AADHYATMIKA SASTHRAM PARICHAYA | Lesson 3
The lack of a course that introduces Sanathana Dharma systematically has often caused
difficulties to the curious and people who work at Dharma Pathasalas. Also, we can find self-respecting
Hindus who are deprived of apt responses to criticisms of religious extremists.
On careful examination of several books that have been published on this topic, one will realise
that these were written without Tyajya-Grahya Buddhi. Our experience proves that teaching our
children unauthentic stories from Puranas is causing more harm than good, by making it a weapon for
religious conversion forces to convert our youth. Most of them are still stuck with writing books
containing objective type questions like – Who was Arjuna’s daughter? Who was Kunti’s father?. Hence,
spoiling the seriousness of the subject. Others are reasearching on topics which are of no relevance to
anyone today. And then there are works which spoil the curiosity for learning by their poor method of
presentation.
There are several studies on Hinduism which resulted from the misconception that Sanathana
Dharma can be learned from scriptures alone. Although authentic scriptures may help in studying
Hinduism, only knowledge gained from Guru Paramparas is helpful in real learning. As Ramana Maharshi
stated, “I’m thankful I didn’t become a Vedanti by reading the Vedanta texts”.
It is here Acharya Sri K R Manoj ji, founder of Aarsha Vidya Samajam who instilled the message
of Sanathana Dharma in tens of thousands through the Adhyatmika Sastram course, reverted more than
4000 youth who had converted to anti-Hindu ideologies, back to Sanathana Dharma, and enabled more
than 10 such people become full-time Pracharaks of Sanathana Dharma, becomes relevant. He designed
this curriculum based on the knowledge he received from the Maha Guru Paramparas of Sri Sankara
Gurudev, Paramahansa Yogananda, and Nikhileshwarananda Parmahansa, findings from his own
research, experiences, and philosophies.
5. Acharya (Master) – Prathama Pada – 1000 hours, Dwitiya Pada – 5000 hours
It adopts an approach that goes from basic initial lessons on terminology to deeper aspects.
The lessons are presented in a way which can be understood by anyone in a clear and simple manner
without the complexities of language.

Anushthana (practice), Prachaarana (promotion), Adhyapana (teaching), and Samrakshana (Protection).
Delivering the message of Sanathana Dharma to crores of people was not merely a divine call, but also a
vision of the Aarsha Guru Paramparas, prayer of the Sadhaks, dream of our ancestors, and the birth
purpose of our nation itself. The Sanathana Dharma Online Study Course is a bold step towards
achieving this yet unrealized goal. The course will be delivered in all major World languages to ensure
that there is no one in any country who hasn’t heard of Sanathana Dharma.

SANATHANA DHARMA
LESSON -3
MAHADVACHANAM
Kunjunni Mash, a Malayali poet who is famous for his short poems writes,
Vaayichaalum valarum
Vaayichillelum valarum
Vayichu valarnnaal vilayum
Vayikkathe valarnnaal valayum
which means - you grow whether you read or not, but if you read and grow you mature, but if you grow
without reading you become crooked or bent.
The founders of all philosophies and religions that exist today are humans. For example:
Founder of Buddhism – Gautama Siddhartha Buddha
Founder of Jainism – Vardhamana Mahavir
Founder of Sikhism – Guru Nanak
Founder of Judaism – prophets such as Abraham and Moses
Founder of Christianity – Jesus Christ (Some scholars believe that St. Paul was the founder of
Christianity in the name of Jesus Christ)
There are many stark differences in several aspects between man-made religions and god-given
Sanathana Dharma, which we will learn later.
2. Point out the evidences that prove that Sanathana Dharma was not established by man but given
by Ishwara.
1 – The name Sanathana Dharma itself suggests this. The word Sanathanan means
Parameshwara. This Dharma is called Sanathana Dharma because it was established
(determined), or given by Sanathanan, or for the realization of Sanathanan. Sananthanan is the
Lakshana Nama (Ananya Nama or unique name) of Parameshwara.
(Parameshwara has 4 types of names:
Tattva Nama, Lakshana Nama, Avyaya Nama, Vibhooti Nama.
We will learn about them later.)
13
AADHYATMIKA SASTHRAM PARICHAYA | Lesson 3
2 – On examining the philosophies (Ishwara Darsana; divine philosophy and Jeevana Darsana;
life philosophy), principles, glorious practices, divine laws in Sanathana Dharma, will convince us
that it is god-given and not made by man who is bound by limitations.
