David Agard
David A. Agard is a professor of biochemistry and
biophysics at the University of California, San David A. Agard
Francisco. He earned his B.S. in molecular Nationality American
biochemistry and biophysics from Yale University and Alma mater Yale University (B.S., 1975)
his Ph.D. in biological chemistry from California California Institute of Technology
Institute of Technology. His research is focused on (Ph.D., 1980)
understanding the basic principles of macromolecular University of California, San
structure and function. He is a scientific director of the Francisco (Postdoctoral, 1980)
Institute for Bioengineering, Biotechnology, and MRC Laboratory (Postdoctoral,
Quantitative Biomedical Research and has been a 1981–82)
Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) investigator
