JOB AID: DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING ADF DI ADD-IN
Purpose: This job aid provides the steps to download and install the Application Development Framework Desktop
Integration (ADF DI) for the Fixed Assets Module. ADF Desktop Integration extends the Oracle Application to Excel
so that critical business data can be easily accessed and edited for Fixed Assets using spreadsheet functionality
while linked to Oracle Cloud.
DOWNLOAD THE DESKTOP INTEGRATION INSTALLER
1. Click the Navigator button
2. The Navigator displays
Click Download Desktop Integration Installer from the Navigator – Tools menu
3. The Opening adfdi-excel-addin-installer.exe window displays
Click the Save File button

4. Locate the saved file and double-click the file to launch the installer
Note: Check the Downloads folder for the saved file
RUN THE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK DESKTOP INTEGRATION INSTALLER
5. The Open File – Security Warning window displays
Click the Run button
6. The Oracle ADF 11g Desktop Integration Add-In for Excel window displays
Click the Install button

7. Once the installation file is finished the window displays Installation Complete
Click the Close button
CONFIGURE THE ADD-IN SETTINGS IN EXCEL
8. Launch MS Excel and navigate to File > Options
9. The Excel Options window displays
Click Add-Ins menu option

10. Click the Manage drop-down list and select COM Add-ins from the list
Click the Go… button
11. The COM Add-Ins window displays
Click the Oracle ADF 11g Desktop Integration Add-In for Excel check box
Click the OK button

12. Navigate to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings
The Trust Center window displays
Click the Active X Settings menu option
Click the Enable all controls without restrictions and without prompting (not recommended; potentially
dangerous controls can run) radio button
Deselect the Safe mode (helps limit the control’s access to your computer) check box
Click the Macro Settings menu option
13. Click the Enable all macros (not recommended; potentially dangerous code can run) radio button
Click the Trust access to the VBA project object model check box
Click the Protected View button

14. Three check boxes are displayed for the following:
Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet
Enable Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations
Enable Protected View for Outlook attachments
Deselect each check box
Click the OK button
