Publications

Theodor Seuss' works have been published in 95 countries, in 17 different languages, and he has
sold more than half a million books worldwide.

2.- Origin of the pseudonym

A year after the publication of his first cartoon, Theodor went to Oxford University, this because
his father wanted him to study to become a Doctor; Seuss did not finish the race and to please his
father he put on the initials "Dr"

3 He was a cartoonist.

During his youth, Seuss attended Darthmouth College, participating as a writer in a humorously
twisted student magazine named "Jack-O Lantern", but after being found in his bedroom drinking
with his peers, the local dean forbade him from continuing to write, that's when he began drawing
and set out to continue collaborating for the magazine but drawing only drawings.

He was the first person to win a Pulitzer Prize writing children’s stories.

He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

He had a closet full of funny hats, and when he couldn't write, he'd pick one and put it on to flow
ideas.

He wrote every day for eight hours.

He added the title "Dr." to his name as a consolation for his dad, who wanted him to be a doctor.

He made more than 60 children's books

He wrote his most famous book, Green eggs and ham, to win a bet, as he was told he could not
make a book with 50 words or less.

His Dartmouth teammates voted for him as the least likely to be successful

His real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel and his friends called him Ted.
