own understanding.

The process of glycolysis, which turns sugar into energy for our bodies, is like magic. Take the
example of eating a sugar-based treat. Tiny workers inside your body take the sugar and break it
down into even smaller pieces, much as how you would chop a large Lego brick into smaller
ones.

We call this breakdown process glycolysis. The workers first cut the sugar in half, then they
modify the pieces to create energy—which our bodies require to run, jump, and even think!
Glycolysis ends with energy and a few other small components that are used to produce more
energy in the future. In other words, it's similar to converting sugar into bodily energy.
