STUDENTS’ CIRCULAR

We are excited to inform all first-year students that the IDEATHON competition for the
academic year 2024-2025 will be conducted on our college premises. The IDEATHON aims to
encourage and provide a competitive platform for young innovative thinkers to present solutions
that address various societal and industrial problems under different themes. Students can submit
their innovative ideas in the software and hardware divisions.
Awards:
The top three ideas in each category will be selected and awarded cash prizes:
I Prize: Rs. 10,000
II Prize: Rs. 7,500
III Prize: Rs. 5000
Additionally, 25 consolation prizes will be awarded.

About the Ideation:

The Ideathon event aims at encouraging and providing a competitive platform to


younginnovative thinkers to look for and present innovative solutions that address the
problemsof the society and industry under different themes. The event gives chance to the young
innovators to submit their innovative ideas under identifiedthemes of utmost importance.
Rules and Regulations:
● Participants must register online and submit their ideas within the specified timeline.
● A team can have maximum size of 1 to 4 members.
● The registration form, along with a brief abstract, must be completed accurately and
truthfully.
● Participants must present their idea using a PowerPoint presentation in the Preliminary
Round and showcase an animated video or simulation of their proposed solution.
● Copying of ideas is strictly prohibited. Any form of plagiarism will result in
disqualification.
● Selection will be based on innovation and feasibility of the presented idea.
● All submitted ideas will be evaluated by our expert panel.
● Shortlisted teams will be notified via email and will be invited to present their ideas
along with their real time prototype model in the Final Round.
Submission Guidelines:
Each team has to identify a social concern and submit a PDF report including answers to the
following questions:
1. Identifying the Mission – the issue you want to work on under the specified problem
2. Define the problem and its relevance to today's market/ society / industry need.
3. Explain the uniqueness and distinctive features of the (product / process /service)
solution.
4. What innovation/new thought can you bring to the identified problem or issue?
5. How can this new idea or thought help resolve the existing problem?
6. How do you envision working on the identified solution? Who will you collaborate with
(e.g., the community, within the institute)? Who are the stakeholders involved, and how
can this be illustrated using diagrams or flowcharts?
7. How do you plan to fund the project, clearly mentioning the source and projected amount
of funding required.

Screening Round:
● Presentation Requirements: Students must deliver a brief presentation consisting of
5 to 10 slides outlining their solution.
● Time Limit: Each presentation is limited to a maximum of 6 to 8 minutes.
● Animation/Simulation: Participants are required to create and present an animated
video or simulation of their real-time working model( Max. Period : 1 Minute )
Final Round:
1. Presentation Format: Shortlisted students will present their solution in a descriptive
manner, including their proof of concept and prototype.
2. Demonstration: You must demonstrate your real-time working model, which
should be associated with your animated video.
3. Time Limit: The time limit for this presentation is 10 minutes, Demonstrations is 5
Minutes.
