Note: Attempt all the questions.

Q-1: Explain the behaviour of diode in forward and reverse biasing. Sketch the V-I
characteristic with related terminology. CO1 10 Marks
Q-2: Determine the current I1, I2 and I3 Figure (1).

Q-3: Figure 2 shows the Full bridge type circuits having the load resistance and
transformer turn ratio. The primary of each is connected to 230 V, 50 Hz supply CO1 10 Marks
(i) Find the d.c voltage
(ii) Find the RMS voltage
(iii) Efficiency
(iv) Ripple factor
(v) PIV for each case for the same d.c output.
(vi) Draw the output waveform of the rectifier with proper voltage and
time sale levels.
Assume the diodes are ideal (Silicon).
