King Air Series

Communiqué 2011-02 Rev 1

February, 2011

ATA 33 - Fluorescent Light Power Supply Replacement

King Air Model 300/B300 (350) Series (Excluding Model 350i)

The fluorescent lights in the King Air Model 300/B300 (350) series (excluding Model 350i) are
powered by six P/N 6900053-003 power supplies located under the cabin floor. The service
history of these P/N 6900053-003 power supplies has not been satisfactory.

In an effort to improve product reliability, a new design was implemented and the original P/N
6900053-003 power supplies were superseded to P/N 6900053-009 power supplies.

Upon implementation of these changes, Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) discovered a

compatibility issue when the P/N 6900053-003 and P/N 6900053-009 units are installed
together. In some instances, this combination resulted in intermittent power from the P/N
6300053-009 unit.

Additional design changes were made to the P/N 6900053-009 power supplies to resolve this
compatibility issue. These changes have resulted in the updated P/N 6900053-010 power
supply unit.

HBC recommends the following actions as applicable:

• If replacement of a P/N 6900053-003 power supply is required, order the P/N 6900053-
010.
• If the airplane has P/N 6900053-009 power supplies installed and they are functioning,
no action is required.
• Spares stock of P/N 6900053-009 should be returned to HBC via normal warranty
channels. For future stock orders, please order power supply P/N 6900053-010.

A publications change request has been submitted to update the applicable Illustrated Parts
Catalogs to reflect these part number changes.