3 – The Indian tradition for search for truth and determination of right and wrong is based on 3
important principles:
Pratyaksham , Anumanam, Shabdam
Pratyaksham
Scientific observations / physical facts using the five senses (the eyes, the ears, the nose, the
tongue, the skin).
Anumanam
Acquired by the application of scientific and rational human intellect. The process of reasoning
according to the laws of Tarka Sastra.
Shabdam
Apthavakyas (well-accepted sayings of credible people), authentic texts, self-evident truths
realized through intuition.
On examining through these 3 principles, one can be convinced that Sanathana Dharma is true
and divine.
4 – Sanathana Dharma says that Parameshwara gave Sanathana Dharma on earth millions of
years ago during the very advent of humans. It can be seen that this is logical and conforms with
science. The age of mankind (as well as universe) as per Judaism, Christianity, and Islam doesn’t
go beyond BC 4004. This is irrational. With the help of modern science and technology, it has
been proven that man originated millions of years ago. How childish is the claim that God tried
to guide such an ancient human race through his messengers only 2000 or 1400 years ago. It has
to be admitted that such a God does not become righteous (just) or merciful if he let these
crores of humans who were born, lived, and died before these religions were established,
without guiding them and let them live miserably.
5 – Only Parameshwara can determine or establish the order of the universe (Ritam (cosmic
rhythm), Kramam(order), system).
6 – Only Parameshwara can point out the Dharma Margam; the path of Dharma that can help in
attaining Sreyas (spiritual success) and Preyas (worldly success) by understanding the secrets of
the universe. Human intelligence cannot find them.
7 - Only Sree Parameshwara can suggest the ways to realize him. Only he can guide the way to
him. Tatpurusham, Aghoram, Sadyojatham, Vamadevam, Ishanaam; these 5 Sampradayas
14
AADHYATMIKA SASTHRAM PARICHAYA | Lesson 3
(traditions) are the main fundamental paths in the Sadhana system of Sanathana Dharma. These
are considered to be the 5 faces of Parameshwara.
10 – Vedas are the basis of Sanathana Dharma. The philosophical meaning of the word Veda is –
god-given wisdom. Sruthi, Agamam, Shabdam, Nigamam; all these words mean that which is
given by Ishwara.
11 – It is a plan of action for achieving all goals of humanity; health, complete and holistic
personality development, complete life success, radical problem solving, and noble society
building. Sanathana Dharma has so many powers together, since it is god-given (given by
Parameshwara).
12 – Sanathana Dharma is a philosophy that can turn Manava into Madhava (human into noble
human). This is a divine evolutionary science of growth and evolution that can evolve man into
superman, superwoman, Aryan, Rishi, Madhava. Sanathana Dharma is the powerful Vedic
knowledge that is capable of sustaining Satyayuga forever and making earth a heavenly place.
No human being can create this great knowledge that can turn man into a superhuman.
called Vedam, Agamam, Shabdam, and Darsanam. (Sanathana Dharma has the tradition of
referring to the goal and the path that leads to it with the same word.) Hence by providing
directly and developing it through intuition, he established Sanathana Dharma.
2 – Only Ishwara can give Sanathana Dharma to humans. Only Parameshwara can give the
Dharma Tattvam (principles) and the Dharma Margam (path based on these principles). Only he
can advice the ways to realize him. Ishwara who raises all living beings to him, cannot but give
Sanathana Dharma.
4 – A Pratyaksha Roopam; visible form is necessary to teach accurately, clearly, and without any
doubts. In Sanathana Dharma, Pratyaksha Guru holds much importance. “Gurur vina
gathirnaasti” – there is no development without Guru. So, someone is needed to teach the early
16
AADHYATMIKA SASTHRAM PARICHAYA | Lesson 3
Rishis (See Guru Mahima Stutis). Even today when direct spiritual study is so necessary for
humans, think about how much more necessary it was during the early times!
