I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the Field Coordinator Student position on the Centre Block
Rehabilitation Project, offered by PCL Constructors Inc. for the Winter 2025 term. With a solid
foundation in mechanical engineering and hands-on experience in construction, quality assurance,
and project coordination, I am excited to contribute to this prestigious project that plays a pivotal role
in Canadian heritage.
Currently a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo, I have completed
internships that emphasized practical engineering applications and project development. My recent
co-op experience with Honda Atlas Cars involved overseeing production control, engine assembly,
and quality assurance inspections. This exposure provided me with valuable insights into high-stakes
environments, where I developed strong analytical and coordination skills. Additionally, during my
time as an intern at Solutions Engineering (Pvt) Ltd., I gained hands-on experience with various
Building Management Systems and control mechanisms, where attention to detail and precise
implementation were crucial for operational safety and efficiency.
As someone skilled in using drafting, word processing, and spreadsheet software, I am confident in
my ability to update drawings, conduct trade quote reviews, and maintain accurate records for the
Centre Block Rehabilitation project. My familiarity with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and various mechanical
tools equips me with the technical expertise required for on-site tasks, from laying out site lines to
coordinating sub-trade work.
Moreover, my role as a Research Assistant at Pak-Austria Fachhochschule allowed me to refine my
research and prototyping abilities, which I believe would complement the fieldwork and site
supervision aspects of this position. I am particularly drawn to the opportunity to support a project of
national importance and to contribute to its successful completion alongside PCL and EllisDon’s team
of experts.
I am very enthusiastic about the prospect of bringing my skills and experiences to PCL Constructors
Inc. and contributing meaningfully to the Centre Block Rehabilitation project. Thank you for
