CONFIRMATION SPONSOR
Each candidate must choose a sponsor whom they feel will guide them in spiritual matters.
This person will be a mentor and friend, someone the candidate will be comfortable talking
to. The sponsor may be a Godparent, a close relative, or someone who can fulfill the role.
The sponsor must:
1. Be a confirmed Catholic.
2. If married, must be married in the Catholic Church.
3. Not be a parent of the candidate (this is Canon Law).

1. Complete the interview (section B) with your potential sponsor. Write down
THEIR answers. These are NOT part of the paper.
2. Write a ONE-TWO PAGE (college rule or typed) paper on WHY this person is
the best fit as your sponsor. You may expand on the questions above in
section A.
