heard about smart cities, Barcelona, for example, had already
begun to forge the first alliances with key sector companies.
Since 2011, the Smart City Expo World Congress, a unique
meeting point for the whole smart city ecosystem, has further
contributed to make it happen.

In less than ten years, the Smart City Expo World Congress
has become the world’s leading event for forward-looking
cities and regions, offering a better future for their citizens
worldwide. This year’s event will focus on five main challenges
facing cities all over the world: Digital Transformation, Urban
Environment, Mobility, Governance & Finance, and Inclusive
& Sharing Cities. This edition is likely to exceed the figures for
2018 and strengthen the smart community across the world
and open new paths for international collaboration.
Catalonia, as a pioneer territory in this field, is set to tackle
all these issues, thanks to the strong smart city ecosystem
which stands out for its critical mass and multiple assets
that reinforce it: cutting-edge technology centres, innovative
companies providing real solutions in different continents,
numerous startups, etc.

This catalogue contains information on over 50 Catalan

companies that are attending this Congress. They clearly
demonstrate the capacities of the Catalan business fabric
involved in ICTs and smart cities, promoting Catalonia as a
