small businesses
needing delivery, and large-scale logistics clients.
List their pain points and what features they might expect from a
transport/logistics mobile app.
Understand the competitive landscape. Look at popular transport/logistics
apps like Uber, Bolt, or DHL, and note their strengths and weaknesses.
2. Design the Core User Flows
Focus on designing 3 main user journeys:
a. User Journey 1: Booking a Ride or Delivery
A user wants to book a ride or schedule a delivery. Design the flow from
selecting the type of service (ride or delivery), entering pickup and
destination addresses, scheduling the time, and confirming the booking.
b. User Journey 2: Real-time Tracking
Once the user has booked a service, they should be able to track the progress
in real time. Design the flow that shows the user where the vehicle is,
estimated arrival time, and relevant details (driver/vehicle info, package
details).
c. User Journey 3: Payment & Review
After the ride or delivery is complete, the user should be prompted to make a
payment and leave feedback. Include payment methods, invoices, and
review options in the design.
3. App Features & Requirements
Ensure your design includes the following features:
a. Onboarding
A simple onboarding process introducing new users to the app features.
b. Service Selection
Allow users to choose between different services: Ride, Small Package
Delivery, Bulk Transport, etc.
c. Booking Interface
Input fields for pickup and destination.
Options for scheduling now or later.
Price estimates and fare breakdown.
d. Real-Time Notifications
Notify users at key moments (e.g., when a vehicle is en route, delivery/ride
completed).
e. User Profiles & History
Users should be able to view their booking history, past payments, and saved
addresses.
f. Payment Gateway
Multiple payment options (credit card, mobile wallets, cash on delivery).
g. Support and Help
Users should have easy access to customer service or a chatbot for help
during the process.
4. Deliverables
Your submission should include:
a. Wireframes (Low Fidelity)
Start by creating wireframes that outline the basic structure and layout of the
core screens.
b. High-Fidelity Designs
Turn the wireframes into high-fidelity, interactive designs. Consider the look
and feel of the app, paying attention to branding, typography, and color
schemes.
c. Prototype (Optional)
Create a clickable prototype using a tool like Figma or Adobe XD,
showcasing key user flows.
d. User Flow Diagram
A flowchart or diagram illustrating the steps a user takes through the app
from booking to payment and completion.
e. Case Study Documentation
A brief write-up (1-2 pages) explaining your design process, decisions made,
and how the user experience was prioritized. Highlight any challenges
encountered and solutions you implemented.
Evaluation Criteria:
User-Centered Design: How well does your design cater to the users' needs
and solve their pain points?
Usability: Is the app easy to use and navigate? Are key actions intuitive?
Consistency & Visual Hierarchy: How well do you use UI patterns, colors,
and typography to guide users?
Creativity: How unique and innovative are your design solutions while
maintaining usability?
Completion: How thoroughly have you designed and documented the user
flows and features?
