34 41 135 Replacing both Bowden cables for parking brake

Attention!
Read and comply with General Information.

Bowden cables may only be replaced in pairs.

Observe safety information on raising the vehicle.

Necessary preliminary work:


Remove the actuator unit including control
unit for the electromechanical holding brake

Bowden cable, left:

Release union nut (1).

Installation note:
Tightening torque 34 41 5AZ.

Pull Bowden cable (1) out of actuator unit (2).

Attention!
Make sure all parts are absolutely clean.

Turn spindle (1) out of actuator unit (2) and remove


Bowden cable.

Installation note:
Lubricate new spindle with grease provided.

Insert spindle (1) 3 turns into inner spline shaft of


actuator unit (2).

Bowden cable, right:

Release union nut (1).

Installation note:
Tightening torque:

Pull Bowden cable (1) out of actuator unit (2).

Unlock retaining sleeve (1) and pull out of housing a


little.

Snap out coupling (1) in direction of arrow.