5 – All sects unianimously declare that Parameshwara took up a human form (not a born body,
but a manifested body) by virtue of his omnipotence, guided humans, and established Guru
Paramparas to make the world noble through humans. All Parmaparas consider Sree
Parameshwaras manifest form Adinatha or Dakshinamoorthy as the founder of Sanathana
Dharma and the Adiguru. Hatha Yoga Pradeepika begins with praises to Adinatha. Yoga
Paramparas describe him as Adiyogi, Adinatha. Vedantas refer to him as Dakshinamoorthy or
Jnanamoorthy (note the Dakshinamoorthy Stotram by Sankaracharya). Tantric Paramparas call
him Shivarishi, Shivasankara Rishi. Kashmir Shaivism describes him as Sreekanta Rudra, and
Neelakanta Rudra. Svetasvataropanishad as Rudra Maharshi. Devotees call the Pratyaksha
Bhava of Sree Parameshwara as Kailasanatha, Kailasavaasi. All Guru Paramparas agree that
Sanathana Dharma was given through the Rishis. This Adinatha – Dakshinamoorthy is referred
to by various names by various Paramparas and described as Adiguru (even Buddhist and Jain
traditions!).
7 – There are no detailed descriptions of the principles, practices, Sadhanas (Pranayama, Japa,
Dhyana, Prarthana, Swadhyaya, Satsang), and laws in Sanathana Dharma in any books except
references and hints to them. However, the complete science that contains all this is in the Guru
Paramparas. It won’t be available without a Pratyaksha Guru Parampara. Teaching, correction,
and doubt clearance are necessary. Even the Vedopanishads mention about the ancient Gurus.
The Rig Veda is the earliest Vedic literature or written text.
Note the first Mantra in the Rig Veda – Mandala 1, Ashtaka 1, Adhyaya 1, Sukta 1, Varga 1 which
begins with Agnimeele, Rik 2:
agniḥ pūrvebhir ṛṣibhir īḍyo nūtanair uta |
sa devāṃ eha vakṣati ||
This Mantra undoubtedly proves that there was an unwritten tradition of Gurus even before the
origin of the Vedas.
9 – All the scientific traditions univocally claim that Para vidya and Apara Vidya were given by
Kailasanatha. Tradition has it that it was Vaidyanatha who is Vaideeshwara, who gave Ayurveda
to Dhanvantari and Siddha Vaidya to Agastya Maharshi. It is said that it was Adinatha who gave
Dhanur Veda to Parasurama who expounded Vadakkan Kalari (Northern Kalari) and Agastya
Maharshi who is the founder of Thekkan Kalari (Southern Kalari). The vision of Shiva that Panini
led to the birth of Ashtadhyayi through the Maaheshwara Sootras. It was Adinatha who
enlightened Agastya Maharshi with Tamil. He who is Nataraja, is Kalanatha; the lord of all forms
of art such as Nrittam (dance), Vadyam (instruments), Sangeetham (music). Adinathan is hailed
as the originator or inspirer of Siddhi Vijnans like Soorya Vijnan, Kaala Jnan, Parad Vijnan,
Swarna Tantra, Prana Vidya, Sammohan Vidya, Mantra-Tantra-Yantra Vijnan.
10 – The Veda-Upaveda study tradition also emphasizes the importance of a Pratyaksha Guru or
Adhyapak.
11 – The Kailash Yatra is yet another proof that Sanathana Dharma was given by Adinatha or
Dakshinamoorthy who is the manifest form of Parameshwara. It was the first pilgrimage in the
world. There are hints about these even in the epics. Not only Yogis, Tantrics, sages, and
Vedantis, but even Buddhists and Jains carry out the Kailash Yatra. Because this is the place
where the tremendous revolution that transformed animal-conscious human beings into real
humans took place! It was here that Ishwara bestowed the great science that transforms man
into Aryan, Rishi, and Madhava. Over the years, devotees have been undertaking pilgrimages to
Kailash to commemorate this.

AADHYATMIKA SASTHRAM PARICHAYA | Lesson 3
AARSHA SANDESHAM
Meaning:
He mahadeva pasupathe – O god of the gods and lord of all beings
Ssukthau rajatham iti – the illusion of silver in the oyster
Kachasmanimani – and pearl on glass
Paishte jale ksheeram – the illusion of milk in rice flour mixed in water
Mrigatrishnaasu salilam – the illusion of water in the mirage
Buddhi yatha bhavati – how the intellect perceives wrongly due to misconceptions
Tatha moodhajanah – similarly the ignorant
Isham twaam – thou who are omnipotent and almighty
Manasi cha namathwaa – without considering even in the mind
Bhavadanyam – other deities
Devabhranthyo – deluded that they are the almighty
Bhajati – serving
Explanation:
O god of the gods, lord of all beings, just like the illusion of silver in oyster, pearls instead of glass, milk
instead of rice flour mixed in water, water in a mirage, how the intellect is altered by misconceptions, in
the same way the ignorant serve other deities illusioned that these are all-powerful without even
considering the omnipotent and almighty Parameshwara in their minds.
