Under the directorship of Venerable Professor K L Dhammajoti (法光法師),
Vidyācarana Buddhist Resource, Malaysia, offers a sanctuary for the integration of
scholarly Buddhist studies and spiritual praxis. Its academic programmes are affiliated to the
University of Kelanya, Sri Lanka, an internationally reputed institution with an outstanding
history of Buddhist studies since 1875, and its degrees are awarded by the same university.
TEACHING TEAM INCLUDES
Venerable Professor K L Dhammajoti (Director), Professor Y Karunadasa,
Assoc Prof Guang Xing, Assoc Prof G Halkias, Assoc Prof King L Kong,
Venerable Dr Dhammapala, Dr Dharmarakkhit, Dr Nagasena, etc.
COURSE UNITS OFFERED (availability varies f rom year to year) INCLUDES:
v Buddhist Doctrines of Pali Nikāyas v Theravāda Abhidhamma
v Mahāyāna Doctrines v Canonical Languages: Pali, Sanskrit
v Buddhist Psychology and Psychotherapy v Research Methodology
v Sarvāstivāda Abhidharma v Tibetan Buddhism
v History of Indian Buddhism and Chinese Buddhism; etc.
All courses are offered on a semester basis. The academic year comprises two semesters.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
All applicants should meet at least one of the following requirements:
i. Postgraduate diploma in Buddhist studies awarded by PGIPBS, University of Kelaniya.
ii. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university; or equivalent.
iii. Any other qualifications deemed as equivalent to the above by the faculty board of PGIPBS.
