Once upon a time long long ago,
In a small village lived a cuckoo and
crow.
Although best friends, the cuckoo
spoke softly and sweetly to all,
But the crow always used harsh
words and was rude to big and
small.
Everyone loved the cuckoo and
disliked the crow,
But the reason behind this, the crow
did not know.
2/8
One day the crow and the cuckoo
decided to go on a picnic,
They started making plans and
packing bags quick.
They decided to bake a cake and
sandwiches and more,
For this they needed some
ingredients from the grocery store.
3/8
So as decided the crow went for
shopping,
He went to the store and cawed
without stopping.
The owner of grocery store had a
headache bad,
Listening to the loud and harsh voice
made the owner mad.
The crow didn’t stop and spoke
rudely to him,
He said “you are more stupid, than
you seem.”
“You better give me my order or you
shall see how,
I make each one of you, in front of
me bow”
4/8
Listening to these words, the
shopkeeper was agitated,
Never was he ever so badly
humiliated.
The shopkeeper started shooing the
crow out,
He threw small stones and started to
shout.
The crow came back fuming with
anger,
Why the shopkeeper was rude, he
had no answer.
5/8
The cuckoo said he will go shopping
and give it a try,
He will go to the same shop and see
if he can buy.
By this time the shopkeeper had
worst headache,
He was just sitting in the shop for its
sake.
The cuckoo started singing a
melodious tune, outside the shop,
The beautiful music made the
shopkeeper’s headache stop.
The song had words praising the
store owner,
It made the shopkeeper come out
sooner.
6/8
The shopkeeper thanked the cuckoo
for its song,
And asked her was she waiting for
too long.
The cuckoo asked the shopkeeper
for a favour,
the ingredients for cake to be
packed for her.
The shopkeeper gladly did what the
cuckoo said,
The cuckoo even got a discount as
she paid.
7/8
So children learn from the sweet
sounding cuckoo,
Everyone likes to hear sweet words,
don’t you?
So always talk to others, like you
would like them to talk to you,
And don’t forget to use the magical
words like-- please and thank you!