19
AADHYATMIKA SASTHRAM PARICHAYA | Lesson 3
SUBHASHITHAM
- Bhagavad Geeta,
Chapter 4 – Jnana Karma Sanyas Yoga – verse 39
Meaning:
Śhraddhāvān – to the one who has faith (firm confidence in the words of the Guru and Ishwara)
tat-paraḥ - interested in the Paramatma Tattva (supreme knowledge)
samyatendriya – senses that are well controlled
jñānaṁ labhate – spiritual wisdom is attained
jñānaṁ labdhvā – having attained spiritual wisdom
achireṇa – without delay
parāṁ śhānti – supreme peace (self-fulfillment)
adhigachchhati – attains
A person who has faith, is keen on the Paramatma Tattva, and has well-controlled senses gains wisdom.
When wisdom is attained, supreme peace is attained soon after.
Summary:
The three qualities that Sadhaks must possess in order to attain spiritual enlightenment are mentioned
here. Due to a lack of these qualities, even Sadhaks who think their Sadhana is sincere are unable to
attain the goal. One will be able to free himself from worldly ties and ascend to divinity only when he
has the three qualities indicated by these words: Śhraddhāvān, tat-paraḥ, samyatendriya

APPENDIX
What is Aarsha Vidya Samajam?
Aarsha Vidya Samajam is an educational institution for the Pancha Kartavyas; five duties: Adhyayana
(Study), Anushthana (Practice), Pracharana (Promotion), Adhyapana (Teaching), and Samrakshana
(Protection) of Sanathana Dharma. The institution was born with the Anugraha and Ashirwada of great
Gurus for achieving the motto of Krinwantho Vishwamaryam; to make the whole world noble, through
right education of Sanathana Dharma as per Parameshwara’s call, concept of the Aarsha Guru
Paramparas, and the prayers of our ancestors.
The long-term goal is to promote the below 4 unmatchable courses offered at various levels around the
world –
- Adyatmika Sastram
- Sivasakthi Yoga Vidya
- Bharathiya Samskrithi
- Vidyarthi Naipunya Varg
At the same time, as a short-term measure, we bravely fight against external and internal challenges to
Dharma. Here is a brief introduction to the 4 priceless courses offered by Aarsha Vidya Samajam and its
sister concerns .
The course we are going to start learning today is Adhyatmika Sastram. It has 5 levels.
On completion of 150 hours of Prabodhini course, you can enroll for the 250-hour Adhyapak course. This
course develops teachers, speakers, counselors, and debators.
5. Acharya (Master)
This level is for those who want to become the authentic voice of Adhyatmika Sastram. It has two
stages:
Prathama Pada – 1000 hours
Those who successfully complete this stage will be honoured as Vidwan.
Dwitiya Pada – 5000 hours
Those who successfully complete this stage will be honoured as Acharya.
Sivasakthi Yogavidya kendram offers the real Yoga Vidya course comprehensively, completely, and
scientifically without any compromise based on the Natha Sampradaya, which Adinathan himself taught
his disciples. Yoga based on Shodasha Tattvas (16 principles). It has 4 levels:
Indian Culture and Heritage, civilization, India’s spiritual – philosophical – educational – scientific –
technological – mathematic – language – art – culture legacy and traditions. How India influenced other
countries. Political, economic and social philosophies, untwisted history of India – cultural history,
political history, and social history. The Bharatheeya Samskrithi course covers the problems faced by the
nation, its heritage, people, Sanathana Dharma and its sciences, their causes and their remedies.
