characteristic impedance, and use Smith’s chart for different application of transmission line.
CO5. Analyze wave propagation in different medium and polarization.

(C) Convert cylindrical vector A= 4 ar into Cartesian at point 3/CO1 5M

(A) A transmission line with a characteristic impedance 50 Ω is 3/CO4 5M
connected to a load impedance ( 38.9 – j 48.9) Ω. At operating
frequency of 2 GHz, find VSWR at load end. Also find
minimum and maximum impedances on line.
(B) A loss less transmission line of length 100m has an inductance 3/CO4 5M
of 28 μH and capacitance of 20nF. Find a) Propagation velocity
b) phase constant at an operating frequency of 100 kHz. C)
Characteristic impedance of line.
(C) A lossless transmission line is terminated in a load impedance 3/CO4 5M
of ( 30 - j23)Ω. Find phase constant and reflection coefficient
of a line of length 50m. Characteristic impedance Z0 = 50 Ω.
Wavelength on line is 0.45m

constant, intrinsic impedance, wave length and phase velocity of the
wave.

conducting characteristics of earth at a) f= 50Hz b) f = 1KHz
c) f=1MHz d) f = 100 MHz e) f= 10 GHz ( Hint: Find conductivity
at different frequencies)
