Hard Disk
Drive (HDD)
An HDD is a traditional storage device that contains spinning
platters coated with magnetic material. A moving read/write head
accesses the data on these platters.
HDDs are best for storing large amounts of data cost-effectively.
They’re great for backups, storing media files, and serving as
secondary storage in a computer. However, because of their moving
parts, they are slower than SSDs, and performance can suffer with
heavy tasks like gaming or media editing.