22
AADHYATMIKA SASTHRAM PARICHAYA | Lesson 3
It includes complete study of the history of India’s freedom struggle, early invasions. As part of the
struggle for freedom study in political history, the course includes the history of invasions by
and about the great men who successfully fought against and resisted these invasions. Kata, Saubhooti,
Malava, Shoodraka, Brahmanaka, Ganarajyas, King Purushotthama, Chandragupta Maurya, Chanakya,
Kharavel, Pushyamithra, Vasumithra, Agnimithra, kings of the Kanva dynasty, Shalivahana,
Chandragupta, Samudragupta, Vikramaditya, Skandagupta, Bhanugupta, Yashodharma,
Harshavardhanan, Chera-Chola-Pandya-Chalukya kings, kings of the Satavahana dynasty, and many
other kings. Many heroes and greats about whom the current generation hasn’t heard about. These
were the men who overcame lakhs of invasions and merged the aggressors into us, into the body of the
nation. At present, there is no Persian, Greek, Bactrian-Greek, Shaka, Kushana, Huna colony in North
India. They merged into the Hindu society. It should be pointed out that the reason for this great miracle
was the fighting power of the brave Hindu warriors – Kshatra Veeryam, the spiritual brilliance of the
Rishis – Brahma Tejas, the researching intellect of the Indian scholars, and the self-realisation power of
the people.
Attacks by Islamic forces – But later, invasions by Islamic forces happened. The invasion on Sindh by the
Arabs and the conquest of Sindh by Mohammad bin Qasim in AD 711. Subuktagin Ghazni, Mohammad
Ghazni, Mohammad Gori, Bakthiyar Khilji who invaded Bihar and Bengal and destroyed Nalanda
university, various dynasties which later ruled from Delhi – Slave dynasty, Khilji dynasty, Tughlaq
dynasty, Said dynasty, Lodhi dynasty, Sur dynasty, and Mughal dynasty. And then the invaders who
came from time to time – Mongolian invaders, Timur, Nadir Shah, Ahamad Shah Abdali, some Muslim
Nawabs who ruled some regions of India, Bijapur, Bamini, Mysore Sulthans, western occupations –
Portugese, Dutch, French, and British. And countless patriots who valiantly fought against them!
History is being distorted! – There is no other country which has fought for freedom so long against
various forces, to preserve its nationality, people, Dharma, culture, and sciences. There is no other
people on earth that has made so many sacrifices for its Dharma and culture. That’s why we continue to
exist today. We also teach about the great freedom struggles, undistortedly. At present, history is
tampered and distorted in such a way that glorifies the worst enemies and attackers of Sanathana
23
AADHYATMIKA SASTHRAM PARICHAYA | Lesson 3
Dharma, culture, nation, and people. Our children do not learn anything about those who lost their lives
or made remarkable contributions to Sanathana Dharma, its heritage, nation, and sciences and their
protection. Even in the Government school textbooks, we can find the history of invasive forces that
came to exploit us and destroyed us in every way being portrayed as great and heroic. There is no
system in place currently to study the real history of our ancestors which is the first step in the discharge
of duties towards them. In this extremely unfortunate system today, our Bharatheeya Samskrithi course
fulfills this historic need. This is Aarsha Vidya Samajam’s tribute to the great men, freedom fighters, and
martyrs. This is known as Aarsha Yajna. Aarsha Yajna is the Dharma towards the great men and scinces
that has enlightened the world through their greatness, knowledge, and good deeds. It is also Nara
Yajna, which is the duty towards country, culture, ancestors, and fellow beings.
We offer Students’ Excellence Program for holistic personal development and skill enhancement of
students. It is a step towards implementing the educational system of the Rishis. Education is the way to
achieve complete health, overall personality development, complete life success, complete problem-
solving, and building a great society. This course covers ancient Gurukul knowledge and modern
methods for acquiring physical, Pranic, mental, intellectual, spiritual, and social qualities, Knowledge
(Para Vidya and Apara Vidya), abilities, and strength. Along with basic lessons in Adhyatmika Sastram,
Yoga Vidya, and Bharathiya Samskrithi, the course contains personality development, brain power, IQ
development methods, study techniques, memory enhancement methods, Exam & Interview facing
strategies, success strategies, writing and speech training, language proficiency, mathematical ability,
Vedic mathematics, basics of science, history of freedom struggle and renaissance, counselling,
Vyayamiki Vijnan, various games, folklore, daily living (beneficial knowledge and tips essential in day-to-
day life), legal literacy, First Aid, science of our body, career guidance, quizzes, stories, biographies of
great people, general knowledge, current affairs, proverbs, riddles, reasoning etc. The course is offered
on 5 levels –
The Prabodhini levels in Adhyatmika Sastram (150 hours) and Bharatheeya Samskrithi (120 hours) are
also being taught in Online Live classes.
