Fundamentals of Playwriting
When you have many ideas in a play some of those ideas are going to be the main
ideas, and some supporting ideas.
So your theme comes in two form the main and sub-themes.
The sub-themes help in explaining the main theme or the main idea.
When you get your idea that you're going to write upon, you should understand that
they are other themes you will use in supporting your main theme
* when you finish getting the idea there are some things that you put into
consideration when writing your play and they are;
I. Place
ii. Structure
iii. People
* When you are writing your play, you need to look for where is the play taking
place.
* What is the structure.
* Who are the people involved
* And then you must have a story that you are using your play to tell.
Every okay contains action because it is through the action that the writer tells
a story.
They are some Elements your play must contain and they are as follow:
1. Film
2. Plot
3. Language
4. Spectacle
5. Characterization
Every play must have these five elements.
NOTE: When writing a play you start with an Idea and the goes to your thesis
statement, from your thesis statement or topic sentence you create your paragraph
and you turn your paragraph into a story.
