1. SERVICE PRECAUTIONS
1.1 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
A

 You should conform to the regulations governing the product (safety, radio and noise, and other regulations), and
should keep the safety during servicing by following the safety instructions described in this manual.
 Heat sink becomes hot areas. Be careful not to burn yourself.

HEAT SINK

1.2 NOTES ON DISASSEMBLY / ASSEMBLY

 Before disassembling the unit, be sure to turn off the power. Unplugging and plugging the connectors during power-on
mode may damage the ICs inside the unit.

 Please be sure to conduct line process to original status if you make assembling after repair.

 When you tighten the screws of following figure, tightly hold a transistor or a diode to be fixed to prevent the part
from turning by the force of tightening the screw.
(If the part turned, a stress will be applied to the solder and may cause a failure such as a solder crack.) C

 Please install Insulator between Power Transistor and Heat Sink when you install Power Transistor in Heat Sink.
If Insulator is not installed between Power Transistor and Heat Sink, Power Transistor might be damaged.

1.3 NOTES ON REPLACING PARTS

 Be careful in handling ICs. Some ICs such as MOS type are so fragile that they can be damaged by electrostatic
induction.
A
 Please be careful of not to apply static charge onto integrated circuits, etc, when you conduct repair work.
Especially, please use soldering iron with its tip grounded.
Also, please use a pair of tweezers with static charge protection capability if there is the possibility of contacting to
device terminals, and avoid the use of metal-made tweezers.

 When you replace a part fixed to the heatsink (Q141, Q142, Q241, Q242, Q341, Q342, Q441, Q442, D6, D7, Q9, Q10,
Q11 and Q12), adjust the position of the part according to the following.

Put the P.C.B TOTAL ASSY on blocks.

Put a paper between the block and the P.C.B TOTAL

ASSY, and outline transistors and diodes.
Put a part to replace in the outline.

Align the bottom of a transistor or a diode with the

top of the PC board, and solder it.
Apply grease, GEM1057 to the back of the part.

Note : Even if the unit shown in the photos and illustrations in this manual may differ from your product, the procedures
described here are common.

1.4 OTHERS
Notes on soldring
For environmental protection, lead-free solder is used on the printed circuit boards mounted in this unit.
A
Be sure to use lead-free solder and a soldering iron that can meet specifications for use with lead-free solders for
repairs accompanied by reworking of soldering.

 Operation of protection circuit

If the temperature of Heat Sink becomes approximately 80°C, the output power becomes about half for temperature
protection.
If the temperature of Heat Sink becomes approximately 100°C, AMP operation is stopped for temperature protection.
