Objectives of YEP
To develop:
• Confident and resilient youths who are able to work in teams
• Caring youths who actively seek to improve the lives of others both at
home and overseas through sustainable Service-Learning projects
• Asia-Ready youths who are socially and culturally aware and able to forge
friendships in the ASEAN member states, China and India.

YEP Journey
Approx. 6-8 Months
Overseas Closure
Preparation (min. 10 SL Days, incl. of up to
(3 – 5 months) 12 hours of online (within 2 months)

Local Volunteering (once-off / regular)
• Learn more about social issues Overseas Project Teams are to submit their Project
in Singapore and the overseas • Include a Learning Journey with at least Closure Documents within 2 months,

YEP Learning Journey
The aim of learning journey is to allow youth to be:
• More aware of the economic development of the overseas host country;
• Understand the relations/cooperation between Singapore and the overseas host country;
• More aware and open to opportunities in the overseas host country and/or Asia (for example,
internship, employment, business, networking etc).

A project by Youth Corps Singapore’s Beyond Singapore Cluster.
The Beyond Singapore Cluster is a youth-led group that aims to raise awareness of UN
Sustainable Development Goals, and issues within the region and encourage volunteerism
to help overseas and local communities.
Objective of YEP hiBSCus
YEP hiBSCus aims to:
• Enhance youth’s understanding of volunteerism within the region
• Collaborate and volunteer with local youths in community projects
• Facilitate workshops to develop individual’s soft skills and
• Foster cross-cultural understanding through daily interactions, curated activities, and
shared meals

Potential Project Scope
1. Workshops with Indorelawan youths on soft skills and social issues, such as volunteer management,
communication skills, leadership skills, climate actions, literacy etc.
2. Volunteer with Indorelawan youths on:
a. Existing activity that Indorelawan youth have planned for the beneficiaries and community partner
b. Collaborate and plan activities with Indorelawan youth for the beneficiaries and community partner
c. Volunteering activity should involve interaction with beneficiaries
3. Learning journey with industry partners on economic developments
a. Indorelawan youth can participate in the learning journey together
